Meet Daniela Dadurian MD Medical Director of MD Beauty Labs, Aesthetics & Wellness Spa
A physician’s view of the latest trends. In today’s fast-paced world, the concept of wellness has evolved far beyond simply treating illness. Modern medicine increasingly recognizes the importance of whole-person rejuvenation—an approach that combines internal health optimization with external aesthetic rejuvenation to enhance longevity, vitality, and quality of life. Rather than focusing solely on appearance or disease management, this comprehensive philosophy emphasizes preventing disease from within while supporting confidence and healthy aging from the outside. A cornerstone of health optimization is hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for appropriately evaluated men and women. As hormone levels naturally decline with age, individuals may experience fatigue, loss of muscle mass, reduced libido, cognitive changes, poor sleep, and decreased bone density. When prescribed and monitored by qualified healthcare professionals, hormone replacement can help restore physiologic balance, improve energy, preserve lean muscle, support cardiovascular and bone health, and enhance overall well-being. Personalized treatment based on laboratory testing and individual goals is essential for achieving optimal results safely. Peptide therapy has also emerged as an exciting advancement in regenerative medicine. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules, encouraging the body’s natural healing processes. BPC-157 has gained attention for its potential to support soft tissue repair, promote angiogenesis, and aid recovery from musculoskeletal injuries. KPV is recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties and may help modulate immune responses while supporting gastrointestinal health. TB-500 is commonly used to encourage tissue repair, flexibility, and recovery following injury. In addition, GLP-1 receptor agonists have transformed metabolic health by improving blood sugar regulation, promoting satiety, facilitating significant weight loss, and reducing cardiovascular risk in appropriate patients. These therapies represent powerful tools when incorporated into individualized medical care. Regenerative aesthetics reflect a growing trend toward stimulating the body’s own repair mechanisms rather than simply replacing lost volume. Copper peptide GHK-Cu has demonstrated potential to stimulate collagen production, improve skin quality, and support wound healing. Hydrolyzed collagen powders may provide amino acids that support connective tissue health when combined with adequate nutrition. Exosome-based therapies are being investigated for their ability to enhance cellular communication and tissue regeneration. Injectable collagen stimulators, including poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra®), calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse®), and polynucleotide treatments derived from salmon DNA, work by encouraging the body’s natural collagen production, gradually improving skin texture, elasticity, and structural support for long-lasting, natural-looking rejuvenation. Equally important is preserving and rebuilding muscle as we age or after significant weight loss. Muscle is essential for metabolic health, strength, balance, and independence. Emsculpt Neo combines high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology with synchronized radiofrequency energy to induce thousands of supramaximal muscle contractions while simultaneously reducing fat. This dual-action treatment strengthens muscles and improves body composition without surgery. In addition to its aesthetic applications, Emsculpt Neo has recently received FDA clearance for specific rehabilitative and therapeutic indications in physical therapy, highlighting its expanding role in functional recovery and muscle rehabilitation. Together, these innovations illustrate how whole-person rejuvenation empowers individuals to look better, feel stronger, and age with greater health, resilience, and confidence.

Harrison’s Essentials Rear Ended by Formalities. — by Harrison Vale
My chauffeur would seem the obvious solution, except he is currently refusing all post-sedation assignments. The clause appeared in his contract after my last dental procedure, when I spent the ride home attempting to purchase a toll bridge and appoint him its director of transportation. My cat is discreet, punctual and incapable of gossip.
I have always believed modern medicine works best when the patient ar- rives promptly, answers only the questions that matter and
He maintains that colonoscopy anesthesia may produce similar behavior, and he is unwilling to spend another afternoon explaining to me that public infrastructure is not for sale. My closest friends are perfectly pleasant over dinner, but asking one of them to accompany me to a colonoscopy would alter the relationship be- yond repair. There are boundaries between gen- tlemen, and the digestive tract is several miles beyond them. Family was equally impossible. I refuse to provide relatives with a story they could repeat at Thanksgiving for the next twenty years.
leaves before anyone attempts to discuss cholester- ol. This arrangement has served me perfectly well for years. Unfortunately, it does not apply to colo- noscopies, which apparently require a supporting cast, a transportation plan and the temporary sur- render of one’s dignity. My physician recommended the procedure with the casual confidence of a man who would not be drinking the preparation. I accept- ed the medical necessity without protest. I am nearly sixty, and while I consider this a clerical error, certain parts of the body have begun requesting official inspections. What I did not anticipate was that the hos- pital would become intensely interested in my social life. A woman from scheduling called to ar- range the appointment and informed me that I could not drive myself home. This seemed reasonable, since I would be se- dated and presumably in no condition to select an appropriate route, much less op- erate a Bentley. I told her I would take an Uber. “You cannot take an Uber,” she replied. “en I’ll take a car service.” “at is also not permitted.” I asked if the hospital had developed a personal grievance against professional drivers. She explained that I must arrive with a responsible adult who would remain on the premises, listen to the discharge in- structions and escort me home. I found the phrase “responsible adult” needlessly judgmental. I am surrounded by adults, although very few of them have displayed enough responsibility to qualify for medi- cal transportation.
This left acquaintances. I pictured calling someone I had met briefly at a gala, perhaps the fellow who com- plimented my dinner jacket while we waited for the auctioneer to stop shout- ing. What does one say? “Good afternoon. We met beside the champagne tower at the Preservation Foundation benefit. You admired my lapels. Would you care to spend Tues- day morning in a gastroenterology waiting room and assume legal custody of me afterward?” ere is no wording elegant enough to rescue that invitation. I explained this predicament to the scheduler, who responded with the sort of silence usually reserved for peo- ple negotiating with a parking meter. I then proposed bringing my cat. He is punctual, discreet and considerably more responsible than half the peo- ple seated at any Palm Beach charity dinner. He would not interrupt the discharge instructions, ask intrusive questions or post a photograph of my hospital bracelet. His inability to drive was admittedly inconvenient, but no more so than the hospital’s refusal to let a professional do it.

“Sir, a cat cannot serve as your companion.” “at sounds discriminatory.” “It is hospital policy.” “Then you have left me with no al- ternative. If you will not permit me to Uber home, you shall have to consider me a permanent resident of the hospi- tal. I’ll require a private room, decent linens and somewhere to store a case of Bordeaux.” She began to say something about insurance. “I should also warn you that I dislike fluorescent lighting, lukewarm coffee and televisions mounted too close to the ceiling.”
PLUMBING / SEPTIC SERVICES
She hung up.
I have not yet scheduled the colo- noscopy. The medical establishment may consider this a failure of patient compliance, but I consider it an unre- solved transportation dispute. My cat remains available, Uber remains will- ing, and I am prepared to move into the hospital indefinitely if necessary. I simply hope they understand that permanent residency includes valet parking.

Island News Desk – Lynn Marie Squillace Noteworthy developments from Palm Beach
F ew places capture the evolu- tion of Palm Beach quite like the former Neiman Marcus property. What began as a celebrat- ed chapter in the island’s luxury re- tail story in 2000 is now poised for an elegant reinvention. A familiar Palm Beach landmark is getting a sophisticated new lease on life as Worth Avenue enters another era of luxury retail. For nearly two decades, Neiman Marcus was a defining presence at 151 Worth Avenue. Its arrival in Palm Beach in 2000 was significant. The three-story, approximately 48,600-square-foot building occupied an entire acre at the eastern end of Worth Avenue, just steps from the Atlantic Ocean. It was, in fact, the last building con- structed on Worth Avenue. For Palm Beach shoppers, the store quickly became part of the island’s retail landscape, offering designer fashion, accessories, jewelry, and the personalized service associated with the Neiman Marcus brand. Neiman Marcus remained at 151 Worth for two decades before clos- ing in late 2020 amid the company’s bankruptcy restructuring. For a time, the future of the large space was uncertain. That period of uncertainty is now giving way to a reimagined future. Today, the familiar Neiman Marcus

sign may be gone, but the story of 151 Worth Avenue is far from over. The property is entering another chapter. One that reflects not only the changing face of luxury retail, but also Palm Beach’s ability to reinvent its most coveted addresses while remaining mindful of the character that made them special in the first place. The property was purchased in November 2025 for a recorded $80.5 million by TZ Cap- ital, a West Palm Beach-based real estate in- vestment firm led by Tyler Tananbaum, Teddy Tananbaum and Sam Zuckert. The purchase followed a $78 million sale in 2022 to an entity associated with billionaire Ken Griffin. TZ Capital’s plans call for a substantial renova- tion of the former department store building, with the large retail foot print reimagined for a collection of smaller, luxury oriented spaces. The building’s story is also a reflection of how Palm Beach itself has evolved. When Nei- man Marcus opened its doors in 2000, the town’s retail landscape looked very different. The store quickly became part of the island’s luxury shopping experience attracting both long-term residents and visitors looking for the distinctive mix of fashion, service and so- phistication associated with the Neiman Mar- cus name. More than two decades later, Palm Beach con- tinues to change. The island has seen an influx of new businesses, new residents, and new in- “The former Neiman Marcus property represents more than an empty storefront. vestment, while longstanding landmarks have been reconsidered for a new generation. In that environment, the former Neiman Mar- cus property represents more than an empty storefront. It is a piece of Palm Beach histo- ry entering a new phase, with the potential to once again become a destination in its own right. For now, the building is a work in prog- ress. The former Neiman Marcus is expect- ed to emerge as a collection of luxury retail
and lifestyle offerings rather than a single department store. The plans include multi- ple businesses, a restaurant, outdoor space, landscaping, valet service and architectural enhancements designed to make the property feel less like a traditional retail box and more like an integrated Worth Avenue destination. Perhaps most tellingly, the project is being po- sitioned not as an isolated redevelopment, but as part of the continued evolution of Worth Avenue.

For shoppers who remember walking through Neiman Marcus, the transformation may initially feel bittersweet, but Palm Beach has never been particularly interested in standing still. The store that once occupied 151 Worth Avenue was built for the shopping habits of another era. The new development is being designed for a different one-one in which

When Neiman Marcus opened its doors in Palm Beach in 2000, the island was already synonymous with luxury, but the landscape of that luxury has evolved considerably over the past quarter-century. The Palm Beach of 2000 was more traditional and understated, with established re- tailers, longtime family-owned businesses and a clientele drawn largely to the island’s timeless appeal. Today, Palm Beach has become an even more sophisticat- ed and internationally recognized destination, attracting a new generation of affluent residents, visitors, designers, restaurateurs and luxury brands. Worth Avenue remains at the heart of the island’s identity, but the definition of luxury has expanded beyond shop- ping to encompass exceptional dining, hospitality, well- ness, design and experiences. In many ways, the trans- formation of the former Neiman Marcus site reflects that broader evolution-honoring Palm Beach’s storied past while embracing a very different vision of its future. What happens next is part of a larger conversation about preserving Palm Beach’s sense of place while allowing its commercial landscape to evolve. The challenge is find- ing a balance between honoring what residents remember and creating something that feels relevant to the future. For a property with such a recognizable history, that bal- ance may be just as important as the physical transforma- tion itself.

Palm Beach Ray of Hope is Turning Local Generosity into Local Impact Janet Levy’s foundation is keeping overhead lean, directing major support to Palm Beach County causes and building momentum for its next season of philanthropy.
For Janet Levy, philanthropy should be measured by what actually reaches the people a charity is trying to help. That principle shaped the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Foundation, which Levy founded in 2024 with a group of local supporters committed to keeping expenses modest and impact close to home. The calendar also includes smaller programs with equally concrete aims. On November 24, Ray of Hope plans a Thanksgiving giveaway of complete family meals, including turkeys, pies and gift cards, for Palm Beach- area households in need. Recent “Naughty or Nice” and New Year’s Eve gatherings at Stage also raised support for local veterans.
One of the foundation’s biggest efforts has been its support of veterans through Tunnel to Towers Foundation. After raising approximately $1.7 million at Dancing with the Palm Beach Stars, Levy said the foundation presented a $1.5 million check designated to support veterans in Palm Beach County. The next goal is even more ambitious: creating a local veterans village. Levy and her team are searching for land or an existing property that could be developed into housing for veterans, with developers already expressing interest in helping. The proposal follows the Tunnel to Towers model of pairing housing with practical assistance. Its veterans villages provide single-room occupancy

Residents can remain long term or use the program as a bridge to independent housing. Ray of Hope’s work also extends to children’s health and education. At the March 27, 2026 gala, local personalities competed with professional partners before judges Artem Chigvintsev and Karina Smirnoff, from Dancing with the Stars. Joey Fatone of *NSYNC served as master of ceremonies. Dinner, dance performances, and live and silent auctions kept the program moving, with proceeds directed toward veterans’ housing through Tunnel to Towers. The event returns February 27, 2027, at Mar-a-Lago. Co-chairs Levy, Max McNamara and Kim Albers are planning a field of 12 Palm Beach community figures partnered with professionals from Legacy DanceSport Studio. Tunnel to Towers chairman and CEO Frank Siller is also expected to attend, along with veterans and military leaders. A January 29 Motown-themed event at The Colony will support Palm Beach Children’s Hospital at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Memory Lane will perform Motown favorites, joined by tributes to Tina Turner, Barry White, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston. The evening also includes cocktails, a buffet dinner, dancing and a silent auction. The common thread is simple: raise money, keep it moving and make sure the community can see the result.
The nursing scholarships take a similarly practical approach. They help working students continue their education while building the healthcare workforce, turning charitable dollars into credentials, career advancement and more trained caregivers in the community. Levy also believes fundraising should be enjoyable. Last season’s Dancing with the Palm Beach Stars attracted 735 guests and featured celebrity appearances, dancing and an atmosphere designed to make philanthropy feel personal rather than formal. Dear Keeper of the Seating Charts, A charity gala may feature orchids and string music, but the seating chart remains a tactical operation conducted in evening clothes. Your friend knows this. She is applying pressure be- cause she believes friendship should provide benefits unavailable at the ticket desk.
AND DOORS PARTNER & PROUD ROOFING PARTNER
Do not move the other couple. They should not lose their seats because someone louder has discovered the language of implied social consequences. Ask the gala chair or executive di- rector to approve the arrangement so you are speaking for the organization, not defending a personal decision. Then tell your friend, “The seating plan reflects sponsorship commitments, accessibility needs and the charity’s established relationships. I cannot promise a particular placement, but I hope you will join us and support the evening.” Do not reveal donation amounts, compare guests or explain the hidden arith- metic of the room. If her ticket level guaranteed a table location, honor it. Other- wise, she purchased admission, dinner and the opportunity to support the cause, not proximity to a more desirable surname. Her threat to withdraw support reveals whether her generosity serves the mission or her social ambitions. Keep a private record of the complaint and your response. Fundraising organizations develop astonishing amnesia when an offended guest calls a different committee member, and a written note prevents several altered versions of the grievance. After the gala, recommend clearer ticket and sponsorship benefits. Guests should know which levels include table place- ment, recognition or host access. Transparency will not cure vanity, but it deprives vanity of a contractual argument. Remain pleasant at the event. Greet her warmly, introduce her table-mates thoughtfully and refuse to look frightened. A seating chart can survive disappointment. So can a friendship that deserves the name. Respectfully, Olivia Montclair Comments or Suggestions: Advice@mediaoms.com

Where Hospitality Meets Heart: Janet Ruggeri — by Diana Davis
A wonderful afternoon began with one of those little moments that makes you smile because it feels almost too perfect to be accidental. I walked into BiCE for lunch with my fabulous friend Janet Ruggeri, and we both stopped in our tracks. My top matched her pants, and my pants matched her top. We looked at each other and laughed. It was, in a way, the perfect visual representation of our simpatico energies. Janet and I immediately gravitated toward each other when we first met. There was an ease to the friendship that felt almost surprising. Sometimes you meet someone and spend months getting to
know them. Other times, there is an immediate recognition—as if you see a little bit of yourself in theotherperson.ThatwasJanet.Asourfriendship has grown, so has our partnership. What excites me most is that it isn’t simply beneficial to either of us individually. We have discovered that our talents, experiences and passions complement each other in ways that make me believe we can accomplish so much more together than either of us could alone. Over lunch, we shared food, stories and plenty of laughter. Janet ordered the salmon pizza she always gets, which I had somehow never tasted. I ordered my favorite shrimp and asparagus pasta, which she had never tried. Naturally, we ended up loving each other’s choices. But then, it was BiCE. Who doesn’t love everything on the menu? I had come with a question for Janet: What is the one thing she would want people to know about her? Her answer came without hesitation. “I have never really been motivated by money.” Of course, she understands that you have to make a living. But money has never been what gets her out of bed in the morning.

“For me, the reward has always been the outcome,” she told me. “I want to be able to put my head on my pillow at night and know that I did something for the right reason. That I helped somebody. That I made something better. That I took care of someone when they needed it.” Suddenly, so many pieces of Janet’s life made sense. She has spent much of her career in hospitality, but to Janet, hospitality has never simply meant taking a reservation or putting food on a table. It is noticing. Anticipating. Understanding what someone needs before they have to ask. Making people feel welcome, respected and remembered. That philosophy followed her into real estate, where she became a successful Realtor. Even there, she never thought of herself as a salesperson. “I wasn’t interested in selling someone a house. I wanted to find them their perfect first home.” She wanted the buyer to get a good deal, the seller to feel good about the transaction and everyone involved to feel taken care of. Perhaps that instinct goes all the way back to where she started. Janet grew up in Huntington Beach, California. At 18, she went to Europe to pursue modeling, spending years primarily in Barcelona and Milan and eventually traveling throughout Europe. From the outside, modeling can look glamorous. From the inside, it can be extraordinarily hard work.

“There is rejection. There are days when you don’t feel beautiful. You learn very quickly that you cannot build your entire sense of worth around whether someone else thinks you are right for a job.” Looking back, Janet considers those years a degree in life. Modeling taught her independence, resilience and how to walk into a room where she didn’t know anyone and figure things out. She later moved into the music business and hospitality, working at a recording studio in Los Angeles, where her job was essentially to make sure everyone was taken care of. That came naturally to her. “I learned that people respond to how you treat them. They remember whether you cared. They remember whether you respected them. They remember how you made them feel.” That lesson eventually brought her to Palm Beach. Janet came to Florida for love and, with Raffaele’s support, began building a new chapter. She saw an opportunity to bring something special to hospitality here—not by changing what already existed, but by adding to it. “The flowers. The artwork. The welcome. The little personal touches,” she explained. “Someone has trusted you with an important moment in their life. That matters to me.” And she means everyone—the guests, families, charity organizations, vendors and especially the staff. I understood that even more clearly one day when I was talking with the staff. They told me this was the only place they had ever worked where they could sincerely say they loved the owners.

ANNEKATRIN’S TRAVEL EDIT
The Rosé Route of Provence
F or me, summer in Provence will always be as- sociated with rosé. It belongs naturally to the region, alongside the vineyards, olive groves, vil- lage cafés and long Provençal lunches. One of the pleasures of traveling here is how well you eat almost everywhere. Even the smallest café or village restaurant can serve wonderful food with a local rosé as its table wine, often from a producer you have never heard of, and it can be surprisingly good. Then there are the famous estates, whose names and pale pink bottles you recognize from home. Visiting them and tasting the wines where they are made became part of the journey. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is one of my favorite towns in the region. To me, it feels like the heart of Provence, with a beautiful old town, charming streets and lovely Provençal shops filled with lin- ens, ceramics, baskets and things you inevitably want to bring home. Through vineyards, villages and the pale pink wines of Provence.

Van Gogh spent a year here at Saint-Paul-de- Mausole, then a mental asylum, where he painted some of his most famous works. Today you can visit his room and walk through the surrounding gardens, seeing the original views and landscapes that appeared in his paintings. Just outside Saint-Rémy is Château des Alpilles , a magical family-owned hotel that feels less like a hotel and more like being invited to stay at some- one’s private château. Set in beautiful grounds be- neath enormous plane trees, it is the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Driving through the countryside is part of the ex- perience. The roads pass vineyards, olive groves and tiny villages. If you love rosé, make the vine- yards themselves part of the trip. Many can be vis- ited, but it is best to arrange appointments ahead of time. Domaine de Domaine de Fontenille is somewhere I would stay rather than simply visit. The beautiful hotel sits among its own vineyards in the Luberon and has a wonderful restaurant. T heir Cuvée Alphonse Rosé is aged in oak , giving it a richer, rounder and more complex character than the pale, crisp rosés usually associated with Provence. It was absolutely delicious and one of the most memorable wines of the trip. CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE Fontenille Stay Among the Vines
