Dragan Jovićevi ć is a long-serving editor of the culture sector at weekly news magazine NIN , where he follows cultural events and phenomena. Alongside that he also writes books, shoots films and does much more. As such, for this issue of Elevate he deals with what he knows best – film, specifically the auteur film works that await us at the upcoming Auteur Film Festival in Belgrade.

Tamara Gligorijević je novinarka stacionirana na internetu. Povremeno napravi izlet u print, a prilikom tih izleta najviše voli da piše o pravim izletima po Srbiji, pa i šire. Voli putopise i blogove koji su namenjeni prosečnom čoveku. Ovog puta naišla je na petorku zbog koje se istog vikenda i sama uputila na izlet i shvatila da izgovora zaista nema – samo nedostatka volje. Tamara Gligorijević is a journalist stationed on the internet. She occasionally makes an excursion into print, and during those excursions she mostly likes writing about actual excursions around Serbia and beyond. She likes travelogues and blogs intended for average people. For this issue of Elevate she came across a fivesome who inspired her to take her own trip that same weekend and to realise there really is no excuse – just a lack of will.

Bojana Đurić je dugogodišnji novinar i urednik Blic žene . Zanimaju je društveni, kulturni, globalni fenomeni, a u ovom broju Elevejta predstavlja nam upravo jedan takav – o ženi koja je poslednja ikona bratstva i jedinstva i koju su voleli u svih šest republika i dve pokrajine bivše Jugoslavije, baš kao i na čitavom Balkanu. Reč je, naravno, o Lepoj Breni. Bojana Đurić is a long-serving journalist and editor at Blic žene . With an interest in social, cultural and global phenomena, for this issue of Elevate she presents to us just one such phenomenon – a woman who was the last icon of Yugoslav brotherhood and unity, and who was loved equally in all six republics and two provinces of the former country, but also across the entire Balkans. That woman is, of course, Lepa Brena.

I frequently travel and it is very important for me that I arrive everywhere as planned and because of that flying is my first choice Imajući u vidu da često putujem, važno mi je da svuda stignem na vreme i upravo je zato avion moje omiljeno prevozno sredstvo

Kosturos je na poziciju generalnog direktora BAT-a za Srbiju i Crnu Goru došao sa mesta finansijskog direktora BAT Francuska. Imao je mogućnost da vodi neke od najznačajnijih finansijskih projekata doprinoseći strategiji razvoja i jačanju kompanijske pozicije na tržištu, kao i razvoju kvalitetnih profesionalaca i zaposlenih. Oženjen je i otac dvoje dece. U AVIONU VOLIM DA ČITAM I SLUŠAM MUZIKU pa uvek nosim neku knjigu i plejlistu omiljenih pesama. Ako idem na poslovni put, to vreme najčešće koristim da se dodatno pripremim za sastanak. POZNATO JE DA MI MUŠKARCI NOSIMO ŠTO JE MOGUĆE MANJE STVARI. Izuzev laptopa i telefona, ima još jedna stvar bez koje nikuda ne idem. To je glo, uređaj najnovije generacije za zagrevanje duvana. Radi se o inovaciji kompanije BAT, koja nama pušačima omogućava uživanje, ali bez neprijatnih mirisa i pepela. IMAO SAM PRIVILEGIJU da živim i radim u Londonu, Rimu, Parizu, Atini, Rigi... Svako mesto ima nešto specifično. Volim London zbog raznolikosti društva i mnogo kulturnog sadržaja koji taj grad nudi posetiocima. Pariz volim zbog hrane, vina i ambijenta, kao i Atinu i grčka ostrva. VOLIM LJUDE U BEOGRADU. Radio sam u mnogim zemljama i stekao veliko profesionalno iskustvo, ali retko sam imao priliku da upoznam tako srdačne ljude. Volim ulice Beograda i ležernu atmosferu koja na njima vlada, dinamiku ovog grada, koja je baš po mojoj meri, i naravno, odličnu hranu i restorane. Beograd je veoma gostoljubiv, živahan grad i odličan je za decu.

Besides my laptop and phone, there is one more thing I don’t go anywhere without: that’s glo, the latest generation tobacco heating device. I’VE HAD THE PRIVILEGE of living and working in London, Rome, Paris, Athens and Riga... Every place has something different. I love London for its diversity and the vast amount of cultural experienc- es, Paris for its food, wine and ambience, and of course Athens and the Greek islands. I LOVE THE PEOPLE IN BELGRADE. I have worked and lived in many countries and amassed a lot of professional experience, but rarely have I had the opportunity to meet such friendly and warm people as I have in Belgrade. I like the streets of Belgrade, the at- mosphere, which is just as I like, and of course the great food and restaurants. Belgrade is a lively, vibrant and child-friendly city.

Sarajevo A snowy Jahorina calls with a spectacular 1 st December party Singer Ceca Ražnatović, the Balkans’big- gest star, will perform on the Olympic mountain of Jahorina on 1 st December 2018 to mark the opening of an artifi- cial snow system that guarantees certain snowcover for a minimum of 120 days on 40km of Jahorina ski trails. The public will have an opportunity to enjoy Ceca’s songs in the idyllic mountain environ- ment of Jahorina for the first time, and could well experience a spectacle of Eu- ropean proportions. Rome New museum devoted to 20 th century art A new museum dedicated to the art of the 20 th century has opened at the Palazzo Merulana in Rome's historic district of Esquilino. The collection that has found a home in this imposing palace belongs to the Cerasi family and encompasses 90 works from the first half of the 20 th century. The first floor exhibits works of artists such as Donghi, Capagrossi, Casorati and Balla, while works by Boetti and Mafai are exhibited on the second floor. The museum is arranged in such a way that visitors viewing the exhibits can sit and discuss the works.

Kolekcija koja je našla dom u ovoj impozantnoj palati pripada porodici Cerasi i obuhvata 90 dela iz prve polovine 20. veka. Na prvom spratu izložena su dela umetnika kao što su Dongi, Kapagrosi, Kasorati i Bala, dok su na drugom spratu izložena dela Boetija i Mafaija. Muzej je uređen tako da posetioci koji razgledaju postavku mogu i da sednu i diskutuju o delima. Paris Car-free day

As of October, motor vehicle traffic in the centre of the French capital is banned every first Sunday of the month. Cars are not allowed to enter the city centre area from 10am to 6pm, with the area occupied by pedestrians, cyclists and people on rollerblades and scooters. With this move the authorities want to reduce pollution, while it has also been shown that noise levels reduce by three decibels comparfed to Sundays with motor vehicle traffic. The first traffic-free day in Paris was actually tested in September 2015, when this initiative was met with the general enthusiasm of Parisians.

Zagreb 16. izdanje filmskog festivala

Zagreb Film festival's 16 th edition The Zagreb Film Festival will take place from 11 th to 18 th November this year and will bring more than a hundred screenings and films. As has been the case to date, the main competition programme will provide an overview of the most interesting feature-length films of debut directors from around the world, while domestic short films will be featured in the 'Kockica' programme. Interestingly, the accompanying programme, entitled “Tycoons: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, will screen films that address the rich and powerful, according to the selection of film critic Diana Nenadić.

Prag Na jednom mestu 2,5 tona lego kocki Čuvene lego kocke obožavaju i deca i odrasli, pa su tako Česi došli na zanimljivu ideju. U prostoru Hamleys organizovali su izložbu na kojoj su predstavljena najpoznatija češka zdanja, poput zamka Karlštajn, katedrale Svetog Vida i dvorca Hluboka, ali napravljena od lego kocki. Za ovu neobičnu izložbu, koja traje do kraja 2019. godine, organizatori su koristili čak 2,5 tona lego kocki, a da bi napravili sva zdanja, utrošili su neverovatnih 13.850 sati. Posetioci mogu da uživaju i u najvećem lego rolerkosteru. Zagreb film festival će se ove godine održati od 11. do 18. novembra i doneće više od stotinu projekcija i filmova. Kao i do sada, glavni takmičarski program daće presek najzanimljivijih dugometražnih debitantskih filmova reditelja iz celog sveta, dok će domaći kratki filmovi biti predstavljeni u programu Kockice . Zanimljivo je da će u propratnom programu Tajkuni: juče, danas, sutra biti prikazani filmovi koji govore o bogatašima i moćnicima, a po izboru filmske kritičarke Diane Nenadić.

Prague 2.5 tonnes of Lego bricks in one place

The famous Lego bricks that are adored by both children and adults alike inspired the Czechs to come up with an interesting idea. Within the city's Hamleys toyshop they organised an exhibition featuring Lego brick versions of the most famous Czech buildings, such as Karlštejn Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral and Hluboká Castle. This unusual exhibition, which will run until the end of 2019, required organisers to use as much as 2.5 tonnes of lego blocks, while recreating all the buildings took an incredible 13,850 hours. Visitors can also enjoy the largest Lego roller-coaster.

Apart from being awarded the highest seven-star safety rating, Serbia’s national airline has also received five stars for its overall product and service, making it Southeast Eu- rope’s highest rated airline. “The result achieved is the best indicator of contin- uous progress and improvement of services provided to our guests. Safety always comes first, and the highest rat- ing confirms our commitment to that principle. We will continue to improve our offer in the period ahead. We are certain that we will have an even better product, despite strenuous market circumstances, stated Air Serbia’s General Manager for Commercial Services Dragana Frantov Nikolić. The evaluation of Air Serbia’s safety record and service quality by the AirlineRatings.com portal is accompanied by praise from the portal’s chief editor Geoffrey Thomas, who shed light on the Serbian national carrier’s rich history. “Air Serbia has been part of Serbia’s economic heart- beat since it was formed. The airline has a very modern fleet of Airbus and ATR aircraft and is now operationally up there with the very best,”said Thomas. L ejdi Gaga poslednjih ne- koliko meseci obilazi svet promovišući film Zvezda je rođena , u kojem igra talen- tovanu Ali, rame uz rame sa Bredli- jem Kuperom. Ekscentričnim nastu- pima dodatno je skrenula pažnju na rediteljski prvenac američkog glum- ca, koji u filmu igra muzičara Džek- sona Mejna sa zadatkom da Ali uči- ni slavom. Par pokušava da doskoči Dženet Gejnor i Frederiku Marču iz prve verzije filma (1937), Džudi Gar- land i Džejmsu Mejsonu iz adaptaci- je 1954. i Krisu Kristofersonu i Bar- bri Strajsend iz rimejka snimljenog 1976. Njena životna priča prepuna je protivrečnosti. Na jednoj strani je nje- na verzija o pretalentovanoj i bun- tovnoj devojci koja do popularnosti dolazi na težak način suprostavljaju- ći se roditeljima. Na drugoj su tvrd- nje pojedinih biografa koji kažu da je Gaga „jedna velika laž“ i da joj je kao bogatoj naslednici sve bilo ser- virano, a put do zvezda popločan uti- cajem i vezama njenog oca. Biografi ne spore da je rođena 28. marta 1986. godine u Njujorku kao Stefani Džoana Andželina Džerma- nota, najstarija ćerka italijanskih do- seljenika Sintije Džermanote i Džo- zefa Džermanote. Neupitan je i njen talenat, koji je pokazala u najrani- jem detinjstvu. – Sa četiri godine sam počela da sviram klavir. Mnogi su mojim rodi- teljima govorili da sam čudo od dete- ta jer sam izvanredno izvodila najteže kompozicije Baha, Betovena i Šope- na, ali oni nisu verovali u to. Smatra- li su da sa mnom nešto nije u redu i da sam čudna jer mi uopšte nije bi- lo zanimljivo da se družim sa osta- lom decom – ispričala je Gaga, koja je počela da komponuje sa 11 godina. Često ćete od nje čuti da je kao tinejžerka bila ausajderka koja je svoj bunt ispoljavala neobičnom odećom.
