Primary to be held on Aug. 4, 2026

This is to announce that a primary will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Gloucester County Elections and Voter Registration has a secure drive-through ballot drop box that is under 24/7 surveillance outside our office, located at: 6467 Main Street in Gloucester (Building One). When returning your absentee ballot by mail or through the ballot drop box, please be sure to enclose your ballot in Envelope B completed, sealed and inside of the pre-paid postage envelope which was provided in your ballot pack. To vote in person, don’t forget to bring your acceptable ID. Thank you! What seats are on the ballot?

Important dates for the August election:

Candidates were not confirmed by the print deadline for this magazine. If only one candidate qualifies in any office (Senate or House), that office will not have a primary. We will have sample ballots posted for you to preview in June. Check gloucesterva.gov/elections-voter-registration or call 804-693- 3659 for the most up-to-date information. How to vote: You can request an absentee ballot be mailed to you, you can vote early at the elections office, or you can vote at your polling location on Election Day. Be sure to thank your election officers – they are your friends, family and neighbors. We think they are amazing! Special election in November:

June 18: Early voting starts at the Elections Office (6467 Main Street, Building One). Our hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 19: Elections Office closed in observance of Juneteenth. July 24: This is both the last day you can request an absentee ballot by mail, and the last day to get registered to vote/make changes to your registration. July 25 and August 1: The Elections Office will be open for Early Voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. August 4: Election Day! Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your normal polling location. (You cannot vote at the Elections Office on this day.)
