C’est donc une victoire écrasante pour les Libéraux, après 78 jours d’une course e%rénée et neuf ans d’absence, puisque le Canada sera désormais gouverné par un gouvernement majoritaire libéral qui a décroché 184 sièges. Pierre Lemieux aura tenu le dra- peau des Conservateurs pendant neuf ans en remportant les élections de 2006, 2008 et 2011. À son arrivée vers 22 h 45 au bar Gab’s, à

Il a pris le temps de remercier son équipe, sa famille, ses parents et ses amis avant de répondre aux questions des journalistes. « Je n’ai pas encore eu le temps de regar- der les résultats, mais on a travaillé fort et ça prouve à quel point tous les bénévoles de l’organisation ont fait du bon travail. Je vais regarder la télévision en rentrant chez moi, comme tous les Canadiens, a-t-il déclaré, visi- blement heureux. La campagne a été longue et les gens ont eu le temps de réaliser que les Libéraux deM. Trudeau avaient un bon plan, et notre campagne a toujours été très positive. On sentait aux portes que les gens voulaient un réel changement. » Le nouveau député fédéral, qui baigne depuis longtemps dans la politique, n’est pas nerveux pour la suite des choses. « Pour moi, ce qui est important, c’est de bien servir ma communauté et c’est exactement ce que je vais faire dès maintenant. Flu season clinics The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) launched its annual schedule of free flu vacci- nation clinics. Les Sens de passage à Rockland

L’équipe des Sénateurs d’Ottawa a fait le bonheur de près de 1700 personnes, le 19 octobre dernier, alors qu’elle était de passage à l’aréna de Clarence-Rockland. Les Sénateurs se sont entraînés devant leurs partisans pendant près d’une heure. La majorité d’entre eux étaient des jeunes des écoles de la région de Prescott-Russell. L’énergie et l’excitation étaient palpables dans l’air, alors que les enfants en ont pro"té pour encourager bruyamment leur équipe. C’est Spartacat, la mascotte o$cielle des Sénateurs d’Ottawa, qui a réchau%é la salle tout au long de l’événement, au plus grand bonheur des enfants. Certains ont même eu la chance de repartir avec une signature, un bâton ou une rondelle grâce à la générosité des joueurs. Cinq jeunes hockeyeurs de la région ont d’ailleurs ouvert l’entraînement en patinant sur la glace avec des drapeaux à l’e$gie des Sénateurs d’Ottawa. Ils ont aussi remis du sirop d’érable à quelques joueurs, dont au capitaine de l’équipe, Érik Karlsson. Les conseillers Jean-Marc Lalonde et Mario Zanth étaient présents pour l’occasion. Déjeuner-béné!ce pour la 10 e campagne d’habits de neige Le déjeuner-bénéfice pour la 10 e campagne d’habits de neige, organisé par Fiers de nos enfants/Maison de la famille de Rockland, aura lieu le 27 octobre prochain, de 7 h à midi au restaurant Friendly’s, à Rockland. L’ob- jectif de cette collecte de fonds est d’amasser 10 000 $ pour l’achat d’habits de neige. Les groupes de 6 ans et plus doivent réserver et il est aussi possible de précommander pour emporter. Parrainée par le Groupe Action pour l’enfant, la famille et la communauté de Prescott-Russell, cette 10 e campagne d’habits de neige permettra de vêtir pour l’hiver les enfants de 0 à 12 ans de familles dans le besoin. L’an dernier, la campagne a permis de vêtir une centaine d’enfants. Un humoriste à la Station 4 Saisons

Martin Turgeon est connu sur scène alors qu’il a animé les mercredis fou rire à Gatineau, les samedis de l’humour à Montréal et les dimanches drôles de dé!s à Saint-Hyacinthe. Il a aussi participé plusieurs fois au Grand rire comédie Club et à En route vers mon premier gala. La Veillée avec mon oncle Hector et ses invités sera le prochain spectacle à la Station 4 Saisons, qui aura lieu les 20 et 21 novembre. Cette soirée typiquement canadienne se fera sous forme d’un souper-spectacle interactif. Mon oncle Hector sera incarné par Brian St- Pierre qui sera accompagné d’une douzaine de comédiens et de comédiennes, ayant par- ticipé au méga spectacle l’Écho d’un peuple à Casselman. Dans le cadre de ce spectacle, la Station 4 Saisons remettra 5 $ de chaque billet vendu à la banque alimentaire de Bourget.

L’humoristeMartin Turgeon était de passage dans la région, le 16 octobre dernier, alors qu’il était l’invité de la Station 4 Saisons. Une trentaine de personnes ont assisté au souper spectacle de l’humoriste montréalais, à Hammond. Mélangeant des blagues à saveur sociales et sexuelles, il a surtout fait rire son public avec cette dernière partie, en !n de soirée. L’objectif de son spectacle : dire tout haut ce que les gens pensent tout bas. Réalisée dans une ambiance intime, l’ap- proche amicale deMartin Turgeon a fait plaisir à la foule, qui s’est sentie incluse dans les anec- dotes racontées par l’humoriste. Il a abordé des sujets tels l’éducation, l’intimidation, l’amour, la conditionmasculine et féminine, la pression sociale et le bonheur, qui se veut la conclusion de son spectacle. L’artiste a pro!té de son passage dans la région pour tester quelques-unes de ses nou- velles blagues. Même si plusieurs n’ont pas semblé soulever l’enthousiasme des gens pré- sents dans la salle, l’humoriste a su prendre à son avantage les moments d’incertitude de son public, en rendant ses instants cocasses. Bref, même si l’humoriste a fait plusieurs blagues plutôt adaptées à un public québécois, la soirée s’est bien déroulée et les gens ont apprécié le spectacle. Quoi de mieux pour se détendre qu’un bon repas accompagné d’hu- mour, le tout dans une ambiance chaleureuse. Début de la collecte de fonds au pro!t de la Fondation des SCPR La Fondation des Services communautaires de Prescott et Russell (SCPR) a lancé son activité de collecte de fonds, le 24 septembre dernier, lors de son assemblée générale annuelle au River Rock Inn de Rockland. Cette collecte de fonds vise à soutenir les différentes activités de l’organisme. Les intéressés peuvent se procurer des billets jusqu’à la fin du mois de décembre dans les différents bureaux satel- lites des SCPR. Des prix seront tirés chaque mois pour une période de 12 mois. Il y aura aussi en janvier le tirage d’un chèque-cadeau d’une valeur de 1000 $ chez Marlin Travel.
