Any local youth, 16 or younger, could find themselves getting a «positive action» ticket from an OPP officer if they are seen doing things like: practising personal safety by wearing a bicycle helmet, being active in community work, showing community pride by picking up litter, helping a senior citizen carry groceries, obeying traffic rules while bike riding or using a crosswalk. The «Positive Ticketing» program also helps police build apport with youth and children in the community. «It’s the most important thing,» said Coun. Hawkesbury OPP want to charge local youth with being good citizens. “This is a very important program for our community,” said Inspector Chris McGillis, Hawkesbury OPP detachment commander, as he announced the creation of the “Positive Ticketing” program. Ontario’s provincial police force has the «Positive Ticketing» program in other muni- cipalities as part of its community relations work. This year the program becomes part of the Hawkesbury detachment’s proactive community outreach plan with the help of a $500 support grant from the Hawkesbury Police Service Board. The aim of the Positive Ticketing program is to recognize and reward local youth for good citizenship when they display «positive

Ces informa- tions aideront le conseil et l’administration à déterminer si l’installation actuelle peut continuer à servir la communauté dans son état actuel, à décider des lignes direc- trices d’un examen technique complet si cela s’avère nécessaire, et à planifier les rénovations ou les mises à niveau futures, le cas échéant. L’étape finale prévoit un examen tech- nique complet de l’installation, afin de déterminer combien de temps elle peut fonctionner dans son état actuel, d’aider à déterminer quels investissements dans les mises à niveau et les rénovations sont réalisables, et aussi d’évaluer si le bâtiment reste sûr pour une utilisation durant au moins cinq ans, pendant que l’administration travaille sur la planification budgétaire des améliorations futures. Le budget 2022 prévoit déjà 150 000 $ pour le coût du processus de planification et d’examen du complexe sportif. Le Conseil approuve la poursuite du processus.

Mme Thérèse Wylie (née Lajeunesse)
de St-Eugène (Ontario), décédée subitement à sa résidence le samedi 2 avril 2022, à l’âge de 62 ans. Elle était l’épouse bien-aimée de Gary Wylie; la fille de feu Gilles Lajeunesse et de feu Carmen Thibault; la chère mère de Peter (Chelsey Menchini), Carolane (Komla Antey) et Jessica (Gabriel Bergeron); la grand-maman adorée de Sullivan-Ray et Olivia. Lui survivent également un frère et une sœur, Richard (Céline Brunet) et Chantal (Joël Lefebvre); sa belle-mère Marie-Claire Lauzon (feu Stanley Wylie), ainsi que des beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. Mr. Maleek Ashan Zaki, from Hawkesbury, passed away in the early hours of the morning, on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the age of 18. He was the son of Tarik Ashan Zaki and of Estelle Dupuis; the loving brother of Bianca Dupuis-Blondin, Kyle Douglas and Samina Zaki; the adored grandson of Ahsan and Valerie Zaki, also of Réjeanne Dupuis; the beloved nephews of Ryna and Shelley Zaki, Rehan Zaki, Michel and Eric Piché, Stéphane and Shannon Dupuis and Laurier jr Maheu.
