Greetings Burpengary Manor Community, As all of you who visit are aware there is major road works occurring at the front of the facility. Woolworths is building a new centre on the corner
of Buckley Rd and Ullman Road. This has impacted us quite a bit including the parking around the facility. We have just been informed that the car parking that was on the street will not be replaced, and this is unfortunate, but we were not given any information about this previously. I do send out emails to a lot of you so please keep any eye out for those as I will update you with as much information as possible when I can. With the chilly days I need to remind you all that knitted jumpers and cardigan still have to go through a commercial wash, so they are not always suitable for residents in aged care facilities. Any new items also need to be dropped off at admin office so that the items can be labelled for you residents before they are placed in the wardrobes. It is great to see the residents enjoying themselves with the planned activities as well as some spontaneous activities that occur on a day, their smiles are what we all work towards while being with them in their home. Please remember that I can be contacted if you would like to have a chat or raise something with me. My mobile number is 0499904058. Annette, Facility Manager

Community Happenings Autumn Autumn at Burpengary Manor has been a season of joy, growth, reflection and celebration. Across March, April and May, our community embraced every opportunity to come together; whether through music, gardening, special events or visits. From the buzz of Harmony Week to the peacefulness of Anzac Day, and from the laughter of St. Patrick’s Day games to the warm hugs of Mother’s Day, this season has shown the heart of Burpengary: connected, caring, and thriving. Scenic Adventures & Social Outings Autumn was full of breathtaking views and community connection as residents travelled near and far. March brought scenic trips to Bribie Island, Woodford, Peachester and Beerwah, with the warmth of sun and sea air topped off by sweet McDonald's treats. In April, we ventured along the Redcliffe coastline and took in peaceful views. May featured trips to Maleny, Beachmere, and a cheerful outing to Donnybrook and Toorbul, filled with nature, laughter and discovery. These shared adventures remind us that joy truly grows when it’s shared.
Memory Support Moments Our Memory Support team continued to offer enriching and creative programs throughout the season. Residents enjoyed music therapy with Grace, bingo, crafts, garden projects, and engaging games. They contributed immensely to the development of our new greenhouse, adding energy and pride to the process. Special moments included Easter-themed activities, interactive cognitive games, and quiet sessions of knitting and pot decorating —always with purpose, care and laughter.
Community Happenings Autumn
Music, Movement & Entertainment There was music in the air this autumn, with performances that brought joy and rhythm into every corner of Burpengary. Residents enjoyed regular concerts and singalongs, including standout performances by Rob Stevenson in both April and May. Grace’s music therapy and spontaneous musical sessions by residents added to the melodic mix, uplifting moods and sparking smiles.
Seasonal Celebrations & Special Days We embraced the season’s big moments with heartfelt celebrations. St. Patrick’s Day was full of Irish flair—festive food, river dancing, and plenty of laughter. In April, our Easter High Tea brought together tasty treats, raffles, and themed photos, while Anzac Day was respectfully commemorated with stories, ceremonies and shared pride. In May, we celebrated all the wonderful women of Burpengary with a week of pampering, a beautiful High Tea, floral gifts, and music.

Community Happenings Autumn Gardening & Greenhouse Growth Our gardening group bloomed with pride this season! March marked the expansion of our beloved garden into a full greenhouse, creating a vibrant space for nurturing both plants and friendships. With pot painting, planting, and outdoor sessions, residents worked alongside student helpers and even welcomed visitors from Strathpine Aged Care for a shared afternoon of green-thumb joy.
Community Visits & Connections Autumn reminded us of the power of community beyond our walls. Therapy dogs Tyson and Xena brought warmth and cuddles, student volunteers helped in the garden, and visits from the Deception Bay Neighbourhood Centre during Harmony Week encouraged beautiful connections. We also welcomed guests from Strathpine Aged Care for a guided garden walk and afternoon tea, building bonds and stories to cherish. Games, Crafts & Everyday Joys From morning exercise to indoor bowls, from bingo laughs to afternoon tea chats—every day brought something joyful. Whether it was painting garden pots, sipping cappuccinos on a rainy day, or enjoying spontaneous performances and household concerts, the rhythm of life at Burpengary was steady, uplifting and full of meaning. The atmosphere was made even cosier with the new record player setup in the Café, spinning tunes and sparking memories.
Message from David
Hello families and friends of our Burpengary Manor residents, We are delighted to invite you to celebrate NAIDOC Week with us on Friday, 4th July, we will be doing a bus trip to Caboolture Town Square
at 10:00 AM as we honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Families are warmly welcome to meet us there and share in this meaningful event. As part of our ongoing commitment to celebrating cultural diversity, each month we explore a different culture with themed morning tea in the café, where residents enjoy tasting traditional foods. This is followed by armchair travel in the activity room—an immersive experience exploring the sights and sounds of different countries. We’re also excited to announce that the Henny Penny chickens will be arriving at Burpengary Manor on 4th August. Residents and families are invited to come and watch these adorable chicks hatch and grow—it’s a heart-warming experience for all ages. Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome the Rothwell School kindy children on 10th July. The children will be visiting our residents throughout the morning, bringing joy, laughter, and a wonderful opportunity for intergenerational connection. We look forward to sharing these special moments with you! We’re always striving to make our activity program even better. If you have any ideas, feedback, or suggestions, we’d love for you to share them with us. David & The Lifestyle Team
