Toute personne âgée de 18 ans et plus peut prendre rendez-vous pour se faire vacciner en Ontario, une semaine avant la date prévue. Mardi à 8 heures, tous les adultes âgés de 18 ans et plus ont été rendus admis- sibles aux réservations dans les cliniques de vaccination de masse de la province. Le gouvernement devait rendre les vaccina- tions admissibles à toutes les personnes qui auront 30 ans ou plus en 2021 cette semaine, les personnes âgées de 18 à 29 ans devant devenir admissibles la semaine prochaine. L’éligibilité inclut les personnes qui ont actuellement 17 ans, mais qui auront 18 ans plus tard en 2021 (celles nées en 2003). Les réservations à l’échelle de la province pour les personnes âgées de 12 à 17 ans devraient être disponibles au cours de la semaine du 31 mai, mais les unités de santé publique locales seront autorisées à administrer des doses aux personnes de cette tranche d’âge dès cette semaine. Le gouvernement a déclaré que la livraison anticipée de la cargaison de vaccins du 24 mai était à l’origine de la décision d’étendre l’éligibilité à toutes les personnes de 18 ans et plus cette semaine. Provincial aid for the ambulance service is on the minds of Prescott-Russell’s mayors. This year’s provincial budget includes a three-year funding assistance plan for three of Ontario’s regional ambulance services. But Prescott-Russell’s ambulance program is not on that exclusive list. “Prescott-Russell was excluded in that,” said Marc-André Périard, emergency services director, in a brief verbal report to the United Counties of Prescott-Russell council (UCPR) during its May 12 session.
Russell Township Mayor Pierre Leroux noted that last year, when he was warden, the UCPR sent a letter to the provincial government asking about help dealing with the ambulance service’s costs. That includes the outstanding $1 million debt that the City of Ottawa owes for using UCPR ambulances to deal with some of its emergency calls. The UCPR has received no response to its query. The eight mayors on UCPR council agreed to add ambulance funding to its list of dele- gation issues for this year’s AMO conference.

La Corporation de la ville de Hawkesbury a tenu une réunion extraordinaire du conseil, le 6 mai dernier, pour entendre l’opinion des citoyens sur un projet d’amendement au règlement de zonage. Le projet proposé a pour but de modifier l’usage du terrain bordant le ruisseau au coin sud-est du croisement entre l’avenue Chartrand et la rue Omer, comme expliqué par Céleste Cordonnier, planificatrice de la ville de Hawkesbury. On souhaite aussi rezoner le terrain d’espace vert à résidentiel de densité 3, pour permettre le développe- ment de quatre maisons de ville en rangées superposées. Chacune d’elle serait composée de huit unités pour un total de trente-deux unités de logement. Pour ce faire, il serait nécessaire de prolonger l’avenue Chartrand d’environ trente mètres, en direction sud. Durant la réunion extraordinaire du conseil, quelques citoyens ont pu commu- niquer leurs craintes et poser des questions. native flowers and plants from pollinator “starter packs” in their communities. Ranger Alicia Heinzle said the response in the library’s first year of participating was fantastic. The starter packs were made available at the library last Thursday, and the project was expected to expand in the coming years. The Butterflyway Project grew in popularity during the pandemic. Only nine cities had recruited volunteer rangers during 2019, while more than 100 communities were involved by the end of 2020. Other communities that had signed up for the Butterflyway project in the region included 4BJOU1BTDBM .BYWJMMF 4PVUI(MFOHBSSZ 3VT - sell, Rigaud, and multiple neighbourhoods in Ottawa.
More than 30 volunteers are creating a better environment for pollinators in the Champlain and East Hawkesbury townships. Champlain Library was chosen to take part in the “Butterflyway Project”, a David Suzuki Foundation initiative to promote the propagation of native wildflowers and plants in local communities. The plants were intended to benefit pol- linators, such as bees and butterflies, around the community. The Vankleek Hill and District Horticultural Society and Foodland Vankleek Hill donated seeds and bulbs for the project. Thirty-one residents from Champlain and East Hawkesbury volunteered to plant the

Take notice that the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury will hold a public meeting on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. virtually in order to consider a proposed Amendment to Zoning By-law N o 20-2018 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13. The purpose of the application is to rezone the subject land from Institutional (I) to Residential Zone 4 (R4) and to permit the reduction of parking spaces from 1.5 spaces per dwelling unit to 1 space per dwelling unit. The developer proposes an apartment building with 24 dwelling units. The parking spaces will be mostly underground. The Zoning By-law Amendment application will be specific to the property located at the south-west corner of the intersection between Spence Avenue and Industrial Boulevard, as being Part 1 of Lot 11 on Plan M-18, in the Town of Hawkesbury, County of Prescott. If a person or public body would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury before the zoning by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury before the zoning by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so. Following the Public Health guidelines, this meeting will take place virtually in order to comply with the current health rules.
