Originally developed for surveillance, this type of lens is designed to handle working distances up to infinity. Most models have an adjustable aperture and focus, that make it easy to change brightness and adjust focus. They are popular due to compact size and affordable cost. However, they are not suitable for dimensional measurement in close proximity due to large peripheral distortion. VST offers a wide range of products with improved performance in the macro range. The lineup also includes unique lenses such as SWIR-compatible lenses and lenses designed specifically for 3CMOS cameras.

When capturing an image using a normal lens, foreign objects on the bottom surface cannot be visualized. Since imaging is performed with an extremely short working distance, the space for lighting installation is limited, making it difficult to image the inner surface of a cylinder. Also, the depth of field is insufficient, so the cylinder is not in focus from the top to the bottom.

By capturing an image with an inner surface inspection lens, foreign objects can be visualized on the entire workpiece. The special design ensures a long WD, so lighting can be provided from a high angle to capture bright images all the way to the bottom. The depth of field is deep and in focus to the bottom.

With ordinary lenses, small letters in the corners are blurred due to distortion in the four corners of the field of view and lack of resolution.

The VS-HVA series can capture high-resolution images with minimal distortion in the whole field of view. Even small letters in the corners can be captured clearly.
