The Third International Scientific Conference of Umm Al Quwain University entitled (Digital Technology from Rooting to Innovation - Higher Education Institutions and the Future of Arab Labor Market). Researchers from various Arab countries, Western and Asian countries are participating in the conference, presenting dozens of scientific papers covering the conference themes, which include Communication and Media, Arts and Science Law, and Business Administration. Prof. Galal Hatem, University Chancellor, said that holding the conference at Umm Al Quwain University between development prospects and contemporary challenges comes after the great success of the first and second conferences, as well as coinciding with the launch of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla Ruler of Umm Al Quwain «Umm Al Quwain Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy 2031» at the World Government Summit last March. Prof. Hatem added the conference also comes within the framework of UAQU colleges to obtain international accreditation from prestigious international institutions. The conference aims to establish advanced bases in building and investing in digital technology to serve humanity and achieve the maximum possible benefit in promoting sustainable development programs, activating academic programs in higher education institutions, and linking them to modern digital technology according to advanced methodological controls. The conference also aims to publish specialized papers related to its themes to expand interest and inspire new ideas supporting the development and innovation project to keep pace with the digital revolution.

His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla stressed that Umm Al Quwain University is one of the most important academic institutions in the country and always strives for excellence and effective presence on all occasions. His Highness, the Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, expressed his congratulations to the graduates and their families for their blessed harvest, which is the result of the efforts made over years of academic study and educational attainment and appreciating the efforts of UAQU family members who worked sincerely to achieve scientific and academic success and a prestigious position within a short period.

Umm Al Quwain University Wins the Third Place in UAE Hackathon
Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority announced the UAE Hackathon 2023 winners› names in its sixth edition on the sidelines of the Month of Innovation activities, yearly in February. It was during the closing ceremony of the sixth edition of UAE Hackathon at the Higher Colleges of Technology - Dubai, in the presence of Engineer Majid Sultan Al Mismar, Director General of the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, representatives of government agencies, Authority’s partners from the private sector, and the competitors. «Asafa Team» from Umm Al Quwain University won third place in UAE Hackathon in the universities track. Nasser Hassan Al Shehhi and Salem Mohammed Al Mahri were the team representers under Dr. Suzan Shaheen’s supervision. Dr. Hani Bakr, the vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UAQU, Dr. Suzan Shaheen and Mr. Maan Al Saati attended the ceremony.

Prof. Galal Hatem, Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, chaired a special meeting on Umm Al Quwain’s Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy 2031, in the presence of Mr. Bassam Mahmoud, a training expert in the Executive Council of Umm Al Quwain Government, and the interested members of Umm Al Quwain University. Several ideas and proposals, that enhance the importance of this vital project were raised and discussed in the meeting, as part of consolidating the university’s role in active involvement in the development process of society.

Umm Al Quwain University Organizes the Innovation Exhibition
Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla Chairman of the Department of Finance and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Umm Al Quwain Award for Innovation, accompanied by Sheikh Saqr bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla Chairman of Smart Government in Umm Al Quwain, visited (Umm Al Quwain Innovates 2023 exhibition) at Umm Al Quwain University, and organized by the team of UAE Innovation Month at Umm Al Quwain. Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Mualla visited the 14 platforms prepared by government agencies at the exhibition. The participants presented their innovations and projects, which serve the community in many sectors and are compatible with the future. His Highness expressed his appreciation to all the institutions for their effective participation in (Umm Al Quwain Innovates 2023) exhibition, and contribution to enhancing innovative ideas which have a big role in finding solutions to future challenges.

Umm Al Quwain University signs a Memorandum of Understanding to Integrate Artificial Intelligence Technologies into Educational Process
Umm Al Quwain University and the Artificial Intelligence Journalism Research and Foresight Foundation (AIJRF) signed an academic and applied memorandum of cooperation, to integrate and promote the use of artificial intelligence technologies in applied academic courses and in many educational courses at Umm Al Quwain University. Prof. Galal Hatem, Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, and Dr. Mohammed Abdel Zaher, CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism Research and Foresight Foundation signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The memorandum states the integration of all artificial intelligence technologies into the university’s learning process, to vary between applied and theoretical sides and to provide an opportunity for the university students at the bachelor’s level to acquire knowledge experiences that help support their academic excellence and refine their practical skills.

A Training Course on the Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Umm Al Quwain University
Umm Al Quwain University organized a three-day training course at the university’s campus on artificial intelligence applications in the media content industry; in partnership with the Future Leaders Center for Consultation and Human Resources Development. The course was attended by the academic members, and aimed to employ artificial intelligence techniques in creating media content, and how to write content using CHAT GPT. Prof. Galal Hatem, the University Chancellor, stressed the need to urge students to attend training courses in this field to develop their skills in line with the labour market requirements. The course presented by the trainer, Mr. Aws Walid, highlighted the use of artificial intelligence in proposing textual content-creating presentations and also dealt with documenting media content using non-fungible tokens (NFT) applications to preserve intellectual property rights
