Developed in partnership with employers, T Levels combine classroom learning with industry experience and are equivalent to three A Levels in terms of UCAS points. Our strong links with local and regional employers help ensure that our courses remain relevant and aligned with industry needs. As a result, students benefit from high-quality teaching, valuable industry experience, and excellent progression opportunities. You will learn in modern, industry-standard facilities designed to reflect real working environments. These include our digital suite for media production, accounting, games design and digital technologies, specialist science laboratories, performance studios, professional hair and beauty salons, and employer-supported construction and engineering workshops. Every year, thousands of school leavers make Preston College their first choice. Our student experience is designed to prepare you for a successful future, whether you plan to continue your studies, progress to university, secure an apprenticeship, or move directly into full-time employment.

QUALIFICATIONS Preston College offers a range of

LEARNING FACILITIES Preston College offers a wide range of learning facilities and resources that allow you to put your technical skills into practice. Facilities include industry-standard studios,

qualifications including BTECs, NVQs, T Levels, GCSEs, and Apprenticeships. Qualifications such as T Levels and BTEC Extended Diplomas are Level 3 courses and are worth UCAS points, opening up opportunities to progress to university level study. Alongside achieving your qualification, you will gain the technical skills, knowledge and experience that employers value. Preston College has strong employer links and works closely with them to shape the curriculum, ensuring you have the right skills to help you achieve your career goals. See page 56 for a selection of our facilities or visit us at our next open event for a tour. SUPPORT There are a range of support services available at Preston College. You will have tutors and Student Managers who will monitor your progress and support you in achieving your goals (see page 62 for information on Pastoral Support). Student Services offers support with finances, the College bursary, welfare, counselling, homelessness, safeguarding and transport arrangements (see pages 60–61 for Student Services and Financial Support information). PROGRESSION Some students join Preston College with a clear idea of where they would like to progress, while others discover their path during their studies. Our dedicated and supportive staff, Student Managers and Careers Team, will be there to offer advice, guidance and support whenever you need it. In this prospectus, you will find some of our student stories showing a range of progression routes including apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, employment, and university. ENRICHMENT & STUDENT FEEDBACK Enrichment activities include Student Ambassador Programmes, Student Council, badminton, boxing, netball and cricket and a range of student-led activities and clubs such as Dungeons & Dragons, Craft Club and Book Club. Students can join enrichment activities or set up new ones. Student Ambassadors and Student Council members provide valuable feedback to help improve the student experience for everyone. LANCASHIRE SKILLS COMPETITION SUCCESS The Lancashire Skills Competition brings together colleges from across the region to showcase the technical excellence, creativity and professionalism of students preparing for careers in industry. In 2026, Preston College entered teams in a range of areas including digital, science, engineering, travel and tourism, hair and beauty and health and social care. Preston College students secured top-three placings in hairdressing, make-up and barbering, while both Hair and Beauty and Travel and Tourism teams were declared overall winners.

ACHIEVEMENT WEEK The end-of-year celebrations took place during the College’s Achievement Week 2026. Students officially completed their courses, submitted their final assignments and had the chance to celebrate with classmates. Celebration assemblies were held across campus, with awards and prizes presented alongside a range of fun activities, including the ever-popular petting zoo.

CELEBRATING SUCCESS The 2025–26 academic year was another fantastic year of success, achievement and celebration. Our annual award ceremonies for students, apprentices and employers are highlights in the College calendar. The Student Awards recognise the exceptional accomplishments, commitment and determination demonstrated by students. Our Employer Awards shine a light on the achievements of our apprentices and celebrate the strong partnerships the College has with employers. Both events are filled with inspirational stories as families, friends and college staff come together to celebrate success.

£3.6M CONSTRUCTION CENTRE TRANSFORMATION FOR 2027/28 Preston College has secured £3.6 million of Government funding to transform and expand its Construction Skills Centre. The project will create greater capacity for a modern, industry-standard training facility to train the future workforce Lancashire needs to support its ambitious housing, infrastructure and economic growth. The enhanced facilities will be ready for the 2027/28 academic year.

24 HOUR DANCE-A-THON RAISES OVER £3,000 In February 2026, Preston College staff and performing arts students completed a 24 hour dance-a-thon fundraising challenge. The challenge was in memory of one of our students Nicole, who unexpectedly passed away. Nicole had a deep passion for the performing arts, especially musicals and dance, and her creativity, energy and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. The playlist for the final hour was created by her friends and family from Nicole’s favourite songs. At the end of the event, the fundraising target had been beaten three times with the final total surpassing £3,000.

APPRENTICES EXCEL AT SKILLBUILD REGIONAL QUALIFIERS Preston College apprentices competed across a range of construction disciplines in the SkillBuild 2026 Regional Qualifiers, achieving success in several categories. In Wall and Floor Tiling, Joseph Mort (DM Tiling) secured 1st place, while Thomas Robinson (Peter Robinson t/a CKC Property) achieved an impressive 3rd place finish. In Carpentry, Oliver Bullen (Sawdust Conversions) was awarded 1st place. In Joinery, Henry Flowers (Hare and Levitt Ltd) delivered an excellent performance, earning 2nd place. Steve Catterall, Lecturer for Wood Occupations said, “We are incredibly proud of all of our apprentices who took part. The standard across the competition was extremely high, and our apprentices rose to the challenge brilliantly.”

T Levels are employer-designed qualifications that combine classroom learning with an in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 315 hours or 45 days, helping you develop the skills, knowledge, and experience needed for your future career. T Levels are equivalent to three A Levels, in terms of UCAS points, and you can progress to higher levels of study with them (see the table on page 17). They can also be used to secure employment or a higher or degree apprenticeship. COMBINED STUDIES

Combined Studies at Preston College is a collection of curriculum packages which combine complementary subjects to broaden a student’s skills, knowledge, and opportunities. Combined study packages are available in science and social science and digital. Each package is equivalent to three A-Levels and are awarded UCAS points, depending on your grades.

SCIENCE & SOCIAL SCIENCE The science and social science package combines applied science, criminology and psychology qualifications. Each qualification is equivalent to one A-Level and is worth up to 56 UCAS points (depending on your grades) which can be used for entry to a wide range of university packages. You will study all three of the qualifications giving you the opportunity to gain up to 168 UCAS points. The science and social science subjects have been selected as they complement each other and provide a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that can be applied to any area of science.

DIGITAL The digital package combines qualifications in Information Technology (IT), Computing, Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence (AI). ENTRY CRITERIA

You’ll find entry criteria information on our website, but as a reference here is a short overview of what we are looking for at each level. If you do not meet these requirements, we may take into consideration your individual circumstances.

LEVEL 1 Students need a profile of mainly grade 2s at GCSE including English Language and maths. You will need to attend an interview showing your interest in the subject and a willingness to learn. LEVEL 2 Students need four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including at least one of English Language or maths. The other subject should have a minimum grade of 2. E.g. if you have a grade 3 in maths, then you would need at least a grade 2 in English Language. You’ll also be required to attend an interview to discuss your suitability for the course. FUTURE READY A PATHWAY FOR HOME SCHOOLED AND PRE-ENTRY STUDENTS The Future Ready Transition Pathway provides opportunities for young people to develop their skills, build their confidence and prepare them for further study. It is specifically designed for students with no formal educational experience or those who have been home- schooled, assessed at Entry Level 2 or Entry Level 3.

We recommend that you try your best at school and work hard to achieve the grades that will help to get your career off to a flying start. Regardless of outcomes, don’t worry, at Preston College we have a range of Level 1 courses that can help you realise your career ambitions. Your Level 1 course will include your core subject and additional units including Maths, English, Personal Development, Employability Skills, and Working with Others. You will also have additional opportunities such as guest speakers, work experience and projects to enhance your learning experience. On GCSE results day, if your results are not what you expected, get in touch with our Careers Guidance Team, and they can advise you on your options. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COMPLETE MY COURSE? • During your programme, you will have regular meetings with your Student Manager to see if you are ready to progress to the next level of study. • At the end of your course you will choose which subject you’d like to study at Level 2. • You could also go on to study an Apprenticeship at Level 2. AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES

Careers in the automotive industry include automotive technicians, motorsport engineers, vehicle designers and business owners. With the growth of hybrid and electric vehicles, there are exciting opportunities for innovation and a strong demand for skilled professionals. Preston College stays at the forefront of automotive developments by delivering specialist training in hybrid and electric vehicle technology. Students develop the skills to install, maintain and troubleshoot electric vehicle charging systems, while gaining an understanding of charging protocols and electrical safety. Our iSTEM Automotive Workshop features industry-standard facilities, including demonstration vehicles, diagnostic equipment, mechanic toolkits, hydro-pneumatic lifts and a bespoke electric vehicle charging-point training rig developed by Nissan.

At Preston College, our T Level in Education and Early Years combines classroom learning with an extended industry placement, providing valuable real-world experience. You will study child development, safeguarding, health and safety, wellbeing, supporting learning, managing behaviour, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and working with families and support services. EVENTS, TOURISM & HOSPITALITY The events, tourism and hospitality industry is an area with a lot of different job roles and opportunities. You can work anywhere in the world in a variety of settings including travel agencies, airports, hotels, holiday resorts and visitor attractions such as theme parks, zoos, and stately homes. In terms of events, you could be organising small scale fundraisers, parties in the park, festivals, or weddings. Both sectors are customer facing so you’ll need to be good with people and have great communication skills.
