At this point, I know you are saying to yourself there is no way this woman is a “grandma!” Yes, I am and no I did not start super young, but I did start off becoming a parent early in life. Do you know what? I do not regret it, not one single bit and not for one single moment. The only thing I do regret are the partners I chose! As much of a detour as my life had to take based on my own decisions and I own them all I do not regret, not one second of it. The path these detours took me on were all a part of the process and the journey required to get me where I am today. It is unfortunate, but what happens with so many of us is

that we fail to “Own It!” We tend to blame life and all of its circumstances. Rightfully so! We can blame peer pressure, family demands, limited resources, and a lack of knowledge and be rightfully justified. H owever, how much more empowering would it be to say I “OWN IT!” It was me that did not seek enough, learn enough, ask enough questions, or make the right decisions independent of anyone else’s view, opinion, pressure, and suggestion. I found that when I owned my decision making regardless of any of the circumstances surrounding my life at any time in my life, I regained the power of choice. At the end of the day people its our choice to make the decisions that we made. We did not have to do any of it if we had made the decision not too! No one made me marry my first or second husband, no one made me date and marry the wrong men, no one made me have sex before I was ready financially, no one made me get pregnant before marriage, no one made me have my children, no one made me do any of it! I choose to do it all myself! OWN IT!!! That is what this magazine is all about! Own It! GETTING AND REMAINING FREE! Today you can be FREE fromALL of IT! 5 FOODS THAT FIGHT CANCER

BEETROOT

CRUCIFEROUS VEGETABLES

BERRIES

Studies have shown the betanin pigment found in beetroots can impede tumor cell growth in many organs. A shot of beetroot in the morning, add raw/slightly steamed beetroot to a salad or a delicious beetroot soup for supper are great! Research has proven the betacyanin pigment from beets can decrease the growth of tumours by 12.5% linked to breast and prostate cancers.

Cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower, kale, arugula, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and more are filled with fiber and antioxidants that fight cancer. These properties come from the composite glucosinolates. Glucosinolates when consumed it is transformed into the biological compounds indole/isothiocyanate. Indole and isothiocyanate are made of anticancer properties proven to prevent the growth of cancer cells and protects cells from damage to DNA and inactivate carcinogens.

Proven to be the richest source of antioxidants we turn to all types of berries. Starting with blueberries, acai, blackberries, strawberries, goji berries, and raspberries. The important role of antioxidants is to protect the body from free radicals. Why? Because free radicals are unstable compounds that have the potential to damage otherwise healthy cells causing them to become cancerous. Research provides evidence the antioxidants in berries prevent and/or reduce cancer cells stopping them from growing. Give yourself a boost by adding a mixture of berries to your daily regiment. You can bake them or make a delicious smoothie. Regardless of how you decide to include them in your dietary plan. Get this cancer fighters on your grocery list ASAP!

Asians use turmeric in cooking because of its anti-inflammatory properties. To naturally boost the body ’s im mune system about ½ tsp of turmeric is added to just able all dishes.

Fresh ginger helps the respiratory system and lungs.

Health, Wellness, & Stewardship Food for Thought To make it clear! I am not a doctor however I am a Healthcare Professional who just wants to pass over some food for thought. At the start of a new day some of us have breakfast, eventually it is time for lunch and then ther e’ s dinner. Whichever the habit maybe we at least take part in at least two of these meals. The question is, “ What are you getting out of these meals? ” Diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and cancer are battles no one wants to experience. As

Seeing your doctor for more than just a yearly routine physical, taking prescribed medication or even receiving insulin shots are reasons why you should take notice of what happens when you eat certain foods. 9 | P a g e T A K E C E N T E R S T A G E & O W N I T ! I am well known for immediately addressing the pink elephant in the room. My approach to fear is simple! Fear is a bull that comes to rip you to shreds with its horns. Instead of dancing around with the bull because who has time for that when all hell is breaking loose elsewhere in your life. I run right up and get a solid grip on the horns of that great beast. I twist hard to snap his neck and bring him down to the ground to his death. I am very serious! I do not toy with fear because fear is not toying with me. consistently pursued leads to a higher level of self-mastery. Self-mastery is not perfection it is more so the ability to self- regulate at a moment ’ s notice. This implies you have the ability at any given moment under most circumstances to control your emotional response to life ’ s challenges. Does it have benefits? Tapping into a higher level of “ Self-Awareness ” My approach to successful coaching and individual development is a keen sense of self (self-awareness), once you become aware of yourself there should be a desire for improvement which leads you to self- development, and self-development

Conquer YOUR Fears Unleash the Beast The LION within YOU!

When I have a life to conquer there is no room for fear, doubt, and dis-belief. Now you may be saying “ wow ” that is a direct approach and unrealistic. But I argue this, you keep playing with fear and you will limit your accomplishments or may avoid accomplishing anything at all. Do not let your fear paralyze you. The scariest paths often lead you to the most exciting places. - Lori DeSchene

To conquer your fears what you want must hold a far much greater value and consequence for its loss than that which you fear. If the fear you are facing is greater than what you want, you will always give in to the fear. What is critical here is “ knowing thyself ” a high level of self-awareness. A high level of self-regulation and self- determination. Clarity of your identity, your life ’ s purpose, and the strategy for living that purpose must be fully known to you. There are many fears people face every day which are public speaking (#1 on most lists of top 10s), heights, flying, animals, enclosed, spaces, rejection, what others think, facing people in power (authority figures), being alone, breaking up with a lover/spouse, starting a business, personal or professional failure are just a few but common for most. Overcoming these fears requires the person to know who they are and to be content with the person they are becoming. When I say content, I simply mean being at peace within themselves in knowing who they are and being satisfied holistically with their present state. It is from the peaceful self-confident and content place in your self-identity you can conquer your challenges. Why because you have reconciled within yourself that you got this! Therefore, decisions are made from a place of knowing and having the self-confidence that reassures you that you will succeed. Is fear good or bad? I believe it can be both good and bad. Good in the sense it holds us accountable to do the right thing in fear of the consequences if we do something wrong. It holds us accountable for being good people even when no one is watching so to speak. Fear is bad when it has an adverse impact on your ability to live a fulfilling life. When fear causes someone to compromise their self-worth influencing poor decision making, or less than desirable behavior it is not so good.

An example would be someone with a fear of leaving their home as the result of a traumatic experience. Now this individual has been forced to live a life of extreme limitations. This individual living a happy and peaceful life has now been paralyzed. As I mentioned fear is good and it does have its benefit. When rules or laws are set in place people can for the most part live free of fear that someone would break the rules and harm them. Those who abide by the rules do so to remain in compliance but more importantly because they are in fear of what will happen to them if they do not comply. Fear is not all bad. What is important is that when fear is presented in a way that would cause you to become enslaved and do things that compromise your ability to achieve a goal, live a fulfilling life that is filled with love, joy, peace, and happiness then you need to address fear as I have suggested. Acknowledge that pink elephant or bull (fear) in the room by first owning the truth of its existence, address it by saying I recognize you and you have got to go! Open the door, grab the bull by horns twist that neck and toss that beast out the door! As the woman said it clearly on YouTube, “ Ain ’ t nobody got time for that (fear)! ” You have a life to live filled with great hope and opportunities that surpass anything you imagined possible for yourself. You do not have the luxury to entertain fear outside of always doing the right thing even when others are wrong and do not deserve your goodness. Keep your hands clean so God can always bless the work of your hands that will lead to your glory story! Blessings Always! And may you never again walk in fear and may the good Lord give you courage to stand against the spirit of fear so that you walk daily as an overcomer! - Marissa Bloedoorn

not at home, I had to first stop by my house to pick up a few items to finish getting dressed. I walked through my front door and saw that my living roomwas in disarray. My heart dropped as I walked to the back of my house and sawmy rear door glass shattered. To make a long story short, it took a while for the police and forensics to do their job, so I missed my uncle’s funeral. After the police left, I sat on my couch, feeling very alone. Again, I heard, “ Be afraid of being in the same place one year from today,” again follo wed by “Some events you will just have to miss.” Really? Missing a dear uncle’s funeral was not what I had in mind when that quote popped in my mind that morning. What about missing a girls' night out? Or a church service that I didn’t want to attend anyway? Missing a day of work or a birthday party of that co-worker who aggravated me. Those events would have been more ideal. There was no reason to debate it; I accepted that I could not choose what events I would miss because God orchestrates everything. I sat alone and sulked.

because we focus so much on one part, we tend to miss the bigger picture. For instance, I focused so much on the “some events you will have to miss” that I overlooked the first part, which was essential: “ Be afraid of being in the same place one year from today.” I am purposeful about self- improvement, almost obsessed, so just the thought of going 365 days without progressing in any way is like death by drowning, taking in an ounce of water at a time: slow and agonizing. For me to be where I am today next year is frightful and unacceptable. If I have to miss several events to be in a different place next year, I will gladly do it. Even if it is the funeral of a very special uncle. If the pain leads to a better me, I will not resist it but welcome it. Missing events could merely be self-improvement knocking on your door. Or, in some cases, kicking in your door. Don't worry; put your seatbelt on because the ride to another level of self- improvement is about to begin. Be determined that you will not be in the same place one year from today. Happy growing!

"Where Leaders are Made" Don ’ t Stay Where You Are! One warm morning in August a few years ago, I awoke, and a quote that I had seen on the internet entered my mind. “ Be afraid of being in the same place one year from today,” immediately followed by, “Some events you will just have to miss.” No matter how hard I tried, it kept repeating playing in the background of my mind like soft music in a shopping mall. I pushed it aside and got ready to face the dreadful day ahead; my family was preparing to attend one of my favorite uncles' funeral. Because I was

My Dear Beloved Shawn,

attitude I could mustard up because being positive isn ’ t always easy but worth the results. I embrace and welcome something new, change is a good thing and leads you to places you never knew existed or were even possible. While being in the present I get super excited about what was to come. I raised my expectations high for what ’ s next. Looking forward to something new to come keeps you young, vibrant, relevant, and enjoyable. You are fun when your excited and filled with joy. When your heart gets filled with so much positivity its contagious and everyone wants some of what you have, making you a treasure to be around, you are “ good ” company to keep. I am high on reflection because I love to review things to understand in a deeper what happened, why did it happen, and what were the results of it happening. Why do that? So that I can have a greater understanding, peace of mind in knowing some level of truth and discernment which turns in to wisdom for the future and wise decision making. It also helps to put things in proper perspective. I had one of my tribe members say to me, “ I have seen you re-invent yourself so many times, I said to myself if Marissa can do it so can I! ” What she noticed over the years of watching me was simple, I never gave up on my initial dreams! I am still living them all because I am laser focused and highly intentional. So I ’ m asking you … What ’ s New in your life? How ’ s work, do you love it? Do you have a job? Do you have a dream job you would prefer to be working on right now? What ’ s Next in Your life? Do you have a plan for your future, your next move? What in your life needs to be Revisited? What did you give up that has caused your life to be missing something like “ fulfillment ” ? I am here for you! I get it! What I want you to get is simple, “ Anything in your life you want to achieve it is possible with the right team on your side to help you to the finish line with great success! ”

Life happens I get it, but what I do not get is how so many people give up on their hopes and dreams from their younger years before all of this life stuff happened. I never gave up on me! Becoming a mother at an early age, then a wife at an early age, it left no room for me to explore me anymore. Yet, I still needed to explore and do more discovery work regarding who I was, who I wanted to be at the moment, who I wanted to become and the who I wanted people to remember when I was gone. boss. Tesh originally worked at Bare Minerals for four years and did makeup outside of work as a side hustle. She would continue to get compliments on her work and the products used. She then thought, instead of giving these companies more customers, why not start her own brand and make them her customers for the product as well. In 2018, Tesh started off making her own products from her very own kitchen. Sales spiked and customers immediately fell in love! She decided to take her cosmetic line to the next level.

So she began to work with labs to create a line that would be everyone's "must have!” In spring of 2020 Tesh expanded Branaé to a boutique that offers clothing, shoes, accessories & more! Since having this business, Tesh has been recognized online by an e-commerce millionaire (Christianna Hurt) and an extremely popular social media influencer (Ella- girlfriend of famous rapper A-Boogie). By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback — and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

no woman wants to face. A battle ensues in Chrissy as she searches for peace, the very thing she rejects. Conflicted in mind, body and spirit, she continues to fight and raise her children the best she knows how seeking God in the Devil’s playground. Through Blind Eyes is a story about one woman’s journey, a story that has no ending but just is.

CHRISTINE MAYO Mother and Sharing Her Story

Through this whole journey I never stopped looking up!

In the Book, “Through Blind Eyes” By Christine Mayo & Bobbie Bean

Chrissy Marlow suffers a tremendous loss as a young child. She spends the rest of her days holding on to anything and anyone she loves, whether or not that love is reciprocated. She journeys through life surrendering to the will of her oppressor, subjecting her body to multiple partners, multiple beatings, and multiple heartaches. As if the external infliction was not enough, her body turns on her, forcing her to face a demon

BOBBIE BEAN

and most recently, to explore the inner thoughts and workings of the multifaceted subjects in her writings.

At the young age of eight, Bobbie realized that she was pretty good at writing when her first submission for publishing, a poem titled "Sometimes He Answers No," was included in a compilation of poetry which her mom still keeps on the mantle. Life and the pursuit of happiness prevented Bobbie from adding more published work to that mantle. Still, it did not stop Bobbie from writing poems, short stories, music, plays, and putting on entire productions for her church and other community organizations. When not writing, mothering, entrepreneuring, or public speaking, renaissance woman and Cincinnati native Bobbie Michelle Bean can be found working desperately to shed her stomach; sadly, to no avail. She dances in the rain, sings in the shower, cooks big dinners for her family, and celebrates that she is Every Woman. When every woman gives voice to every woman, you can rest assured it will be good! The Book, “Through Blind Eyes” w/Christine Mayo & Bobbie Bean

ABOUT THE BEST-SELLING AUTHOR

Bobbie Michelle Bean is a mother, real estate agent, investor, entrepreneur, public speaker, and author of the new novel Through Blind Eyes. Bobbie writes fiction based on real-life; reconstructed biographies, one might say. Her in-depth understanding of human action is revealed in her debut novel, as she journeys through another woman's life, reenacting the good, the bad, the sexy, and the ugly of it all. Bobbie received her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, and her master's from South University, where her focus was Behavioral Science, dealing primarily with human behavior as it relates to society. Her expertise in this area allowed her to run businesses for herself and others successfully,
