Možda Beograd nema more iza kojeg sunce može da potone ili palme koje prave čudne senke, ali zato beogradski suton ima nezaboravno nebo, koje se svake večeri boji drugim bojama. I koliko god da pazite i trudite se da ulovite nijansu koja se ponavlja, beogradsko se nebo neće ponoviti. Ovu nijansu crvene uhvatio je naš fotograf Zoran Ilić. Samo te večeri i nikad više. Belgrade perhaps doesn’t have a sea beyond which the sun can sink or palm trees that form strange shadows in the twilight, but Belgrade’s sunsets do have an unforgettable sky, which is coloured each evening in different hues. And no matter how much care and attention you take to try to recreate the shades that appear, the Belgrade sky will not repeat itself. This red hue was captured by our photographer Zoran Ilić. Tamara Ognjević, istoričarka umetnosti, pisac i gastroheritolog, jedna je od vodećih kulturnih navigatora u Srbiji. Tamara Ognjević , an art historian, writer and expert in culinary heritage, is one of Serbia’s leading cultural navigators. A founder and director of the Artis Centre, she is a member of the board of the largest international museum network, an independent researcher of the European Institute for Food History and Cultures, and much more. For this issue she brought us lesser-known and very interesting Easter stories.
Marija Plečić (eks Radojković) bavi se novinarstvom 13 godina. Karijeru je počela u dnevnom listu Blic , u kojem je danas pomoćnica izvršnog urednika rubrike Zabava . Više od svog posla voli putovanja, a plan joj je da do kraja života proputuje ceo svet. U ovom broju vam donosi čudesnu priču o prelepom Tajlandu – glavnom gradu Bangkoku, ostrvu Koh Pangan i severnom gradiću Čijang Raiju. Marija Plečić (formerly Radojković) has been working in journalism for 13 years. She began her career at daily newspaper Blic, where she is today assistant executive editor of entertainment. She loves travelling more than her job and plans to tour the entire world by the end of her life. For this issue she brings us the wondrous story of beautiful Thailand – its capital city of Bangkok, the island of Koh Pha Ngan and the northern city of Chiang Rai.

Trenutno je okupirana dokumentovanjem beogradske scene. Istraživanje podržava radeći strit art ture putem projekta Street Art Walks Belgrade . Tako nas je u ovom broju odvela do sjajnih murala koje su našem gradu ostavili strani umetnici. Ljiljana Radoševi ć is an art historian who’s been researching graffiti and street art since the year 2000. Apart from Belgrade, she’s conducted her research in Paris, London, Berlin and Barcelona, while she’s currently occupied documenting the Belgrade scene. She supports her research work by working on street art tours via the project Street Art Walks Belgrade. And in this issue she leads us to brilliant murals left behind in our city by foreign artists.

Despite the fact that not all biological functions of sleep are fully understood, we all know that sleep is important, and not just in terms of the length of time spent sleeping, but also its quality. Matthew Walker Ph.D., professor of neuroscience and psychology at UC Berkeley, writing in the book“Why we sleep? Unlocking the power of sleep and dreams”, draws at- tention to the reduction of longevity associated with the fact that man is the only biological species that deprives himself of sleep unjusti ably. This has prompted the World Health Organisation to declare an epidemic in lack of sleep among industrialised nations. Many factors exist that compromise the physiology of sleep, and among healthy people an in- adequate surface for sleep is the most common reason why time spent sleeping doesn’t achieve its purpose.
HOW TO CHOOSE A SURFACE FOR SLEEP?
Considering that a bed is the item of furniture that we use the most, buying a surface on which to sleep mustn’t be an arbitrary choice. A mattress should be tested, and precise- ly in the way that it is used – by lying on it. Two main crite- ria exist when it comes to buying a good mattress: that it is produced to superior quality and that it suits the customer! As such, familiarity with the technology and characteristics

Izložba na otvorenom, u divnom prostoru Savamale, na obali Save, biće u okviru Beogradskog irskog festivala, dostupna publici do 15. aprila, a predstavlja primere i značenje hrišćanskih građevina i simbola u crkvenoj umetnosti u Irskoj i Srbiji. Uprkos veoma različitim kontekstima u prošlosti, kao i velikoj udaljenosti, gde je jedna država ostrvo okruženo okeanom, a druga bez pristupa moru, ali pozicionirana na jednom od najznačajnijih evropskih raskršća, na prikazanim fotografijama vide se ipak velike sličnosti u arhitekturi manastirskih kompleksa, kula i zvonika, kamene plastike, isposnica i skitova, iluminiranih knjiga, nakita. Sve to upućuje na transevropske uticaje hrišćanstva u toku srednjeg veka (5–15. vek). Neki simboli, kao što je keltski krst (sa kružnom pozadinom), neverovatno podsećaju na pravoslavni ravnokraki krst, koji je u srpskom pejzažu opšteprisutan. Izložba nam predočava sličnosti između ova dva primera hrišćanstva udaljenih evropskih kultura, koje vidimo čak i kroz pejzaže oblikovane duhovnim podsticajima.
Belgrade Representations and manifestations of christianity
This open-air exhibition in the beautiful location of Savamala, on the bank of the river Sava, is available to the public within the scope of the Belgrade Irish Festival until 15 th April and presents medieval representations and manifestations of Christianity in the church art of Ireland and Serbia Despite very different historical contexts and the vast distances separating them, with one a remote island nation surrounded by an ocean and the other landlocked but strategically located on of one of Europe’s most important crossroads, the images presented nevertheess show strong parallels between Christian monastic complexes, towers and belfries, stone sculptures, anchorites, illuminating books and jewellery. All of this points to the trans- European influence of Christianity during the medival period (5 th to 15 th centuries). Some symbols, such as Ireland’s Celtic cross (enveloped in a circle), bear a striking resemblance to the Orthodox cross commonly seen across the landscape in Serbia. The Exhibition shows us close similarities between aspects of these two distant European cultures’ representation of Christianity that we even see through landscapes shaped by formative religious forces.

Club Porto Montenegro will host the prestigious world RC44 sailing regat- ta from 10 th to 14 th April. This regat- ta is interesting for its rule stipulat- ing that 50 per cent of the crew of each vessel should be composed of professional sailors, while the oth- er 50 per cent must be amateurs in this sport. As such, this tour allows everyone to operate under the men- torship of the best sailors and to learn the nesses of conquering the winds. The RC44 regatta is a fantastic opportunity to launch the nautical season in the Mediterranean.
Klub Porto Montenegro biće domaćin prestižne svetske RC44 jedriličarske regate od 10. do 14. aprila. Bob Dylan, American music legend and one of the greatest singer/songwriters of the 20 th century, is again touring, at the age of 77. Audiences in Prague will have the opportunity to enjoy his concerts on 7 th , 8 th and 9 th April in the Lucerna Palace Great Hall. Through his wonderful lyrics, Dylan has – throughout his career – voiced his rebellion against the politics and social dogmas of his time, addressing problems of religion and faith, while also singing about love. His songs are timeless, while his original voice and style are an inspiration for people around the world.

The goal of the Holmene Project is to increase the attractiveness of the Danish capital in the eyes of the business world, while the project is also expected to solve the land shortage problem in the Danish capital.

S rbija nije zemlja jeftine radne snage već pametnih, kre- ativnih ljudi, zemlja koja će, sigurna sam, biti jedan od pobednika četvrte industrijske revolucije i zemlja koja će napraviti iskorak, rekla je premijerka Ana Brnabić na otvaranju radnog prostora za putnike na Aerodromu Niko- la Tesla . Prostor na aerodromu, gde će putnici imati prostor za rad, efikasan internet i gde će dobiti informacije o habovima u Srbiji, kreirali su mladi srpski umetnici i dizajneri okupljeni oko platforme Serbia creates , koju je osmislio Savet za kreativne industrije , na inicijativu premijerke Ane Brnabić. The area allocated at the airport, where travellers will have space to work and an e cient internet connection, but will also receive information about hubs in Serbia, was created by young Serbian artists and designers gathered around the platform Serbia Creates, which was itself created by the Creative Industries Council, at the initiative of PM Brnabić. The Prime Minister herself said that it is important for Serbia to show itself in a di er- ent light, as it possesses enormous potential, given that we’re a country of innovative, creative people who can o er a lot to the world. “I was considering how we can present this potential to the world, and with the support of the Creative Industries Council, which has unsel sh- ly shared its knowledge and experience, and its international connection, we created the brand of Serbia as a country that creates,” said PM Brnabić. She noted that the creative industries, along with the IT sector, are among the fastest growing sectors and activities, employing 115,000 people aged between 25 and 45, and also stressed that a great partnership exists be- tween Nikola Tesla Airport and Air Serbia, given that the airport is the rst place many people see when they arrive in Serbia. “Now with Air Serbia, we have a branded plane, on a ight to New York, and we’re again showing the entire world what Serbia has to o er,”said Brnabić. She announced a series of activities for this year that will present Ser- bia in a di erent light, so on 21 st September a retrospective exhibition of Marina Abramović will be organised, while on 23 rd May the ‘World Minds’ event will bring great minds to Belgrade to show their latest innovations. Šta je Teslagram i kako je nastao? – Teslagram je tehnologija za najbolji sistem zaštite od falsifiko- vanja dokumenata, kreditnih kartica, novčanica, umetničkih dela, hartija od vrednosti, podataka. Posebnost ove tehnologije je to što koristi ljus- pice sa krila leptira kao zaštitne ele- mente. Ova inovacija se od 2011. go- dine razvija u Institutu za fiziku kroz projekat naučnih istraživanja Mini- starstva prosvete, nauke i tehnolo- škog razvoja i Fonda za inovacionu delatnost Republike Srbije. Multi- disciplinarni i međunarodni Tesla- gram tim broji više od 20 fizičara, inženjera i biologa. Na koji način ljuspice krila leptira štite od falsifikovanja? – Na krilima leptira nalazi se vi- še od 100.000 jedinstvenih ljuspica, pomoću kojih se može zaštititi isto toliki broj predmeta. Svaka ljuspi- ca je drugačija (kao otisak prsta), ima specifičnu strukturu i ne može
se kopirati. Kada se ljuspice skinu i na- lepe na predmete, dobija se Teslagram. To se radi po svim etičkim standardima i bez ubijanja leptira. Koja je razlika između Teslagra- ma i digitalnog futprinta i na ko- ji način Teslagram štiti umetnič- ka dela, na primer slike? – Kao što digitalni futprint obezbe- đuje sigurnu informaciju u digitalnoj for- mi, Teslagram to čini u fizičkom svetu. Zaštita umetničkih dela radi po princi- pu da se ljuspica nanese na sliku. Pro- vera autentičnosti slike se vrši očitava- njem ljuspice. What is Teslagram and how did it originate? Teslagram is technology for the best system of protection against forgeries of documents, credit cards, banknotes, artworks, secu- rities and data. The specificity of this technology is that it uses flakes from butterfly wings as protective elements. This innovation has been developing at the Institute of Phys- ics since 2011, through a project for scientific research of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technolog- ical Development and the Innova- tion Fund of the Republic of Serbia. The Teslagram’s multidisciplinary and international team comprises more than 20 physicists, engineers and biologists. How do flakes from butter- fly wings protect against forgery? The wings of a butterfly have over a hundred-thousand unique flakes that can protect the same number of objects. Each flake is different (like a fingerprint), with a specific structure, and can’t be cop- ied. When the flakes are removed and stuck to items, a Teslagram is obtained. This is done according to all ethical standards and with- out killing butterflies. What is the difference be- tween a Teslagram and a digital footprint, and how can the Teslagram protect an artwork, like a painting, for example? Just as a digital footprint en- sures secure information in a digi- tal form, a Teslagram does so in the physical world. The protection of artworks is done according to the principle of applying a flake to the image. Checking the authenticity of the image is done by reading the flake. The Teslagram will be present- ed to the world’s public in Belgrade on 23 rd May 2019 during the pres- tigious World Minds event, which brings together more than 400 world leaders of innovation, sci- ence, technology, economics, art and medicine. This gathering will also see presentations by two other creative ambassadors of the Serbia Creates platform: The BioSense In- stitute, the centre for digital solu- tions in agriculture, and 3Lateral, a leading producer of digital hu- mans technology.

Kruševac, the city built at the behest of Prince Lazar, is located on the River Rasina. The capital city of the Serbian medieval state, is still recognised today as the “Emperor’s City”. Ribarska Spa and Jastrebac Mountain are located in close proximity to the city, while the urban core includes Bagdala Hill, the Slobodište Memorial Complex and the Church of the Holy First Martyr.
