Moving Forward Strategic Directions
The Fort Worth Police Department will continue to move forward implementing goals and action items outlined in the Strategic Plan understanding that changing circumstances and opportunities may change priorities. The four strategic directions will help guide decision making as the department moves forward with implementation of the strate- gic plan over the next three years. Included in this section are the four strategic direc- tions with major focus areas for the next three years highlighted, capital improvement plan up- dates, and staffing priorities. Strategic Directions 1. Professionalism and Organizational Excellence Complete the National Initiative Process - Over the remainder of the project, the National Initi- ative will continue to support FWPD to rollout the Procedural Justice curriculum; support trust
-building efforts; raise public awareness of its activities and increase public engagement; and measure the impact of its interventions. Continue to provide training through the pro- fessional development program for all person- nel with a focus on leadership. Continue to build relationships with diverse populations within Fort Worth to create and expand the future recruiting base. Continue to recruit, hire, promote, and retain the best candidates to serve the Fort Worth community. Continue to ensure the department’s organiza- tional structure is appropriate to respond to community needs.
