الظفرة للتمور تحــت رعايــة ســمو الشــيخ حمــدان بــن زايــد آل نهيــان ممثــل الحاكــم في منطقـة الظفـرة، تنظـم هيئـة أبوظبـي لـلتراث الـدورة الخامسـة مـن الظفـرة للتمــور، في مدينــة زايــد وتــأتي هــذه الــدورة اســتمرارا لنهــج ومــسيرة مؤســس النهضــة الزراعيــة في الدولــة، المغفــور لــه بــإذن اللــه تعــالى الشــيخ زايــد بــن ســلطان آل نهيــان «طيــب اللــه ثــراه»، وتأكيــدا على دور القيـادة الرشـيدة في دعـم الزراعـة والمـزارعين والمحافظـة على المـوروث والعـادات والتقاليـد وصونهـا، وترسـيخ مكانـة النخيـل رمـزا لأصالـة الماضي وخيرا للحــاضر وضمانــة للغــد. ويتضمــن المهرجــان العديــد مــن الفعاليــات والأنشـطة التراثيـة الهادفـة لتشـجيع قطاعـي إنتـاج وتصنيـع التمـور وعـرض أجـود أصنـاف التمـور للمسـاهمة في تحقيـق استراتيجيـة الأمـن الغـذائي، وتسـليط الضـوء على أفضـل ممارسـات الزراعـة الحديثـة، وتشـجيع الزراعـة المســتدامة للارتقــاء بهــذا القطــاع المهــم والحيــوي.

Al Dhafra Dates

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority organises the fifth edition of the Al Dhafra Dates in Madinat Zayed. This event continues the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the visionary architect of the UAE’s agricultural renaissance, and underscores the wise leadership’s commitment to supporting agriculture and farmers, preserving the nation’s cultural heritage, customs, and traditions, and reinforcing the status of the date palm as a symbol of the nation’s authentic past, a source of present-day prosperity, and a promise for the future. The festival features a variety of heritage-inspired activities and events designed to promote date production and processing, showcase the finest date varieties in support of the nation’s food security strategy, highlight best practices in modern agriculture, and encourage sustainable farming to strengthen this vital sector.

Festival’s Objectives • Preserving and safeguarding the heritage associated with date palms and dates in the UAE, while maintaining its inherited knowledge and traditional practices. • Showcasing the expertise of Emirati farmers and their role in preserving date palm heritage and passing it on to future generations. • Raising awareness of date varieties and the criteria that determine their value and quality. • Reviving auction practices, bidding etiquette, and the social relationships and traditions associated with them. • Engaging children, youth, and families in immersive experiences that strengthen their connection to Emirati heritage, particularly that related to the date palm. • Highlighting the crafts, foods, and social customs associated with date palms, and their role in the daily lives of the people of the UAE. • Contributing, in collaboration with partners, to promoting local products, facilitating knowledge exchange among farmers, enhancing production quality, and supporting the food security ecosystem.

• صــون المــوروث المرتبــط بالنخلــة والتمــور في الإمــارات والمحافظــة عــى معارفــه وممارســاته المتوارثــة. • إبــراز خــرات المزارعــن الإماراتيــن ودورهــم في حفــظ تــراث النخلــة ونقلــه بــن الأجيــال. • التعريف بأصناف التمور والمعايير التي تحدد قيمتها. • إحيــاء ممارســات المــزاد وآداب المزايــدة ومــا يرتبــط بهــا مــن علاقــات اجتماعيــة وتقاليــد موروثــة. • إشراك الأطفــال والشــباب والعائــات في تجــارب حيــة تعــزز ارتباطهــم بالــراث الإمــاراتي ولاســيما المرتبــط بالنخلــة. • إبـراز الحـرف والأطعمـة والعـادات الاجتماعية المرتبطـة بالنخيل، ودورهـا في الحيـاة اليوميـة لأهـل الإمارات. • الإســهام، بالتعــاون مــع الــركاء في إبــراز المنتــج المحــي وتبــادل الخــرات بــن المزارعــن وتعزيــز جــودة الإنتــاج ودعــم منظومــة الأمــن الغــذائي.

شـــروط وأحكــــام المسابقـــة

• أن يكـون التمـر مـن الإنتـاج المحـي لدولـة الإمـارات العربيـة المتحـدة .2026 لعــام • أن يكـون التمـر مـن إنتـاج مزرعـة المشـارك الخاصـة مـع إبـراز مسـتندات ملكيـة الأرض الزراعيـة. • لـكل فـرد الحـق في المشـاركة بفئتـن مـن فئـات المسـابقة، بالإضافـة إلى شـوط النخبـة المتـاح للجميـع. • ألا تقـل الأصنـاف المـراد المشـاركة بهـا في شـوط النخبـة للتمـور عـن أصنـاف. 5 • قبول المشارك بقرارات لجنة التحكيم. • أداء القسم الخاص بالشوط المراد المشاركة فيه. • تســليم المشــاركات حســب التواريــخ المحــددة لــكل فئــة مــن الســاعة ظهـراً، ولـن تقبـل أيـة مشـاركات بعـد انقضـاء 12:00 صباحـا ولغايـة 8:00 الوقـت المحـدد. • تعود أحقية التصرف بالتمور المشارك بها للجنة المنظمة. • التمــور التــي لم تحصــل عــى مركــز في أي شــوط يتــم إدخالهــا في المــزاد، وتكــون قيمتهــا مــن حــق المشــارك.

• Dates must be locally produced in the UAE for 2026. • Dates must come from the participant’s own farm, with proof of land ownership provided. • Each participant may enter two competition categories, in addition to the Elite Round. • Participants in the Elite Round must submit no fewer than five date varieties. • Participants must accept the decisions of the judging panel. • Participants are required to take the oath specific to the category in which they are competing. • Entries must be submitted on the specified dates for each category between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; late entries will not be accepted. • The organizing committee shall assume ownership of all submitted dates. • Dates that do not place in any round will be entered into the auction, with their proceeds going to the participant.

• أل ّا تتضمن المشاركة الواحدة أكثر من صنف واحد ضمن فئات الأشواط الفردية. • 50 أل ّا تقــل الكميــة المــراد المشــاركة بهــا في الأشــواط الفرديــة عــن كجــم للصنــف الواحــد. • كجـم 15 أل ّا تقـل الكميـة المـراد المشـاركة بهـا في شـوط النخبـة عـن لـكل صنـف وأن تكـون أصنافـا تجاريـة. • خلو التمور من الآفات ومن الحشرات أو بيوضها أو يرقاتها أو مخلفاتها. • خلو التمور من العيوب الظاهرة. • خلـو التمـور مـن أي رائحـة أو طعـم غـر طبيعيـن وخلوهـا مـن أي آثـار معدنيـة أو رمليـة مثـل النـدب وغـره. • أن يكون التمر بحجم مناسب. • خلــو التمــر مــن بقايــا المبيــدات والأســمدة الكيميائيــة، حيــث ســيتم فحــص الإنتــاج الفائــز مخبريــاً. • تقديــم التمــور لجميــع فئــات المســابقة في صناديــق مخصصــة للمســابقة تســلم للمشــاركين مــن قبــل اللجنــة. مواصفـات التمـور ومعايير المشاركـات

Date Specifications and Entry Criteria

• Each entry in the individual rounds must consist of a single date variety. • The minimum quantity for individual round entries is 50 kg per variety. • For the Elite Round, each variety must be no less than 15 kg and should be of commercial nature. • Dates must be free from pests, insects, eggs, larvae, or their residues. • Dates must be free from visible defects. • Dates must be free from any abnormal odors or flavors and free metallic or sandy residues, or blemishes. • Dates must be of appropriate size. • Dates must be free from pesticide or chemical fertilizer residues; winning entries will undergo laboratory testing. • All entries must be submitted in competition-provided boxes, which will be supplied to participants by the organizing committee.

Al-Fard These dates are characterized by their uniform shape and dark brown color. There are two main types: Liwa Fard and Al Ain Fard. They ripen late in the season and are distinguished by being free of fat and cholesterol. Widely cultivated across the UAE, Al-Fard is an important commercial variety in Abu Dhabi. A popular saying about it goes: “Al-Fard is the pillar of the land: if you eat it, you are content; if you sell it, you prosper.” Al-Dabbas Al-Dabbas is a low-sugar date variety with an oval shape and light brown color. It is considered a premium commercial variety, predominantly grown in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, especially in the Liwa and Madinat Zayed areas. It ripens mid-season and holds a special place in Emirati culture, reflected in the saying: “He who does not plant Al-Dabbas will not win the hand of a girl.”

الفــــرض يتسـم بشـكله المنتظـم ولونـه البنـي الداكـن، ومنـه نوعـان: فــرض ليــوا، وفــرض الــعين، وموعــد نضجــه متأخــر، ويتميــز بخلــوه مــن الدهــون والكوليــسترول، ويعــد مــن الأصنــاف التجاريـة المهمـة في أبوظبي، وواسـع الانتشـار على امتداد الدولــة، وقيــل فيــه مثــل شــعبي «الفــرض عمــود الأرض، إن تـَه ه ََنــاك.. وإن بعتــه غ ََنــاك». �ْْ ك ََل الدبــاس تمـر ذو محتـوى سـكري منخفـض، يتميـز بالشـكل البيضـاوي واللـون البنـي الفاتـح، ويعـد صنفـا تجاريـا متميـزاًً، تـكثر زراعته في أبوظبــي بمنطقــة الظفــرة خصوصــا في محــاضر ليــوا ومدينـة زايـد، موعـد نضجـه وسـط الموسـم، ولـه خصوصيـة في المجتمــع إذ ضرب فيــه المثــل الشــعبي «اللي مــا يــزرع بـّاس مـا ياخـذ بنـات النـاس». � الد

Khalas Khalas dates are widely cultivated throughout the UAE. They are oval in shape, light brown in color, and ripen mid-season. This variety is highly sought-after both locally and internationally and is one of the most popular commercial date varieties.

خـــــلاص تــكثر زراعتــه في كافــة مناطــق الإمــارات، ويتميــز باللــون البنــي الفاتــح وبالشــكل البيضــاوي، موعــد نضجــه وســط الموســم، وهــو مــن أصنــاف التمــور التجاريــة الواســعة الانتشــار والمرغوبــة محليــا وخارجيــاًً.

بومعان يوجــد في كافــة مناطــق الإمــارات خاصــة أبوظبــي، موعــد نضجــه وســط الموســم، وهــو مــن أصنــاف التمــور التجاريــة الواســعة الانتشــار محليــا وخصوصــا بإمــارة أبوظبــي في مناطـق ليـوا والـعين وأم غافـة وسـويحان والخزنـة وغيرهـا، شــكله بيضــاوي قــصير، وحجمــه كــبير ولونــه بنــي غامــق. الشيشي صنـف مميـز مـن أصنـاف النخيـل، يمتـاز بقـوة جذعـه وسـعفه، وثمـاره كـبيرة نوعـا مـا، يـزرع في جميـع أنحـاء دولـة الإمـارات ويتركـز في إمـارة أبوظبـي في المرفـأ ومحـاضر ليـوا والعين، لـون الثمـرة بنـي والشـكل بيضـاوي، قشرتـه سـميكة نوعـا مـا والملمـس جـاف قلـيلا ًً.

Bumaan Boumaan dates are found throughout the UAE, particularly in Abu Dhabi. They ripen mid-season and are widely cultivated as a commercial variety, especially in regions such as Liwa, Al Ain, Umm Ghafa, Sweihan, and Al Khaznah. They have a short oval shape, large size, and dark brown color. Al-Shishi Al-Shishi is a distinctive date palm variety known for the strength of its trunk and fronds, and relatively large fruits. It is cultivated across the UAE, with concentrations in Abu Dhabi’s Al Mirfa, Liwa, and Al Ain regions. The fruit is brown and oval-shaped, with slightly thick skin and a somewhat dry texture.

Al Zamli Al-Zamali dates are medium-sized with a cylindrical shape. Their brown color is complemented by a golden sheen, giving them a distinctive luster. This date is among the late-ripening varieties during the rutab season and date harvest period.

الزاملي يتميــز بشــكله الأســطواني متوســط الحجــم، ولونــه البنــي الــذي ترافقــه لمعــة ذهبيــة تعطيــه بريقــا خاصــاًً، ويعــد الـزاملي مـن الأصنـاف التـي يتأخـر نضجهـا خلال موسـم الرطب وجنــي التمــور.

The Dates Auction offers enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire the finest Emirati dates. The auction aims to highlight the quality of local and international date productions for all visitors and connoisseurs of premium dates. It also showcases the most distinguished date varieties in the UAE, providing ongoing support to farmers and encouraging them to expand the cultivation of superior varieties, thereby ensuring the sustainability and development of dates production. Step One: Complete the participant registration form via the application (Falak Al Namoos). Receive the designated date boxes and specify the type and quantity of dates to be entered in the auction. Step Two: • The main auction is held on a dedicated bidding platform, where bidders compete to acquire the displayed dates. • Bidding on each variety starts at prices set by the auction committee. • The auction begins at 5:00 p.m. A specialized committee, will inspect and evaluate the dates to ensure they are ready for display and bidding. Auction of Palm Trees

The auction aims to support the preservation of local palm varieties and provide approved palm offshoots, seedlings, and palm trees to farmers and interested individuals, thereby contributing to the propagation of rare and high-value commercial varieties. Preliminary Approval of Entries • Details of the entries must be submitted to the relevant committee to obtain preliminary approval before uprooting or preparing it for participation in the auction. • The committee shall determine the varieties accepted for participation in the auction, including rare varieties approved by the committee. • Preliminary approval does not constitute final acceptance, as each entry is subject to inspection and approval upon delivery to the festival site. Preparation and Delivery • The seller shall prepare the palm offshoot, seedling, or palm tree and deliver it to the designated location at the festival. • The auction item must be delivered in a sound and stable agricultural bag or container and must bear the approved Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority identification or approved outer covering. • The auction item must be in good and stable condition, treated against fungi and insects, and its soil must be clean and free from pests and visible diseases.

• The committee shall inspect the auction item upon receipt and reserves the right to reject any item that does not meet the specified requirements. • An inspection and receipt form shall be issued for each accepted auction item, and the seller may not withdraw the item after it has been approved for participation in the auction. Numbering, Documentation, and Display • Auction items shall be numbered, their details recorded, and an information card issued for each. • Auction lots shall be placed in the designated display area and made available for inspection by bidders before the auction begins. Registration and Bidding • Bidding shall take place on the designated auction platform and shall commence at the prices determined by the Auction Committee. The sale shall be awarded to the highest bidder. • Remote bidding shall be available through the WhatsApp platforms of the auction supervisor and approved organizer. • All remote bids received shall be represented at the auction venue through a single bidding card registered in the name of Mr. Khamis Al Mansoori, in his capacity as the platform representative. • The platform representative shall monitor incoming bids and raise the bidding card at the venue while recording the actual bidder’s details and bid value.

• Upon conclusion of the auction, the sale shall be registered in the name of the actual bidder. • The auction shall be conducted on the designated bidding platform and shall commence according to the prices set by the Auction Committee. • The auction shall be awarded to the highest bidder in accordance with the approved procedures. Payment and Commission • The successful bidder shall pay the full purchase amount in accordance with the approved procedures and timelines. • In the event of non-payment, official procedures shall be taken in accordance with the applicable regulations upon the request of the owner of the auction lot.

auction lots while they remain at the designated festival location. • Sold auction lots shall remain at the site until the end of the festival and shall not be released to purchasers before the specified date. • Each auction lot shall be inspected before delivery, and its condition shall be matched against the inspection and receipt form. • The auction lot shall be delivered to the purchaser after the conclusion of the festival and full payment of its value, against an approved delivery form.

• Dates must conform to their variety in shape, color, and taste and be fully ripe. • Dates should be uniform in color and shape, and consistent in size. • Dates must be free from live insect pests and all their developmental stages. • Dates must be free from surface defects and external deformities. • Minimum participation is 12 packages of 2 kg each. • Dates must be refrigerated, not frozen. • Dates must come from producers or manufacturers (with either a commercial license or a website presence).

Honey Competition

The competition aims to support producers, factory owners, and beekeepers to encourage local honey production. It also provides festival visitors with the opportunity to learn about different varieties of Emirati honey and the nutritional and therapeutic properties of each type.

• Submission of 2 kg of liquid honey divided into two samples of the same specifications and quality of honey (a sample for display and a sample for chemical analysis). • Packages should be in smooth glass with a metal lid. • Packages must be cylindrical in shape. • Do not stick any tag or put any distinctive mark on the packages. • Packages, including their lids must be clean. • Packages must be fully filled, leaving a space for the honey not to touch the lid. • Honey must not be crystallized and be free from defects and impurities, as well as homogeneous and of natural color.

Through this competition, the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority aims to showcase Emirati heritage with a particular focus on date palms. Participants are invited to present visual stories that capture the beauty of the UAE’s diverse wildlife and marine life, while emphasizing the living presence of date palms in the collective memory of society, alongside the country’s natural marine and terrestrial landscapes.

تسـعى هيئـة أبوظبـي لـلتراث مـن خلال هـذه المسـابقة إلى تسـليط الضـوء على التراث الإمـاراتي بوجـه عـام ونخلـة التمـر بوجـه خـاص مـن خلال تجسـيد قصــص مرئيــة تنقــل للمشــاهد جماليــات الحيــاة البريــة والبحريــة، والمكانــة الحيـة لنخيـل التمـر في ذاكـرة المجتمـع.

The award is divided into three categories

Category 1: The Date Palm and Dates: Photographs that reflect the deep connection between people and the date palm, its fruits, palm groves, and traditional crafts made from palm fronds. Both amateur and professional photographers worldwide are welcome to participate in this category, to highlight the economic, environmental, and cultural significance of the date palm. Category 2: Wildlife in Al Dhafra Photographs showcasing Al Dhafra’s enchanting sand dunes, diverse environment, and wildlife such as birds (including the falcon), Arabian oryx, gazelles, camels, horses, as well as its springs, plants, fossils, and Al Dhafra’s festivals. Category 3: Marine Life in Al Dhafra Photographs from Al Dhafra’s coastline, featuring its scenic beaches, coral reefs, fishing traditions, sailing boat races, and rich marine biodiversity.

• Entries must be submitted exclusively via the official email: aldhafra.dates.photo@aha.gov.ae • Submissions are accepted from 9:00 AM on 23 September 2026 until 12:00 midnight on 7 October 2026 (UAE time). Late entries will not be considered. • Participants may submit a photo series within the competition theme, with a maximum of 5 photos presented as one story in each theme. • A maximum of 3 individual photos may be submitted per category. • All photos must be in JPEG or JPG format, with a minimum size of 5 MB, at least 2000 pixels on one side, and a resolution of no less than 300 dpi. Images must be high quality and suitable for publication. • Coordinates and the location of the submitted photos must be included; any submission lacking this information will be excluded. For shortlisted entries, participants will be required to provide the original photo upon request. • Adding logos, signatures, names, frames, borders, symbols, dates, timestamps, or any other elements to the photos is strictly prohibited. • Advanced edits that create visual tricks, illusions, or alter the original image are strictly prohibited.

• تقدم الصور للمسابقة حصريا من خلال إرسالها بالبريد الإلكتروني aldhafra.dates.photo@aha.gov.ae المخصص للجائزة: • سـبتمبر 23 صباحـا يـوم 9:00 تُفتـح أبـواب المشـاركة ابتـداء مـن السـاعة 2026 أكتوب ـر 7 منتصـف الليـل يـوم 12:00 وتسـتمر حتـى السـاعة 2026 (بتوقيـت دولـة الإمـارات العربيـة المتحـدة)، ولـن يُنظـر في أي مشـاركة تقـدم بعـد انقضـاء المهلـة المحـددة. • يمكـن تقديـم سلسـلة مـن الصـور في محور المسـابقة وتتم المشـاركة صـور عـى شـكل قصـة في كل محور. 5 بحـد أقـى • صـور كحـد أقـى في كل 3 عـدد الصـور المسـموح بهـا في المشـاركة محـور. • وبجــودة ودقــة عاليتــن، JPG أو JPEG يشــرط أن تكــون الصــور بصيغــة ميجابايـت، وألا يقـل طـول أحـد أضلاعهـا عـن 5 عـى ألا يقـل حجمهـا عـن مـع ضـان ملاءمتهـا للنـر. dpi 300 بكسـل، بدقـة لا تقـل عـن 2000 • يشـرط أن يتـم إرفـاق إحداثيـات وموقـع الصور المشـاركة، وأي مشـاركة لا تحتــوي عــى هــذه المعلومــات ســيتم اســتبعادها مــن المشــاركة. بالنسـبة للصـور المتأهلـة إلى المرحلـة النهائيـة، يتعـن على المشـارك رفـع النسـخة الأصليـة عنـد طلبهـا.

• Participants will be disqualified if they submit the same photo that won in previous years. • Any photo containing inappropriate or offensive content, including violence or material inconsistent with the public morals, religious values, and cultural traditions of the UAE, will be disqualified. • Any image that violates the above rules will be automatically removed from the competition without further notice. • Participants must be able to provide the original image in RAW format or files from the same series upon request. • Winning photographs will become the property of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, which reserves the right to use them in publications and media related to the competition and Al Dhafra Dates Festiva. The judging committee will review and evaluate all entries, with results announced during the festival.

• يُحظـر إضافـة أي شـعارات، أو توقيعـات، أو أسـاء، أو إطـارات، أو حـدود، أو رمـوز، أو تواريـخ، أو توقيـت أو أي علامـات أخـرى مـن قبـل المشـارك عـى الصـور. • يمنـع إدخـال أي تعديـات أو مؤثـرات تقنيـة بصريـة تهـدف إلى إضافـة خـدع أو حيـل أو إحـداث تلاعـب يؤثـر في أصـل الصـورة. • يتـم اسـتبعاد المشـارك في حـال إعـادة تقديـم الصـورة نفسـها التـي فـازت في أعـوام سـابقة. • سـيتم رفـض أي صـورة تحتـوي عـى محتـوى غـر لائـق أو مـيء، بمـا في ذلــك مشــاهد العنــف، أو أي عنــاصر تتعــارض مــع الأخــاق العامــة والقيـم الدينيـة والثقافيـة في دولـة الإمـارات العربيـة المتحـدة. • تسـتبعد تلقائيـا مـن المسـابقة أي صـورة لا تلتـزم بالـروط المذكـورة أعـاه، دون الحاجـة إلى إشـعار المشـارك. • أو RAW يلتـزم المشـارك بتقديـم النسـخة الأصليـة مـن الصـورة بصيغـة بصيـغ أخـرى مـن نفـس السلسـلة عنـد طلبهـا. • الصــور الفائــزة تصبــح ملــكا لهيئــة أبوظبــي للــراث، ويحــق للهيئــة الاســتفادة مــن الصــور المتميــزة في إصداراتهــا ومحتواهــا الإعلامــي المتعلــق بالجائــزة، وفي المــواد الإعلاميــة الخاصــة بالظفــرة للتمــور. • سـتتولى لجنـة مختصـة فـرز وتحكيـم الصـور المشـاركة، وسـيتم الإعلان عـن نتائـج المسـابقة خـال فـرة المهرجـان.

تنظـم هيئـة أبوظبـي لـلتراث مسـابقة الرسـم الحـي دعما للفنـانين في الدولــة ليشــاركوا بلوحــات مرســومة بالألــوان الزيتيــة أو الأكريليــك خلال ، حيــث تتيــح الهيئــة للرســامين الهــواة 2026 فعاليــات الظفــرة للتمــور والمـحترفين، إيصـال فنهـم وإبداعهـم إلى جمهـور أوسـع والتعـبير عـن أفكارهـم مـن خلال المـدارس الفنيـة التـي ينتمـون إليهـا.

Live Painting Competition

The Live Painting Competition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, supports all artists in the UAE by providing a platform to showcase works created in oil or acrylic during the 2026 Al Dhafra Dates. The competition allows both amateur and professional artists to share their art and creativity with a wide audience, expressing their ideas through the artistic styles and schools they represent.
