The Robert L. and Anna M. Roschel Memory Support Center is a safe and secure place where staff engage Residents in activities and programming designed to enhance their lives while providing a nurturing, caring and comforting environment for our Residents. The Memory Support Center completes the continuum of care services at St. Anne’s by providing the specialized skilled nursing care environment needed to attend specifically to the needs of Residents with Alzheimer’s and Dementia diagnosis. Our décor was carefully selected to promote a serene atmosphere for Residents who may become overwhelmed by noise, lights and other stimuli. The home environment is made complete with wall-mounted televisions, a country style kitchen and dining room, sunroom, and beautiful spas. Enhanced Living Memory Support at SARC offers specialized care for people with cognitive and memory impairment, including caring for individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. We understand that this is a deeply personal journey, filled with its own set of rewards and challenges. New and expanded services include: • Enhanced calendars and schedule of activities based on individual schedule/rhythm • Virtual Reality Goggles called Mynd Immersive Digital Therapeutics (DTx) are a viable, low-intervention solution Challenges and uneasy behaviors that can be deployed quickly and at scale, empowering aging adults to live fuller, healthier lives, and their caregivers to deliver more effective personalized care. Some videos include international travel, peaceful beach. • A doll/homemaker healing room and stations, for some of our residents who find comfort in caring for dolls, pets, or doing familiar household roles such as laundry folding or similar recognizable tasks. Doll /Pet care can be beneficial for a number of reasons, including: comfort, interactivity, caregiving, and even stress reduction. Some activities and therapies offered include: Gardening, Exercise, Cognitive games and therapies, Music therapy, Art therapy, and Pet therapy. Ann B. Barshinger Personal Care Memory Support Center is a secure and safe area where Residents are able to participate in individual and group life enrichment programs. With our new Personal Care Memory Support Center, St. Anne’s has the distinct opportunity to be fully positioned as a health care leader in Lancaster County, providing a specialized environment needed to attend to the specific needs of Residents with Alzheimer’s and Dementia diagnosis. Some of these needs may be: assistance with personal hygiene, medication administration, daily activities and guidance with safety and judgement. Our Residents have 24 hour supervision and assistance. All Memory Support rooms are private and feature a mini refrigerator, a flat screen television and storage space. Our aim is to provide support to both you and your loved one throughout this journey, offering a personalized program tailored to meet each resident's unique needs. We create and implement personalized care plans designed to ensure the best possible care for your loved one.
