Cheffer a oeuvré successivement comme directeur adjoint et directeur de l’ École élémentaire catholique Notre-Dame , à Cornwall, entre 2013 et 2017. Il a également agit à titre de conseiller péda- gogique au CSDCEO, en enfance en difficulté assigné à la communauté d’Alexandria, entre 2009 et 2013. « Nos directions sont des professionnels chevronnés qui ont à cœur la réussite de tous les élèves. Ces personnes dévouées sont des leaders dans leur communauté respective et sont des modèles de construction iden- titaire francophone catholique, a déclaré François Turpin, directeur de l’éducation et secrétaire », a rajouté M Turpin.
L’équipe administrative du Conseil sco- laire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) fait peau neuve. Dans la région, quelques nouvelles directions d’école ont été annoncées plus tôt cette semaine. Yanick Barrette a été nommé directeur et Joey Bédard a reçu le titre de nouveau directeur adjoint au pavillon intermédiaire de l’Ecole secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury. Avec Linda Girard au poste de directrice adjointe, ils viennent compléter l’équipe à la direction de l’ESCRH. Ancien Kodiak, Yanick Barrette travaille pour les écoles du CSDCEO depuis mainte- nant 12 ans. M. Barrette possède une solide expérience en enseignement, tant au palier élémentaire, intermédiaire que secondaire.
Joey Bédard a plus de 20 années d’expé- rience en éducation. Il a notamment fré- quenté les écoles du CSDCEO, et il connaît très bien la région pour y avoir toujours habité, en plus d’être un musicien reconnu dans sa communauté. Quant à Linda Girard, qui est directrice adjointe à l’ESCRHdepuis septembre 2016, elle a enseigné à l’ École secondaire catholique de Plantagenet (ESCP) pendant 10 ans.

Les pompiers honorent un camarade décédé Les membres du Service des incendies de Hawkesbury et d’autres services d’incendie régionaux se réuniront à l’église St-Pierre Apôtre de Hawkesbury, ce samedi, lors d’un service commémoratif pour Gilles Joly, membre bénévole à la retraite du département du Service des incendies de Hawkesbury, décédé le 27 juillet. M. Mayor Kirby also confirmed that the per- son chosen to replace Rozon, as both CAO and treasurer, will have the skills and expe- rience needed tomanage themunicipality’s accounting system. “You need this new technology to be able to keep up with the times,” he said.
Linda Rozon is no longer chief administra- tive officer of East Hawkesbury Township. Rozon resigned her position effective the end of June, after close to four decades as a township employee. Besides her duties as CAO before her resignation, she also dou- bled as the township treasurer. Mayor Robert Kirby confirmed, during a phone interview Monday, that Rozon’s resignation followed upon a request from the township. He said the reason involved a disagreement over her handling of the accounting system for the township and fai- lure to implement a computerized accoun- ting program that the township purchased many years ago. «But it (accounting program) never got used,” Kirby said, “and it was not an expen- sive program.” Following a discussion between township officials and Rozon, the ex-CAO agreed to hand in her resignation. “It (accounts) was all pencil work and very hard to keep track of,” Kirby said. “She couldn’t handle what we wanted, and we couldn’t handle her situation.” Mayor Kirby confirmed that township got legal advice and assistance on the matter, which included an agreement fromRozon to correct some errors in the audited accounts before her departure. “Any financial irregularities have been

They will also check to make sure boaters are licensed for their vessels. Police onmarine patrol will also enforce the Criminal Code and provincial Liquor Act sections dealing with impaired boating, having care and control of a vessel while im- paired, and having alcohol aboard a vessel, along with dangerous boating infractions.
The August long weekend approaches and police departments in EasternOntario are all ready to enforce boating safety rules on the Ottawa River and other streams and lakes. The Ottawa Police Service and the OPP Marine Safety Units will both be on deck and on the water to do water safety checks for use of lifejackets for anyone on the water. They

Police and federal prison officials are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man wanted for breaching his parole. The Repeat Offender Parole Enforce- ment Squad (ROPE) has issued an alert for 52-year-old Daniel Pilon. He is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of parole. Pilon was on a long-term supervision order after completing a five-year sentence for robbery, overcoming a person’s resis- tance by trying to choke them, and forcible confinement. He is known to frequent the Ottawa area. Pilon stands six-foot-three and weighs 282 pounds. He wears glasses and has tattoos on his entire left and right arms. Anyone who sees Pilon or knows where

Le faux courriel est intitulé Avis de contravention de vitesse et prétend que le destinataire a été identifié comme le conducteur d’un véhicule ayant fait un excès de vitesse ou ayant commis une autre infraction au Code de la route. Le courrier électronique comprend un lien et la cible de l’arnaque est informée qu’elle a 24 jours pour déposer un avis de déclaration. Les escrocs de l’hameçonnage tentent de récolter des données personnelles et financières de leurs victimes pour le vol d’identité. Toute per- sonne recevant ce courrier électronique ne devrait pas répondre. Long weekend flood watch The SouthNation Conservation Autho- rity (SNC) has issued a flood watch allert for the August long weekend due to an expected heavy rainfall situation for the region. Environment Canada has forecast a chance of 30 to 50 centimetres of rain starting before the long August weekend and continuing into the following week. The SNC does not anticpate any severe flooding risk but its technicians do anti- cipate the chance of nuisance flooding in some parts of the South Nation River watershed as some of the tributary creeks may overflow their banks or else heavy runoff creates some drainage problems with low-lying properties. Residents are advised to stay clear of fast-running streams during this period and parents are urged to keep their children away from stream banks which may become slippery due to the heavy rainfall.
