Les équipes de travail ont terminé l’épandage de gravier concassé sur le tronçon de 3,5 km, à partir de la concession 7 jusqu’aux intersections de la concession 5 et du chemin de comté 10. Le pavage de cette section de route aura lieu au printemps prochain. The tree has an average lifespan of between 100 and 150 years, and many of the red pine plantations in the Larose Forest are near the 90-year mark and becoming more susceptible to disease as they age. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell, which manages the community forest through its planning and forestry department, will focus now on steps to support the growth of younger generations of red pine to maintain the Larose Forest red pine profile.– Gregg Chamberlain

Au moins 1210 abonnés d’Hydro-Québec étaient encore touchés par 59 pannes d’électricité dans la MRC d’Argenteuil lundi matin. Selon les premiers chiffres fournis par la société d’État dans la matinée du 4 novembre, c’est le canton de Gore qui a été le plus frappé avec 547 clients privés de courant sur 1700 abonnés. Lachute s’en sort avec 111 personnes sans électricité sur 7632, Brownsburg-Chatham avec 109 clients touchés sur 4241 tandis que Saint- André-d’Argenteuil a vu 78 de ses citoyens sans courant sur un total de 1783. Le Village de Grenville serait le mieux loti avec zéro abonné sans électricité dans la MRC, à en croire les données d’Hydro- Québec. À noter qu’une mise à jour de ces données se faisait toutes les heures lorsqu’elles nous ont été communiquées. Pour ce qui est des dommages causés par cette tempête automnale, le vendredi 1er novembre, certains maires de la MRC d’Argenteuil ont reconnu que leur ville avait subi des dégâts négligeables. « Il n’y avait rien de spécial. Je n’ai pas entendu qu’il y avait des foyers dans le trouble », a concédé Catherine Trickey, mairesse de Brownsburg-Chatham. Andropause: what is it?
Are you looking for a new fragrance? Here’s a guide to help you navigate the dizzying variety of products avai- lable. TYPES All perfumed fragrances are made by mixing different ratios of perfume oils (also called essential oils or per- fume essence) with alcohol. The more essential oils that there are in a pro- duct, the longer the aroma lingers — and the more expensive the bottle is. Here’s a breakdown of how much essential oil is in these products: • Eau de cologne: three to five per cent • Eau de toilette: six to 12 per cent • Eau de parfum: 13 to 19 per cent • Perfume: 20 to 40 per cent FRAGRANCES A fragrance’s intensity should suit your personality and style. The smell should bring up fond memories and
feelings of confidence, security and calm. Fruity, aquatic and citrusy notes are great for those who want to project strength, spontaneity and fun. Woody, spicy and earthy fragrances, on the other hand, allow you to adopt an air of confidence, virility and mystery. SAMPLING Don’t try too many fragrances at once, otherwise you won’t be able to tell them apart. Once you’ve found some- thing you like, apply some of it to your wrist, if possible, and then wait until the next day to purchase it. The delay will let you discern the complexities of the fragrance and decide whether you like wearing it. To start your search for a new fra- grance, simply visit a nearby phar- macy, department store or cosmetic counter.
Testosterone levels in men gra- dually diminish as they age. As a result, many experience an array of changes as they get older. While there’s no such thing as a “male me- nopause,” some doctors refer to the collection of symptoms caused by shifting hormone levels in men as andropause. ANDROPAUSE SYMPTOMS As testosterone levels decline, men may experience the following: • Sexual changes. This can in- clude reduced libido, erectile dysfunction and infertility. In addi- tion, the testes may become smal- ler. • Sleep changes. Insomnia, disrup- ted sleep patterns and increased sleepiness are common. • Physical changes. Increased body fat, decreased bone density and loss of muscle mass may occur. There could also be a loss of body hair and the breasts may become tender and swollen. Though rare, hot flashes and a decrease in energy are also possible. • Emotional changes. Loss of moti- vation, decreased confidence,
heightened irritability and even depression can occur as a result of declining testosterone levels. Memory and concentration is- sues can also arise in some cases. Since these symptoms can be caused by many conditions as well as by poor lifestyle choices, it’s im- portant to visit a doctor if you no- tice them. SELF-CARE AS YOU AGE In many cases, the symptoms of low testosterone levels can be miti- gated by a healthy diet and staying mentally and physically active. In addition, eliminating unhealthy ha- bits (like smoking and drinking) will help improve your overall well- being. It’s also important to consult your doctor if you notice any worri- some symptoms and to follow their recommendations.
Testosterone supplements can be used to treat age-related low testosterone, but it’s a controversial solution. It can relieve symptoms in some men but has little effect for others and carries significant risks of cardiovascular problems and could increase the incidence of prostate cancer.

La première période s’est terminée sans qu’aucune des deux équipes n’ait réussi à marquer un point. Les Grads ont dominé la première moitié de la deuxième période avec une avance de 3 à 0, grâce à des buts de Gabriel Crete, Wil Murray et Blake Butler. Butler et Zane Dalpe pour Crète, Devyn Orpana et Curtis Fabbro pour Murray, et Dalpe et Crète pour Butler ont contribué aux buts. Les Nats ont marqué dans la deuxième moitié de la période avec des buts d’Alex Frechette et Cameron Pound, qui ont marqué sur un jeu de puissance. Next spring the Town of Hawkesbury will be the site for the Fred Page Cup Tournament, one of the biggest hockey events in Eastern Canada. “This is a fairly large event,” said Nicole Trudeau, parks and recreation director. “We will be seeing lots of people coming here.” The Hawkesbury Hawks Junior A Club succeeded in claiming host privileges for the 2020 tournament. Now the club and the parks and recreation department will begin working together on all the pre-tournament planning needed to guarantee a successful venue, before the first puck drops at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex in May for the five-day tournament. “We will be looking for volunteers,” said Trudeau. “We are getting together a tourna- ment planning committee.” A call for assistance with tournament organization will go out through the muni- cipal website and other media, once the planning committee has reviewed and com- piled a list of needs for the tournament. Trudeau noted that other Fred Page Cup tournaments at other venues have meant at least several thousand visitors coming in to a community during the five days of the
event. Hawkesbury’s Robert Hartley Sports Complex has a 1000-seat capacity for its arena. “This will give us a good visibility profile for Eastern Canada, and Canada as a whole,” she concluded.
