Progressive Lesson Registration Lessons in gymnastics, trampoline, swimming, and skating require activity outcome results (i.e. ready/not ready assessment) prior to registration in the next level. Check your levels online under Activity Outcomes in your online client record at newwestcity.ca/register . If your last lesson set was prior to 2021, please call the lesson facility for more information on your correct level, or for assistance with activity outcomes. GYMNASTICS & TRAMPOLINE Participants may register for multiple lessons of the same level per session. Participants can only advance to the next level if the prerequisites are met and entered into their Activity Outcomes. If you are currently enrolled in a lesson set, Activity Outcomes will be posted after the second to last day of your lesson set or prior to the registration start Participants may only register for one lesson set at a time to ensure level prerequisites are met. Participants currently enrolled in a lesson set may not be on a waitlist for a later set. Participants who register in more than one lesson set will be withdrawn by staff, with the refund policy in effect. If you are currently enrolled in a lesson set, your Activity Outcomes will be posted after the second to last day of your lesson set. If you need a level assessment, please request an evaluation from staff during a drop-in session. Caregiver Participation Where listed, a caregiver 15+ years must accompany participants and partake in the program. date for the next season. Additional Swims Sensory-friendly Swim (All Ages)
Pool Etiquette • Everyone must shower with soap before entering the water. Showers are available on-deck and in all change areas. Soap is provided. Learn more at newwestcity.ca/keep-it-fresh • No food is permitted in the pool or change area. • No outside shoes are permitted on the pool deck. • Changing must be done in the stalls/cubicles or gendered change rooms. • Strollers are permitted in universal change area or in the viewing area, accessible from the lobby. • Children 6 years and under must be accompanied in the water by a capable swimmer 15+ years. Maximum 2 children per caregiver. Out-of-water supervision of participants is permitted at no cost for children 7+ years. • 3 metre diving board and 5 metre diving platform users must be 7+ years. 1 metre diving board users 6 years and under must have a caregiver in the water. • Lanes are for length swimming and water running only. Share lanes with other participants, swimming at a similar pace, and swimming on the right side of lane. • Adult hot tub, steam room, and sauna users must be 15+ years. Water bottles must remain outside. • Any activities that could reasonably be perceived as competing with or replicating City-run lessons or programs are not allowed. Public Swim (All Ages) Enjoy access to the leisure pool, lap pool and amenities. The leisure lanes will be shared with swim lessons during lesson times. Amenities include: • Universal & gendered change areas with private and shared showers, and free lockers. • Leisure pool with 25 m lanes, lazy river, spray features, tot zone and gradual entry. Adjacent family hot tub, adult hot tub, steam room and sauna. • Lap pool with 25 m lanes, 50 m lanes, 1 & 3 m diving boards, 5 m diving platform, and adjustable height floor. • Lifts and water wheelchairs are available, please call for more information. • Inflatable Wibit obstacle course is open on long weekends and select holidays. Shallow & Deep Aquafit (15+ years) Experience zero impact in our deep-water class or low-impact in our shallow-water class. Comfort in deep water is essential. Shallow Aquafit - Guided Water Walking (15+ years) This low impact water-walking program is designed for those struggling with mobility and balance from injury, disease or general muscle and joint concerns. Follow guided water walking exercises that focus on mobility, strength, and stretching. Deep Water Fun & Run (15+ years) Learn a mix of water running techniques and strength moves while suspended in deep water. Floatation belts provided. Comfort in deep water is essential.
Relax in an inclusive, low-stimulus environment with reduced noise, no water features, whistles for emergencies only, no PA announcements, dimmed lighting, lowered curtains, and quiet transitions. Suitable for those with sensory processing needs. Childminding (2 months - 5 years) *NEW PROCESS* Participate in on-site programs while children enjoy a bright play space. A safe, supervised setting supports exploration, play, and social interaction with age-appropriate activities. Registration is recommended for limited-capacity drop-in. One-hour blocks include 15 minutes before and after as a grace period for transitions. Modifications are demonstrated and can include some floor work. Babywearing Barre (15+ years) Combine elements of ballet, pilates, yoga, and strength training. Class focus on a full body muscular endurance workout. Cardio Mix (15+ years) Expertly combine the major components of fitness with an emphasis on cardio, flexibility, muscular strength, endurance in a high-energy class. Cardio Step (15+ years) Combine cardio step and intervals with an added resistance challenge to make this a well-rounded workout. Cardio Workout (15+ years) Enjoy a stimulating cardio class of high or low interval training. Workout (50+ years) offers a low-impact option. Chair Yoga, Yoga (50+ years) Boost mindfulness, balance and flexibility with the support of a chair. Experience Yoga 50+, with modified options. All levels and abilities are welcome. Core Strength & Conditioning (15+ years) Combine core exercises with functional movements to enhance stability and performance. Cycle, Cycle Express (15+ years) Experience a non-impact cardio workout including indoor cycling intervals and drills. Cycle & Strength (15+ years) Expect a full body workout with cycling for cardio followed by strength training with bands and dumbbells.
Cycle & Stretch (15+ years) Find relaxation in a calming class that transitions an invigorating ride to stretches.
