Karly is a second-year graduate student in the athletic training program. Following graduation, she plans to work with collegiate athletes, specifically Division 1 or 2 hockey or volleyball programs. Last year, Karly was awarded for her high academic achievement, campus involvement, and dedication with the College of Professional Studies Dean's Award Outstanding First Year of Master of Science in Athletic Training. Karly is currently doing her clinical immersion at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul working with its Division 1 women's hockey team. Judith Ann Herrold Athletic Training Professional Scholarship KARLY BIHNER About the Award Dr. Judith Herrold dedicated 34 years of service at UWSP with teaching, advising, serving faculty governance, mentoring new faculty, and her student advocacy. Her legacy of caring for students continues with this scholarship that supports outstanding Athletic Training students.

DANE MOORE College of Professional Studies Dean's Award Outstanding Second Year of MS-Athletic Training

About the Award This award is given to second-year graduate students in the MS- Athletic Training program that have demonstrated the strongest academic achievement amongst their program peers.

SHELBY KLOBUCAR Robert G. Zach M.D. Memorial Scholarship Shelby is a health science–pre-athletic training major. She competes for UWSP’s track and field team. She is a member of the Sports Medicine Club and the Health Occupations Students of America student organizations. Shelby was an intern at the Area Health Education Center in Wisconsin Rapids where she worked with people with domestic abuse trauma. She hopes to work as an athletic trainer for the military after earning her master’s degree in athletic training. About the Award Dr. Robert Zach’s five sons created this scholarship in memory of their father. Three of the brothers were directly connected to UWSP – a professor in Chemistry, a physician with Health Services, and a member of Academic and Career Services. Thank you for honoring Dr. Zach with this award.

Steven Blocher Memorial Athletic Training Scholarship GRACE NYS

Grace is a health science pre-athletic training major and music minor who has performed in a UWSP opera. She started her path to athletic training while in the Dominican Republic as a part of the USA Softball Team. Grace is looking forward to starting her athletic training education and hopes to make a difference in many individuals’ lives along the way. About the Award Friends and family of Steven Blocher established this award when Steven passed away in a boating accident the summer before his senior year. Steven excelled at tennis and was a civil engineering student that attended UWSP and then UW-Platteville. We remember Steven today with this award.

SOPHIA REDDAN College of Professional Studies Dean's Award Outstanding First Year of MS-Athletic Training

About the Award This award is given to first-year graduate students in the MS-Athletic Training program that have demonstrated the strongest academic achievement amongst their program peers.

BREANNA SCHNELL Health Sciences and Wellness Excellence Scholarship Breanna is a health science pre-athletic training major. Learning from her injuries as an athlete, the athletic trainers who helped her recover inspired her to become an athletic trainer one day.

CASSIE SEMON Marshfield Clinic Health System Graduate Scholarship

About the Award This award is given to graduate students who are currently involved in community development or programming for the Wisconsin communities that Marshfield Clinic Health System serves. Cassie is a second-year graduate student in the MS-Athletic Training program who hopes to work in a high school or as a traveling AT for sporting events. She enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband and cannot wait to work as an athletic trainer.

JESS SLOWIK Charlie Crandall Scholarship

About the Award This award was established by Charlie “Doc” Crandall who was the head athletic trainer at UW-Stevens Point. Charlie served as the President of the Wisconsin Athletic Trainer’s Association from 1982 to 1986 and developed UWSP’s athletic training facilities and program. He was inducted into UWSP’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008. This award was created to assist second-year MSAT students with clinical education expenses. college. During her time as an undergraduate student, Jess was a part of the women’s basketball team, and a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), Sports Medicine Club, and the National Honor Society. About the Award Dr. Emil Pagel established this award in the loving memory of his wife Harriet. After Dr. Pagel passed away, the scholarship became the Harriet and Emil Pagel Memorial Scholarship. phlebotomist and served as a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics tutor. Eve has achieved academic success by earning a spot on the dean's list for six semesters. TRENT FRANCOIS Tammy Feltz Medical Technology Memorial Scholarship Trent is a junior in the clinical laboratory science program and will complete his clinical practicum with St. Vincent's Hospital of Green Bay. He is a member of the Health Care Organization student organization and is completing his first year as a Marshfield Clinic Health System Health Scholar. About the Award The family of Tammy Feltz established this award when Tammy passed away in a car accident. Tammy was a wonderful person and an excellent clinical laboratory science student. We honor Tammy today with this award.

Marlene Jensen-Cable Scholarship WENDY HUTTON

Wendy is enrolled in the medical laboratory technician-to- medical laboratory scientist completion program as she works full-time for Marshfield Clinic Health System. Outside of her professional work and schoolwork, Wendy directs a nonprofit organization called the Loop de Lori Triathlon in Chippewa Valley which assists cancer patients financially with enrolling in natural and homeopathic wellness services during their treatment. About the Award

Dick Cable established this scholarship in memory of his wife, Marlene. Marlene was very involved in her community, and while living in Eau Claire, WI helped start the University’s Single Parent Scholarship fund in hopes of helping women with children obtain a college education. After her death in 2009, friends of Marlene’s started a new scholarship fund name, The Heroes Fund, in which Marlene was the first hero, with others being named and added to the future. Everyone has a hero, and Marlene has been a hero to her family and friends.

REEGAN KELLY College of Professional Studies Dean's Award Outstanding Clinical Student of Clinical Laboratory Science Reegan was member of the Pointers swim and dive team for four years, was an anatomy tutor at the TLC, and continued to be a 4-H volunteer back home to Saint Peter, Minn. Reegan spent the past six months completing her clinicals at ThedaCare in Wild Rose and Neenah. She has now accepted and started working at ThedaCare - Wild Rose and is loving working in a rural health care setting. About the Award This scholarship was created by Mrs. Iola Doescher in loving memory of her sister Ida. Mrs. Doescher passed away at the age of 92. Both Ida and Iola were witty and caring individuals that wanted to help others. We remember both Iola and Ida today with this award . is a member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and has made the dean’s list five times at UWSP. About the Award Dr. David Chitharanjan, Emeritus Professor of Chemistry who passed away this past year, was instrumental in starting the Clinical Laboratory Science program at UWSP. He taught many of our current Clinical Laboratory Science faculty when they were students. Dr. Chitharanjan honors students of exceptional academic ability with this award. Hope is a clinical laboratory science major who plans to graduate next spring to become a clinical laboratory scientist. She hopes to make a difference in people's lives by helping diagnose patients accurately and quickly. She is part of UWSP’s Honors Program and is the social media coordinator for the Biochemistry Club Student Organization.

Lenice Merrill Eskritt Scholarship KRISTA NIETO Krista is attending school full-time as a clinical laboratory science major while working full-time as a medical laboratory technician for Marshfield Clinic Health System of Park Falls, WI. During her free time, Krista volunteers for organizations in her community.

About the Award Lenice Christine Merrill Eskritt was a wife, mother, and grandmother much beloved by her family. Her sensitivity and compassion for her follow beings served as an example to all who knew her. She was very intelligent but was unable to continue her education beyond high school. She valued education and encouraged her six children to pursue post-secondary education in order to give themselves as many opportunities as possible. This scholarship is meant to honor her memory and her potential. It is her family’s desire that someone with similar circumstances to Lenice’s is financially assisted by this scholarship to develop their potential through education.

WAHIDA OSMAN College of Professional Studies Dean's Award Outstanding Sophomore in Clinical Laboratory Science

Wahida is studying to become a clinical laboratory scientist to work in government laboratories or the private industry. She participated in a summer internship with the Milwaukee School of Engineering. She also participated in a research project that addressed the relationship between food insecurity and the risk of cardiovascular disease in U.S. adults.

Steven F. Schreiner Health Care Professions Memorial Scholarship

About the Award Friends and family of Steven Schreiner established this award when Steven tragically passed away. Steven graduated from UWSP in 2008 and enjoyed working as a Medical Technologist at Marshfield Clinic. We remember Steven as a kind and gentle person that loved toplay his guitar. Jaden is a clinical laboratory science major who is looking forward to becoming a certified medical laboratory scientist with an accredited hospital. He was inducted into the National Honors Society and works as a resident assistant for UWSP which has helped him develop leadership skills and stay connected with the campus community.

CASSIDY PIGEON College of Professional Studies Dean's Award Outstanding First Year Student of Clinical Laboratory Science Cassidy looks forward to working in the medical field of women's reproductive health following graduation. She hopes to become a medical laboratory scientist and work with fertility.

Taylor is enrolled in the Community and Organizational Leadership graduate program. While attending graduate classes, Taylor is the assistant director of Little Scholars Child Care and Preschool. After earning a master's degree, Taylor hopes to work in program management in a health care setting that provides resources specifically to mothers and infants.

Heise Memorial Scholarship Olivia is passionate about practicing speech- language pathology in the medical field. She has enjoyed the fast-paced environment as well as seeing the progress patients make in therapy sessions. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking and crocheting.

Cook-Chappell Memorial Scholarship DANIELLE BANASZYNSKI Danielle is very excited to be one step closer to becoming an audiologist and helping patients hear the best that they can. Outside of audiology, she loves spending time with family, being outdoors and seeing various theatrical productions. About the Award Awarded to a fourth-year student in the Clinical Doctorate in Audiology program. This award is based on academic scholarship, clinical expertise and performance, and having a pleasing interactive personality.

Marshfield Clinic Health System Audiology Scholarship Because of her personal experience growing up with a hearing loss, Kadie looks forward to a future of becoming an audiologist to inspire individuals to advocate for themselves and help them overcome the challenges associated with hearing loss. About the Award This scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to a first-year audiology graduate student at UWSP who demonstrates above average academic achievement, superior leadership skills, and declares an intention to dispense hearing instruments as part of the rehabilitative process.

Jennifer is currently a member in the National Student Speech and Hearing Association. Following graduation, she plans to obtain her master's degree and become a bilingual speech-language pathologist in a pediatric hospital or elementary school. Jennifer works to prove that Hispanic women can be independent and graduate college.

Jeff is a non-traditional student in the communication sciences and disorders program. He was an elementary music teacher for 11 years and looks forward to becoming a speech-language pathologist so he can work with children and their voices in new and meaningful ways. Becky graduated from UWSP with her bachelor's degree in May 2022 and is currently a first-year speech-language pathology graduate student. She was born and raised in the Stevens Point area and is devoted to serving the Central Wisconsin community as a speech-language pathologist upon graduation. MADELINE WOJCHIK College of Professional Studies Dean’s Outstanding Sophomore in CSD Madeline is a sophomore who is passionate about not only the CSD field, but art, music and dance. About the Award Awarded to a senior in the major who demonstrates academic excellence and will be entering the graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UWSP. Florence Donermeyer Scholarship Baylee is excited to continue her education within the master’s program at UW-Stevens Point, where she will be able to pursue her goals of making a positive impact as a clinician and as a lifelong student of speech-language pathology. Baylee looks forward to working with both adult and pediatric populations in graduate school, and is excited to see what her future holds as a speech-language pathologist. Her service to the department, faculty and students is exceptional and vital to our success.

Judy Lubenow Honorary Scholarship STEPHANIE BEMMANN Stephanie is majoring in dietetics with a minor in psychology. She is a member of both the national and state affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Stephanie also volunteers for The Cupboard food pantry on campus. Following graduation, Stephanie will complete an internship before she becomes a State of Wisconsin Certified Registered Dietitian. About the Award Judy spent 36 years in the dietetics field. She had a passion for UWSP students in dietetics as she spent time with them throughout her career. Creating a scholarship for a student has been a lone time dream for Judy and this scholarship was created to help students who share the same passion for dietetics as she had.

JENNIFER BISCEGLIA

About the Award Dr. Agnes (Anderson) Jones was a high school home economics teacher, a supervisor of home economics student teachers at UW-Madison, Home Economics Department Chair at Northern Illinois University, and the head of Home Economics at what was then Wisconsin State College-Stevens Point. Due to Dr. Jones and her faculty's innovation, they helped grow UWSP's home economics program enrollment from 100 to almost 800 and were awarded more than half a million federal dollars. She and Dr. Bonnie McDonald were early pioneers in the Wisconsin Head Start program. Dr. Jones is well known for personality advising over 200 students and for her active role in assuring employment for graduates. Dr. Agnes A. Jones Scholarship Jennifer is a dietetics 4+1 major and will graduate in 2023. She hopes to work in a specialized women's healthcare or prenatal care role. Jennifer enjoys hiking, reading, painting and visiting theme parks.

TREVOR DEBRUIN Dora Phelps Scholarship

About the Award This scholarship was established to honor Dora Phelps’ contributions to the School of Home Economics. As a program assistant she gave service beyond the call of duty to both students and faculty. Her capacity for work, efficiency, accuracy, patience, and good nature as well as her interest in the students and the knowledge of the School of Home Economics. She was a court reporter prior to her work at UWSP. Trevor is currently a member of Miles of Smiles and was on the dean’s list his first semester at UWSP. Following graduation, he hopes to become a sports dietitian for the UW-Madison Athletics Department or the UW-Madison wrestling team. During his free time, Trevor is passionate about cooking, fitness and athletics.

About the Award This scholarship was established in memory of Fay Finch Clifford who received her undergraduate degree in Home Economics from the University of North Dakota-Grand Forks. She completed her Master’s Degree in Home Economics at University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1963. Fay was a faculty member at UW- Stevens Point until her retirement. These scholarships were given to honor a loving mother and dedicated teacher. Fay Finch Clifford Scholarship Catie is a dietetics 4 + 1 major and serves as a co-president of the Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics where she enjoys hosting fundraising events. She is a student athlete and competes for UWSP's cross country and track teams. KIANNA HELLER Jane Wright Abrahamsen Home Economics Scholarship

About the Award This scholarship was created to honor the late Jane Wright Abrahamsen, by her husband Martin. Jane received a degree in home economics in 1928 and a bachelor's degree in home economics education in 1933, both from the Stevens Point Normal School. She then went on to get her master's degree from UW-Madison in 1936. Jane taught in the Montfomery County Schools in Maryland for 21 years, earning an outstanding teacher award from the state of Maryland. Kianna is a senior in dietetics and plans to attend UW- Madison to get her master's degree in clinical nutrition. Once she becomes a registered dietitian, Kianna hopes to work in pediatrics further exploring her passion for community nutrition and accessibility.

About the Award This scholarship was established by Bessie May Allen, Director of the Home Economics Department at UWSP for 39 years. Bessie May Allen shaped the home economics program at UWSP. She was vital in keeping the program alive, bringing it back to campus after the Board of Regents had voted to eliminate it. Bessie May Allen Scholarship Natalie is a junior in the dietetics program and hopes to earn a master's degree from UWSP. She is a student employee for the CPS Café and is also the dietetics program's food lab manager. Natalie plans to educate and empower people to eat healthy for improved quality of life.

Eric is completing his first year as a Doctor of Physical Therapy student. "The Posny scholar opportunity was a great experience for me to grow between graduating from undergrad and starting grad school. The experience not only helped me grow my skills in advocacy but also helped jumpstart my career as a physical therapy student and helped me grow as an individual to take on different challenges outside of my comfort zone. The opportunity exposed me to all the different things I can do while practicing as a PT. One is working with athletes and potentially doing a sports physical therapy residency upon graduation. Outside of school, I enjoy watching football, working out, and just about anything social."

About the Award The Alexa Posny Scholarship provides a PT or Pre-PT student with an internship at the American Physical Therapy Association national headquarters in Washington D.C. and continues advocacy efforts at the local level with APTA-Wisconsin. Recipients learn the important role the American Physical Therapy Association plays in advancing physical therapy practice, and advocate on behalf of the profession and patients in rural Wisconsin with our state and national political leaders.

Macey is a family and consumer sciences major. She is a member of the Stevens Point Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and while at UW-Platteville was a member of the Health and Human Performance Club. Following graduation, she hopes to earn a master's degree while working as a high school or middle school teacher of health education.

About the Award Lenice Christine Merrill Eskritt was a wife, mother, and grandmother much beloved by her family. Her sensitivity and compassion for her follow beings served as an example to all who knew her. She was very intelligent but was unable tocontinue her education beyond high school. She valued education and encouraged her six children to pursue post-secondary education in order to give themselves as many opportunities as possible. This scholarship is meant to honor her memory and her potential. It is her family’s desire that someone with similar circumstances to Lenice’s is financially assisted by this scholarship to develop their potential through education.

About the Award This scholarship was established to honor Dora Phelps’ contributions to the School of Home Economics. As a program assistant she gave service beyond the call of duty to both students and faculty. Her capacity for work, efficiency, accuracy, patience, and good nature as well as her interest in the students and the knowledge of the School of Home Economics. She was a court reporter prior to her work at UWSP. Maya is a family and consumer sciences major. She is a member of the Stevens Point Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and participates in the Leadership Empowerment and Discovery Bridge program. Following graduation, she plans to become a middle school or high school culinary teacher.

Allie is a family and consumer sciences major with an emphasis in child life and family studies. She is minoring in sociology and will earn a certificate in family adversity and adaptation. Allie attended the annual National Council on Family Relations national conference last year and is a member of the University Council on Family Relations.

About the Award This scholarship was established in memory of Fay Finch Clifford who received her undergraduate degree in Home Economics from the University of North Dakota-Grand Forks. She completed her Master’s Degree in Home Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1963. Fay was a faculty member at UW- Stevens Point until her retirement. These scholarships were given to honor a loving mother and dedicated teacher. Fay Finch Clifford Scholarship Abby is a first-year family and consumer sciences major. She is a member of the Stevens Point Association of Family and Consumer Sciences student organization. Following graduation, she hopes to become a middle or high school teacher. Abagail is passionate about cooking, baking and crafting.

M.E. Sjolin FCS Service Scholarship AUTUMN JOHNS Autumn is a senior family and consumer sciences major who is minoring in Spanish. She is a financial coach for the Financial Literacy Association and is a facilitator for a children's and youth support group at The Family Center. Autumn hopes to work in the trauma prevention field with children and adolescents. About the Award Mary Ellen Sjolin established this scholarship to award a family and consumer sciences student participating in a service trip or providing service to a community in a significant way.

About the Award Catherine (Hill) Lader earned two degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in FCS Education. The education she received at UWSP served her well as a classroom teacher, FCCLA adviser, state supervisor of FCS at the WI Department of Public Instruction, and a member of the National FCCLA Consultant Team. Catherine was heavily influenced by two role models at UWSP-Dr. Fern Horn and Dr. Agnes Jones. Both women were pioneers in the field of FCS and were dedicated to preparing their students thoroughly for a career in FCS. John and Catherine Lader continue to support FCS along with FCCLA and believe every secondary school in the state needs to have an FCS Program. John and Catherine Lader Scholarship Lynzie is a junior of the family and consumer sciences major. She is a member of the university, state and national chapters of the Amercian Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Lynzie hopes to become a middle school or high school teacher after graduation.

About the Award Fern Horn received her undergraduate degree from UWSP, master’s from UW-Stout, and doctorate from Michigan State University. She began her teaching career in 1934 teaching in rural schools in Clark County. She later taught high school home economics in Eau Claire, Schofield, and Mosinee. She taught at the college level at UW-Stout and the University of Minnesota. She taught home economics at UWSP for more than twenty years. She was a leader in developing instructional materials for use by home economics teachers across the county. Fern Horn retired from UWSP at the age of 62. Katie is a family and consumer sciences major who is minoring in health education. She is the vice president of the Stevens Point Family, Career and Community Leaders of America student chapter. Katie plans to become a middle school teacher and hopes to advocate the importance of family and consumer sciences in schools.

KIM TURNER

About the Award Dr. Agnes (Anderson) Jones was a high school home economics teacher, a supervisor of home economics student teachers at UW-Madison, Home Economics Department Chair at Northern Illinois University before she was appointed as head of Home Economics at what was then Wisconsin State College-Stevens Point in 1957. For the next 24 years, Dr. Jones headed home economics in its most successful years when enrollment grew from 100 to almost 800. Dr. Jones and her faculty were innovative creators of programs and during one five-year period received more than half a million federal dollars. She and Dr. Bonnie McDonald were early pioneers in the Wisconsin Head Start program. Dr. Jones is well known for personality advising over 200 students and for her active role in assuring employment for the graduates. emphasis in child life and family studies and a minor in sociology. Following graduation, she hopes to become a college academic adviser. She is a member of Stevens Point Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, University Council on Family Relations, and Gamma Phi Delta sorority. KELLY YEAKEY Donald & Eleanor Ansay Memorial Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarship Throughout her time at UWSP, Kelly has been encouraged to do things outside of her comfort zone and apply for different leadership roles to become a leaders for young adults in the future. About the Award This scholarship was established by UW-Stevens Point alumna, Karen McCulloch, to honor the memory of her parents, Donald and Eleanor Ansay. The Ansays firmly believed in the value of education. Their four children and several of their grandchildren attended UW-Stevens Point. Karen, herself, earned a Bachelor's of Science in Home Economics Education from UWSP in 1975 and a Master's of Science in 1978.

Joy is a senior health promotion and wellness major. Joy is a worship leader for the Campus Crusade for Christ International student organization and hopes to start her own health coaching practice after graduation.

About the Award This scholarship was created to recognize excellence in academic achievement and involvement in an outstanding senior majoring in Health Promotion.

RACHAEL BOUWER Booth Hardin Scholarship Rachael is a health science–pre-physical therapy major. She was involved in the Pre-Physical Therapy Club, Japanese Cultural Club, Psych Psi Club and Psychology Club student organizations. Rachael has extensively volunteered within the Stevens Point community at Central Rivers Farmshed, SPASH Cultural Festival and Operation Bootstrap. She is studying abroad this summer for three weeks in Europe. Rachael hopes to work as a licensed physical therapist in an orthopedic or skilled nursing facility.
