INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT WINNER: Health Project P&K MCKAIGUE NATIONAL AUTISTIC SOCIETY DAYCARE CENTRE, RANDALSTOWN P&K McKaigue’s National Autistic Society Daycare Centre build impressed judges with its exceptional care and attention to the wishes of stakeholders and the local community. A deceptively-simple building blending effortlessly into its surroundings, thoughtful design, flow and considered spaces reflect the passion, dedication and vision of its staff. P&K liaised closely with the client to ensure all requirements were satisfied, achieving homely and peaceful finishes and specifications across the units and outdoor space to aid users’ development. Finished to a high standard, features include a Learning Suite with interactive screen, immersive Cinema Room with 5D experience and Vibroacoustic Waterbed Suite with gaming/movie projection capabilities.
INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT WINNER: Education Project GLASGIVEN CONTRACTS ST RONAN’S COLLEGE, LURGAN
St Ronan’s College is a testament to how a unified team can integrate innovation, collaboration and sustainability at scale to deliver an outstanding education and community facility. Exceptional collaboration between Glasgiven Contracts and the project team overcome complex technical, stakeholder and site challenges to successfully complete the largest single-site post-primary campus in the Department of Education’s capital programme. Creating a comfortable, welcoming and supportive learning environment for staff and students, the project brought together three long-established schools into a single 21,000sqm future- ready campus for 1,750 pupils. Robust project management and effective integration of BIM and BREEAM were used to enhance programme efficiency, value and sustainability.
