SHIMNA INTEGRATED COLLEGE, NEWCASTLE PROJECT PROFILE
Architectural & acoustic masonry Colinwell Masonry, part of the RTU Group, supplied four-inch Portland Smooth Face Architectural Masonry and Acousta Tex sound- absorbing units for the school build. The project proceeded without hitch, with Colinwell’s Acousta Tex blocks meeting a project requirement to comply with specific acoustic regulations, without compromising the architect’s design. The Belfast-based firm worked closely with Glasgiven Contracts Project Manager Ciaran Bonner, overcoming any logistical issues to ensure deliveries were completed ahead of the Christmas holidays and the project proceeded on schedule. Philip Smyth, Sales Manager NI & ROI, says, “It’s great to see our architectural and acoustic masonry blocks being used for Shimna College. Supplying products that combine technical requirements and aesthetic qualities were key reasons why Colinwell was chosen for this prestigious project.” Specialising in architectural masonry, acoustic blocks, retaining wall systems and paint grade masonry, Colinwell Masonry is committed to technical excellence, reliability and close collaboration with architects, contractors and clients across Northern Ireland, Ireland and GB.
