Service Lift Training Standard / V4

Facilitate group discussions on the relations between technically flawless components and the mitigation of risk

Provide constructive feedback on discussions and the participants’ shared experiences on inspection of lifts in relation to safety

The participants shall:

Sum-up the procedures of how to inspect relevant components of the lift and alternative lift types

Explain the relations between technically flawless components and the mitigation of risk

Suggestion for alternative learning activity: The participants answer a questionnaire on relevant topics. Questions must support the participants’ reflections and decision taking.

OPERATION OF LIFT (PRACTICAL EXERCISES)

90 min.

The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to independently use a lift in a WTG safely and responsibly in routine work situations and on own initiative to seek lift type-specific or other guidance or help when needed.

After successfully having completed this lesson of the GWO Service Lift User Module, the participants can:

29) Take responsibility for ensuring that all protective systems and components at the lift plant are in place (Ability, intermediate level)

30) Take responsibility for performing a pre-use inspection of a lift by following the actual manual and pre-use inspection checklist and on their own take initiative to seek further guidance when needed (Ability, intermediate level)

31) Take responsibility for using and operating the lift safely and responsibly (Ability, intermediate level)

Lesson 5 may be conducted as a coherent exercise covering learning objectives from Lesson 5 and additional elements from other lessons where feasible. Furthermore, relevant theory from previous lessons should be applied during the practical exercises
