ELEMENT 15.2 - GENERAL CONDITIONS
Learning objective:
107) The participants can perform an inspection of the general condition of a fall arrest device, and replace a fall arrest device, following the manuals (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Present key points in relation to the inspection of the general condition of fall arrest devices in different lift types, e.g.:
a.
Wear on intake bushing
b.
The electrical wiring from the FAD
c.
Centrifugal system
Illustrate how to install different types of fall arrest devices by following manuals and facilitate practical training on how to inspect and replace an FAD
Lead a discussion about how and why components in fall arrest devices are tested, in accordance with the relevant manual
Facilitate a discussion about how to install centrifugal pulley, in accordance with relevant manuals
Lead or facilitate a discussion on differences between different fall arrest devices in different lift types
The participants shall:
Engage in the practical training, reflect on the received feedback, and take active part in discussions and share experiences from working with fall arrest devices

The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to inspect the supply cable and cable bin in accordance with the manuals and inspection lists.
After successfully having completed Lesson 16 of the Service Lift Inspection and Maintenance Module, the participants can:
