Le projet doit encore faire l’objet d’une demande de contrôle du plan d’implantation de la part du promoteur, mais il est par ailleurs conforme aux lignes directrices provinciales en matière d’urbanisme et autres. Une audience publique sur le projet de modification du zonage a eu lieu le 14 juin et aucune objection n’a été présentée. Le promoteur souhaite construire un immeuble de 24 appartements pour les aînés qui sont capables de vivre seuls, sans services d’aide à la vie autonome. Les locataires âgés auraient toutefois accès aux installations de la Place Mont Roc. Le règlement visant à modifier le zonage sera examiné et approuvé lors d’une pro- chaine séance du conseil.
Le conseil municipal de Hawkesbury appuie une proposition d’ajout d’appar- tements pour les personnes autonomes à la maison de retraite Place Mont Roc. Le conseil a approuvé une recomman- dation du service d’urbanisme concernant une modification du zonage qui permettrait la construction d’un ajout d’appartements séparés sur le boulevard Industriel, adjacent au foyer pour personnes âgées Place Mont Roc sur l’avenue Spence. Le promoteur souhaite que le site de l’immeuble d’appar- tements, dont le zonage est institutionnel, soit modifié pour devenir résidentiel de densité quatre.

It’s time again to send a robot camera crew on a tour of Hawkesbury’s sewer system. Council approved a recommendation from 1VCMJD8PSLT%JSFDUPS+POBUIBO8JMTPOGPS $200,000 to cover the costs of a closed-cir- cuit camera (CCTV) inspection of the town’s storm and sanitary sewer systems. The last CCTV inspection for the systems was in BOEQVCMJDXPSLTEFQBSUNFOUXBOUT to update both its asset management plan and also its action plan for future necessary VQHSBEFXPSL The $200,000 will cover the cost for a CCTV inspection of about 36,000 metres of sewer lines. This equals about half of the total system. The 2021 capital budget includes $100,000 already allocated for annual SFIBCJMJUBUJPOXPSLPOUIFTBOJUBSZTFXFSTZT - tem and the operating budget has $30,000 dedicated to storm sewer inspection. The remaining $70,000 will come from the storm sewer reserve. It will also identify any minor or major repairs that may
be necessary and also alert staff to sections of the system that need total reconstruction. Food trucks are found everywhere in Prescott-Russell except in the Town of Hawkesbury but that situation could change. “The possibility of introducing refresh- ment vehicles and food trucks to the Town of Hawkesbury can be a positive way to stimulate the community’s economy,” stated Myriam Longtin, municipal clerk in brief to council during its June 22 committee of the whole session. Longtin wanted council members’ thoughts and opinions on the idea before continuing any work on developing a bylaw and application process on the subject. She noted in her brief that the food truck JOEVTUSZ XIJDICPPNFEJOUIF6OJUFE4UBUFT during the past decade “has made significant inroads in Canada” with food truck menus offering a wide range of cuisines. Le potentiel de logements résidentiels à Hawkesbury a été l’argument de vente présenté lors d’une audience sur la modification de zonage de l’ancienne propriété industrielle PPG. «Tout le monde est bien conscient du besoin de logements résidentiels à l’heure actuelle», a déclaré Christine McCuaig, consultante de Q9 Planning & Design, lors d’une réunion publique tenue le 24 juin sur une demande de modification de zonage de la propriété. L’entreprise de Mme McCuaig, basée à Ottawa, s’occupe de la planification de la conception pour une société à numéro, 8362505 Canada Inc. Cette société sou- haite aménager le site de 30 hectares situé au 545, boulevard Industriel, en un important projet résidentiel et commercial qui se déroulerait en 12 phases. Au cours de la réunion, Mme McCuaig a résumé les détails du projet. Le promoteur veut construire plus de 700 unités de loge- ment sur la propriété, ainsi qu’une zone commerciale de 6,5 hectares. La partie résidentielle comprendrait : 50 maisons unifamiliales, 160 maisons jumelées, 98 maisons en rangée, et deux immeubles d’appartements avec un total combiné de 430 unités. L’ancienne propriété de PPG est située derrière le Hawkesbury Mall, sur l’avenue Spence. La proposition d’aménagement comprend quatre voies d’accès suggérées dans la zone à partir des quartiers adjacents. 6OF QBSUJF EF MB QSPQSJÊUÊ FTU [POÊF Community Commercial et l’autre partie Trade and Industry. ont exprimé leur inquiétude au cours de la réunion concernant la perte d’arbres voisins dans le secteur. D’autres résidents ont fourni des mémoires avant la réunion prévue, demandant la protection des eaux souterraines dans le secteur pendant le développement. Le promoteur a déjà effectué une éva- luation environnementale du site (EES) en deux parties pour déterminer s’il y avait une contamination résiduelle du sol à l’époque où la propriété était le site de l’usine PPG. Le rapport de l’EES recommandait que toute terre suspecte retirée pendant l’excavation soit transportée vers un site d’élimination autorisé et qu’un remplissage propre soit utilisé pour remplacer la terre. Le personnel municipal prendra en compte toutes les informations et tous les commentaires présentés lors de la réunion et révisera l’ébauche de la proposition de modification du zonage pour la présenter au conseil lors d’une prochaine réunion. La révision inclura les recommandations du service municipal d’urbanisme. Ce qui le préoccupe, c’est la phase 4 du projet de développement résidentiel. East Hawkesbury council hopes a repair bill for one of the fire department’s pum- per trucks won’t prove too expensive in the end. “I have no problem going ahead with these repairs,” said Mayor Robert Kirby, “we have no choice.” Mayor Kirby expressed concern whether or not necessary repairs to water pumping TZTUFNPO1VNQFS5SVDL/VNCFS5XPJTBMM that is needed to ensure the vehicle can meet provincial insurance standards for fire truck. "SFQPSUGSPN&BTU)BXLFTCVSZ'JSF#SZDF Luker noted that Pumper Two failed its annual pump test. The cost to bring Pumper Two’s water pumping system up to standard again could range from $8900 to $15,000 and keep the vehicle out of service for as long as a month depending on what repairs are needed. Mayor Kirby suggested that Pumper Two’s water storage tank be checked for signs of rust when its pumping system is removed for repairs. “I’d like a complete look at it, and then we’ll know where we stand,” Kirby said. Pumper Truck One also needs about $1200 of repair work to fix leaks on its discharge outlets. The unit passed its annual pump test, however, and remains serviceable for fire calls. Notice of a Complete Application and of a Public Meeting Concerning a Proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Municipality of The Nation initiated a complete application and will hold an electronic public meeting on August 9 th 2021 at 6 pm to consider a proposed amendment to the Zoning By-law No. 2-2006 of the Municipality of The Nation, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended. The proposed zoning by-law amendment is initiated by the Municipality to permit secondary dwellings and coach houses in all zones where single, semi-detached and row dwellings are a permitted uses on its territory and to make minor modifications to some provisions and definitions. In order to support ongoing efforts to stop the spread of Covid-19 , the public meeting will be live streamed on our YouTube Channel named “The Nation Municipality / La municipalité de La Nation.” The link to our YouTube channel is on the municipality’s website: www.NationMun.ca. By participating virtually on YouTube, we can ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.
