MACHEREY-NAGEL’s Vials and Caps Vials with firmly integrated micro-inserts have the advantage of a ready-to-use unit that can be filled easily and safely due to the firm fixation of the insert. Afterwards the vial can directly be placed on the lab bench or in a tray / rack. Sample removal is carried out without any risk for the needle due to the reliable centering of the micro-insert. The risk of any contamination is always lower with ready-to-use sample containers in comparison to individual components that still need to be assembled in the lab.

Glass-in-glass products Consist of a glass insert fused into a glass vial. The high transparency of the glass provides a clear view of the filling level. However, these products are more sensitive to glass breakage during transportation, especially in the area where the two glass components are fused together. Glass-in-plastic products Made with a polypropylene outer shell, offer a more robust and cost-effective alternative to glass-in-glass micro-vials. They have slight disadvantages in terms of transparency, but the glass insert is precisely centered in the inner cone of the plastic shell. These products can also be supplied with an integrated silanized insert.
