Lighting the Way Forward with Innovation and Integrity
Lighting the Way Forward
Since its founding in 1977, Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions (HLP Solutions) has grown from a modest lighting agency in Dallas into a regional leader in the architectural lighting industry. Guided by core values of trust, transparency, and innovation, HLP Solutions has steadily expanded its reach and influence across the southern United States. Today, under the leadership of Managing Principal and CEO Al Near, the employee-owned company continues to thrive by staying true to its commitment to client satisfaction and cutting-edge lighting solutions. In a recent interview with Built America Magazine, Al Near and Outside Specification Sales expert Michael Peterson, shared the company’s journey, its emphasis on collaboration, and how innovation fuels their passion for creating value in every project. A Legacy of Trust and Employee Ownership Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions was founded by Danny Hossley, and from the very beginning, the company was driven by a mission to improve lighting environments in ways that add value to clients. That mission remains at the heart of Hossley’s success more than four decades later. "What inspired our company originally was a passion for lighting environments in a way that adds value to the client," said Al Near.
"Our core values over the years have centered on transparency and trustworthiness throughout the design and construction process." One of the defining moments in Hossley’s history came in 1997, when it became employee-owned, a strategic move that deepened the company’s dedication to its mission. "Employee ownership ensures that every employee of the company is aligned with our values," Al explained. "It’s more than just a job for us—everyone here has a personal investment in delivering the best possible results for our clients." From its origins in Dallas, HLP Solutions has expanded across Texas and beyond, opening offices in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Lubbock, and additional offices throughout Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Alabama. Despite its growth, the company has maintained its personalized, community-centered approach, which has been critical to its long-term success.
14
A Client-Centered Approach: Seamless Solutions from Start to Finish One of Hossley’s key differentiators is its comprehensive, client-centered approach. The company doesn’t just sell lighting products—it provides a full- service solution from the design phase to construction and beyond. "Our goal isn’t just to provide localized value; we want to offer that same value to the specification community throughout the region," said Al Near. "We’re built to deliver consistency, whether a project is in Dallas or New Orleans or anywhere else." This continuity of service, no matter the project’s location or complexity, is what sets Hossley apart from other firms. In the world of architectural lighting, many companies struggle with gaps between design and construction.
Hossley eliminates those gaps, providing seamless coordination between all phases of a project. "We eliminate the disjointedness you often see in the industry," Al said. "Our approach ensures that clients get consistent service from the start of the project to its completion." For Michael Peterson, this hands-on, collaborative approach is what keeps Hossley ahead in the market. "We stay close to our clients by having open conversations with architects, engineers, and contractors," Michael explained. "We ask them what they need, what they want, and we tailor our solutions around that. It’s these conversations that drive us to stay on top of the latest trends and provide better solutions." Cutting-Edge Lighting Solutions At the core of Hossley’s success is its dedication to staying at the forefront of lighting technology.
15
The company represents some of the most respected manufacturers in the industry, offering a wide range of lighting products, from practical solutions to the most innovative technologies on the market. "We provide everything from linear fixtures and downlighting to dynamic lighting solutions that can change color and mood depending on the environment," said Al Near. One of the standout features of Hossley’s offerings is its expertise in dynamic lighting, which is increasingly being used in architectural projects like bridge lighting and public spaces . Hossley’s recent work on the Williams Crossing Bridge in Tulsa, Oklahoma is a testament to its ability to execute large- scale, high-profile projects. "The results were phenomenal," Al said, noting the collaboration with lighting designer Domingo Gonzalez and other key stakeholders. "Dynamic lighting like this creates environments that can transform depending on the needs of the space, and that’s what we love—being able to push the boundaries of what’s possible with lighting." In addition to dynamic lighting, Hossley is heavily involved in advancing circadian rhythm lighting, which mimics natural light cycles and has proven benefits in healthcare and educational settings. Michael Peterson highlighted the impact of this technology: "We’ve had great discussions with architects and engineers about tunable white lighting for schools and hospitals. It’s a way to improve people’s health and well-being through lighting, and it’s exciting to be a part of that."
16
As an employee-owned company, Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions is deeply committed to fostering the growth and development of its team. The company places a strong emphasis on providing opportunities for employees to expand their skills, move into leadership positions, and pursue their professional aspirations. "We want to hire professionals who are eager to grow," said Al. "We give them opportunities to take on new roles and responsibilities, whether it’s within our service infrastructure or in external sales roles." This culture of growth is reflected in Michael Peterson’s own journey with the company. "Hossley has supported me in my path toward becoming a licensed architect," Michael shared. "They’ve given me the tools I need to succeed, and it’s been an incredible experience." Hossley also encourages employees to stay at the forefront of industry trends, whether through attending conferences or engaging with new technologies. "It’s important for us to continue learning and bringing the latest innovations to our clients," Michael added. Fostering Growth and Empowering Employees
"That’s what sets us apart—we’re always pushing to be better."
17
"They stepped up when we needed resources, and it’s been great to see how they support the next generation of architects." Sustainability is another key area where Hossley shines. "We’re in a sector that’s inherently about energy conservation," said Al Near. "Solid-state lighting is all about providing better light while using less energy." The company works with manufacturers that prioritize sustainable practices, from reducing packaging waste to lowering carbon footprints through local distribution centers. Hossley is also focused on daylight harvesting and lighting control systems that help clients reduce energy consumption and create healthier, more sustainable environments. "It’s not just about the products we sell," Al emphasized. "It’s about the solutions we offer that help our clients meet their sustainability goals."
Sustainability and Community Engagement: A Commitment to Making a Difference Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions is not just focused on business—it’s deeply committed to making a positive impact in the communities it serves. The company supports various local organizations and initiatives, particularly those related to architecture and design."Hossley has always been involved in the community," said Michael Peterson, who has led the Young Architects Committee in Austin with Hossley’s sponsorship.
18
"We’re looking at how we can integrate all systems to create more efficient, smarter buildings." At its core, Hossley’s success is built on one simple principle: putting the client first. "As long as we stay focused on delivering value and staying ahead of the curve, we’ll keep growing," said Al. "We’re committed to being the best partner for our clients, wherever their projects take them." Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions continues to be a leader in the lighting industry, defined by its innovative approach, dedication to sustainability, and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. With nearly five decades of experience and a future filled with growth and possibility, Hossley is lighting the way forward for the architectural lighting industry and beyond.
As Hossley Lighting and Power Solutions looks toward the future, the company remains focused on growth and innovation. "We’ve expanded our offerings beyond just lighting," said Al Near, noting the company’s move into acoustics and shading systems. "It’s an exciting area for us, especially as clients are looking for more integrated solutions." The company is also exploring new opportunities in building automation, including HVAC control systems, as part of its commitment to staying ahead of technological advancements. . "We’re not just limiting ourselves to lighting control anymore," said Michael Peterson. Growth, Innovation, and New Horizons

A Visionary Force in Modern Luxury Design For over 40 years, Cantoni has been a trailblazer in the luxury design industry, revolutionizing the way we think about furniture and living spaces. What started as a bold idea by a young entrepreneur in Dallas has evolved into a national brand that defines modern living. Behind Cantoni’s success is a commitment to quality, innovation, and a belief that great design is a way of life. Speaking with Victoria Shrader, VP of Design Direction and Virtual Integration at Cantoni, the company’s story comes alive with a sense of passion and purpose. "Cantoni was founded by our CEO, Michael Wilkov, in 1984," Shrader begins. "He had just immigrated from South Africa and, after visiting Italy, fell in love with their culture and furniture. He realized that there was a gap in the Texas market for contemporary design, which at the time was dominated by traditional dark woods. At just 26, he took a risk and opened the first Cantoni showroom in Dallas, and it really took off from there." The Cantoni Philosophy: Design as a Way of Life
23
From the beginning, Cantoni was more than just a furniture store—it was a design movement. The company’s tagline, “great design is a way of life”, reflects the philosophy that has guided Cantoni since its inception. "Michael was one of the first to hire design consultants instead of salespeople," Shrader explains. "The focus has always been on the design, not just the sale." This design-first approach is evident in every Cantoni showroom, where clients are surrounded by carefully curated spaces that reflect the company’s passion for aesthetics and function. "We partner with the best in the industry—vendors who innovate and bring beauty to every space," says Shrader.
“Whether it's a 60,000-square-foot flagship store or a more intimate space, when you walk into a Cantoni showroom, you're aware that we focus on the environment people live in." Innovation and Curated Collections: Staying Ahead of the Curve In an industry where trends come and go, Cantoni has always managed to stay ahead of the curve by partnering with top designers and brands from around the world.
24
"We’ve built relationships with factories in Italy, Europe, and the U.S. over the past 40 years, and that allows us to offer something unique," Shrader shares. "Most of our competitors offer fixed products, but we have the ability to create custom pieces for our clients. That’s where we really shine." Cantoni’s team of buyers, many of whom have been with the company since the early years, play a crucial role in curating these collections. "Our buyers have been with us for so long, and they know how to ensure that what we offer is the best of the best— unique, yet attainable," she explains. "We want our furniture to be beautiful, functional, and something our clients will want to have forever."
Milestones of Growth: From Showrooms to Virtual Studios
From its humble beginnings as a 4,500- square-foot showroom, Cantoni has expanded into a design powerhouse with 9 brick-and-mortar locations, a virtual studio, two Natuzzi Italia and one American Leather showroom. However, one of the most innovative steps in the company’s evolution has been the launch of virtual showrooms. "Our newest venture is our virtual studios," Shrader says. "We’ve recognized that shopping behaviors have changed. People don’t always want to travel to a showroom, and with the rise of online shopping, we saw an opportunity to serve clients where they are."
25
This new concept allows Cantoni to bring its design ethos to clients in cities that don’t have a physical showroom. "People want something that feels curated and unique to their lifestyle," she adds. "With our virtual studios, they still get a personalized designer who will come to their home, bring finishes and fabrics, and create a 3D design for them. It’s a way to offer the same high-touch service without needing a physical location." Two of the 10 Cantoni showrooms are exclusively To The Trade, offering a specialized experience for professionals in the industry. Additionally, Cantoni operates with over 145 vendors and has a 150,000- square-foot distribution center in Dallas.
VICTORIA SHRADER, VP OF DESIGN
which sports ready-to-ship inventory, ensuring that customers and trade partners alike have access to premium products when they need them. Design Partnerships and a Focus on Trade Relationships While Cantoni is known for its luxury showrooms and consumer-facing design services, the company has also cultivated strong relationships within the design trade.
"We’ve always been mindful of supporting our trade partners," Shrader explains.
26
27
28
"We offer services in our showrooms, but we realize that the trade plays a huge role in the future of our industry. Architects, designers, and builders are a big backbone of our company’s success." Cantoni takes great care to ensure that their trade partners feel valued. "We’ve created programs that are exclusive to them," Shrader says. "We understand that their timelines are important, and we prioritize them, whether it’s getting specifications, quotes, or samples. It’s about being responsive and supporting them as they work with their clients." The company has also launched a new series called Behind the Curtain, which highlights the work of their trade partners. "We create these beautiful videos that show their story, their design process, and their work as artisans," she shares. "We want to celebrate them, not compete with them." Challenges and Opportunities: Adapting to a Post- COVID World Like many in the luxury industry, Cantoni faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the retail space. "Luxury is often the first to go when people are in survival mode," Shrader reflects. "We definitely felt that pinch." However, Cantoni’s ability to adapt has been key to weathering the storm. "COVID changed shopping behaviors. People are more comfortable sourcing online, and they don’t necessarily need to see or touch the product.
29
That’s why our virtual studios have been so successful. We still provide that person-to-person connection, but in a way that meets the needs of today’s clients." Cantoni has also made significant investments in technology to enhance the client experience. "We adopted new 3D design software that allows our clients to really visualize their spaces," Shrader says. "It’s a big deal for us because we want to make sure our clients are confident in what the final result will look like." Expanding into New Markets and Projects As Cantoni looks to the future, the focus is on expanding into new markets and building on the company’s strengths. "We’re expanding into virtual territory, but we’re also positioning ourselves to be more competitive with larger projects— hospitality, high-rises, and working more closely with builders and contractors," Shrader says. "We’ve done a lot of these projects before, but now we’re putting more focus on them." Cantoni is also exploring new ways to engage with designers and clients through smaller resource rooms in key markets. "We’re planning to open resource rooms where designers can come in, see finishes, and meet with clients," she explains.
30
A Legacy of Innovation and Design
At its core, Cantoni remains true to the vision Michael Wilkov had when he founded the company in 1984—bringing great design to life. Through innovation, strong partnerships, and a relentless focus on quality, Cantoni has built a legacy that continues to shape the world of modern luxury design. As Shrader puts it, "We’ve been doing this for 40 years, and we’ve learned a lot. But we’re not done. We’re always thinking about what’s next, how we can keep pushing boundaries and offering something truly unique to our clients. That’s the heart of Cantoni." Powering Growth with Integrity and Innovation What started as a small electrical service focused on boat dock wiring has evolved into something much bigger. By 2017, the boat dock electrical segment had expanded so rapidly that Brian Reynolds founded a separate company dedicated to this niche. After experiencing remarkable success, he sold the venture to focus on his true passion: high-end luxury electrical work. This led to the formation of Reynolds & Co. Electrical Solutions, a company that now thrives on delivering excellence and quality, maintaining the values that helped it grow from the very beginning. l In 2024, Brian Reynolds officially launched Reynolds & Co. Electric with a simple yet powerful mission: to build a business rooted in integrity, quality, and trust. Today, Reynolds has transformed his small, family-run enterprise into a leading electrical contractor, serving both commercial and residential clients. Despite its growth, Reynolds & Co. remains grounded in its core principles—always prioritizing quality work and lasting relationships. “We started as a local residential business,” Brian Reynolds recalls. “It was just me and a couple of guys handling small projects. From day one, I knew that if we were going to grow, we had to do it the right way. That meant being honest, delivering top-notch work, and always standing by our word.”
35
Wired for Success The journey of Reynolds & Co. Electric is one of steady, organic growth. Initially focused on niche residential projects, the company's reputation quickly spread, leading to larger commercial opportunities. Reynolds remembers the pivotal moment when they began receiving calls for more complex projects. “After a couple of years, we started getting inquiries for bigger projects— commercial builds and industrial work. We knew we had the expertise, and I wasn’t going to shy away from the challenge,” Reynolds shares. “Our clients trusted us, and that trust opened new doors.” Today, Reynolds & Co. Electric handles an impressive range of projects, from home electrical systems to large-scale, high-end commercial installations. Despite this expansion, Reynolds remains actively involved, ensuring each project meets the high standards set from the company's inception. “We’ve grown, but we approach each job with the same attention to detail. That’s what keeps clients coming back,” he says. Commitment to Integrity: A Business Built on Trust For Reynolds, the foundation of his business is not just technical expertise— it’s integrity. “One thing we’ve always been firm on is that if we say we’re going to do something, we do it—and we do it right,” Reynolds explains.
"You can't cut corners with electrical work. It’s not just about aesthetics or speed; it’s about safety and reliability." This commitment to integrity is what sets Reynolds & Co. Electric apart in an industry where mistakes can be costly and dangerous. “We approach every project—big or small— with the same level of care. Our clients rely on us to get it right the first time, and that’s what we deliver,” he emphasizes. This philosophy goes beyond just materials and workmanship; it’s about building strong, enduring relationships. “We don’t just aim to complete a one-off job and never see you again. We build relationships, and that trust is everything to us,” Reynolds adds.
36
“We’ve made it a priority to stay on top of these advancements, whether it's through LED lighting systems or integrating renewable energy sources like solar power.” Reynolds ensures his team remains ahead of the curve by investing in ongoing training and upgrading equipment to handle modern systems. “We want to be the go-to company for innovative solutions. It’s important that we don’t just follow trends but lead them,” he explains.
Trust in Every Connection
At the core of Reynolds & Co. Electric’s success are the relationships it has nurtured—with clients, suppliers, and employees.
The electrical contracting industry has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, driven by technological advancements and the demand for energy- efficient solutions. Reynolds & Co. Electric has embraced these changes, staying at the forefront of emerging trends while continuing to deliver reliable, traditional services. “The industry is evolving quickly, especially with smart technology and energy efficiency taking center stage,” Reynolds notes. Navigating Industry Shifts: Embracing Technology and Innovation
37
Reynolds attributes much of the company’s growth to these long-standing partnerships. “A lot of our business comes from repeat clients or referrals,” Reynolds shares. “We’ve been working with some of our clients for years. They know we’ll always deliver what we promise.” This trust extends beyond just clients. “Our team is a huge part of our success,” Reynolds says. "We’ve had crew members with us for years, and that consistency is key.
In an industry that relies heavily on contractors and suppliers, Reynolds is proud of the strong network he has built. “We trust the people we work with,” he says. “Our suppliers and subcontractors understand our expectations, and that trust allows us to deliver projects efficiently and without compromise.” Challenges and Resilience: Lessons from the Field Like any business, Reynolds & Co. Electric has faced its share of challenges. Reynolds recalls moments when unexpected difficulties arose, but each time, the company adapted and overcame.
They know our standards, and they know how to get the job done right."
38
39
“There have been jobs where things didn’t go as planned, but we’ve always found a way to make it work,” he says. “When challenges arise, communication is key. You have to be upfront with clients and work together to find a solution.” This resilience has solidified Reynolds & Co.'s reputation for reliability. "We’ve learned that it’s not about how you handle the easy jobs, but how you manage the tough ones. That’s where trust is truly built." A Future Focused on Growth and Innovation As Reynolds & Co. Electric approaches its 15-year mark, the company is gearing up for expansion, both in services and geographic reach. “We’ve been primarily regional, but we’re starting to take on more projects outside our home base,” Reynolds reveals. “The demand is there, and we have the team and expertise to meet it.” While growth is a priority, Reynolds is clear that expansion will never come at the expense of quality. “We’re always looking to grow, but we’ll do it the right way. For us, that means continuing to deliver the quality and service our clients expect.” Reynolds is also excited about the future of energy-efficient solutions and smart home technology. "The future of this industry lies in energy efficiency and smart technologies, and we’re ready to lead in that space. There’s so much potential, and we’re eager to bring it to our clients."
40
Reynolds & Co. Electric stands out not only for the work they do but for the way they do it. Built on a foundation of integrity, quality, and trust, the company has grown steadily while staying true to its core values. As Brian Reynolds looks to the future, his mission is clear: to continue providing reliable, innovative electrical solutions while maintaining the relationships and values that have fueled the company’s success. “We’re here for the long haul,” Reynolds says. “As we grow, we’ll keep doing things the right way—because that’s what got us here in the first place.” Powering the Future with Values That Endure
"We’ve learned that it’s not about how you handle the easy jobs, but how you manage the tough ones. That’s where trust is truly built."

From Concept t
t to Creation
Founded in May 2018, CAP Fabrication has quickly made its mark in the architectural millwork and custom fabrication industry. What began as a partnership between Christopher Wawroski and a colleague under the name "Custom Architectural Products" has since grown into a company renowned for its craftsmanship, innovative design, and ability to handle complex, high-end projects. From navigating a challenging beginning to embracing an ambitious vision for the future, CAP Fabrication stands as a testament to perseverance, adaptability, and dedication to quality. A Story of Resilience, Craftsmanship, and a Vision for the Future From Adversity to Opportunity Christopher Wawroski, now the sole owner and operating manager of CAP Fabrication, launched the company under unexpected and difficult circumstances. "Its formation was purely out of self- preservation and the need to create my own destiny," Christopher shared, reflecting on how he was driven to start the company after his former employers altered his commission structure, making it nearly impossible for him to reach his goals.
"For my partner, it was an opportunity to go into business for himself and provide for his young family." However, as is the case with many business partnerships, things didn’t go as planned. The partnership dissolved after just seven months, leaving Christopher to shoulder the company’s future on his own. "It was abrupt, unexpected, and somewhat messy," Christopher explained. . He bought out his partner and found himself in charge of CAP Fabrication’s survival, finishing two ongoing projects and navigating the future of the business solo. The years that followed were some of the hardest of Christopher’s life. "I worked 14- hour days, seven days a week, and took almost no time off—not even holidays or my birthday," he recalled.
44
"Success for me is proving to myself that I could build CAP Fabrication from the ground up and make it a well-respected manufacturer of quality architectural millwork and products," he said. This ethos of hard work and dedication runs through every aspect of the company. Christopher places a great deal of emphasis on the importance of a well- trained, skilled workforce. "The quality of the final product is only as good as the people building it," he explained. That’s why CAP Fabrication’s hiring process is rigorous, ensuring that only highly qualified individuals join the team. "Many people want to work for us, but only the most qualified and experienced do." In addition to his skilled workforce, Christopher gives credit to key team members like Laura Justiniano, the head of estimating and sales, who ensures that projects remain on budget and within scope. "She is incredibly thorough and knowledgeable of current pricing from our suppliers and is a master of value engineering," he noted.
During this time, he also took on a part-time job to make ends meet. But for Christopher, failure was not an option. "I knew that I had the ability to keep CAP going and needed to prove to myself that with hard work and commitment, I could build a successful company." A Focus on Craftsmanship and People: The Foundation of Success For Christopher, CAP Fabrication's success is measured not in material possessions or industry accolades, but in the quality of the work and the people behind it.

Cristina Rivera, the Assistant Operating Manager, plays a crucial role in recruitment and in keeping the business running smoothly. And Christopher doesn’t forget those who helped shape the company’s early days. He credits Hector Rodriguez, the former production manager who suffered a major stroke in May 2022, for establishing many of the processes and construction methods that CAP continues to use. "Hector got our quality to where it is today, and we still use the processes he implemented." Building Big: Luxury Hotel Projects and More
While CAP Fabrication started with a focus on manufacturing architectural components for other companies, the business has since evolved to specialize in interior finishes and millwork for luxury hotels. The company’s portfolio includes some of the most prestigious names in the hospitality industry: The St. Regis Resort in Aspen, CO The Ritz Carlton in Las Colinas, Irving, TX The JW Marriott in the Dallas Arts District Crown Plaza Hotels in Guam and Saipan "Luxury hotel projects are a beast," Christopher said, acknowledging the challenges that come with such high-profile projects. "The designs are often complex and incomplete when the project begins, on-site delays are common, and material selections can be costly and difficult to procure."

But for CAP Fabrication, the complexity of these projects is what keeps things exciting. "We do hotel projects because they’re challenging and never repetitive. The designs can be difficult to engineer, and the schedules are often compressed. We’re constantly learning and evolving as a team and as a company." In addition to luxury hotel projects, CAP Fabrication also tackles smaller projects to ensure steady cash flow and keep the business balanced. Recent projects include The Porch Restaurant in Dallas, Carbone’s Italian Restaurant, and AutoNation in Plano.
Challenges, Adaptability, and a Vision for the Future "Diversity has become essential, especially with the volatility in the market over the past few years." "We fill in the gaps with smaller projects like restaurants, retail stores, and wellness centers," Christopher explained.

This transparency not only builds trust but also demonstrates the company's commitment to excellence. Growth and Expansion The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. In 2020, just as the company was investing in a new showroom and exterior renovations, CAP was forced out of its building when the property was sold. They found themselves in the same situation again in April 2023, when their lease renewal rate more than doubled, forcing another relocation. "The upside is that we now have a front retail space on a busy street, which we’re renovating to be very visible from the road," Christopher said, looking for the silver lining. This new location plays a key role in CAP’s five-year plan, which includes expanding its residential business and launching an online store. "It’s been a long-time goal of mine to get CAP Fabrication back to its original concept of manufacturing custom architectural products," Christopher shared. The company is also awaiting the arrival of new CNC equipment, which will help boost production capacity and efficiency. CAP Fabrication’s adaptability is what has allowed the company to thrive despite the challenges. "We are a small company that does large projects, but diversifying and being adaptive are necessary for us to grow in an economic downturn," Christopher noted. Giving Back to the Community
Beyond CAP’s commitment to quality craftsmanship, the company is deeply invested in giving back to the community. In 2023, CAP Fabrication used leftover materials to build two custom baby nursery sets, which were donated to two young expecting mothers. The team also collected toys, clothing, and diapers for the families. "We try to give back to our local community as much as possible," Christopher said. Environmental responsibility is also important to Christopher, who implemented a recycling program at CAP’s facility to minimize waste. "It took over two years to get my team to consistently use the recycling bins, but now they do it on their own," he shared. CAP also reuses shipping materials whenever possible, cutting down on costs and waste.

"We are constantly learning and evolving as a team and as a company," Christopher said, reflecting on the company’s journey. "I’ve always believed in the power of hard work and commitment, and that’s what’s driven us forward." From its humble beginnings to its ambitious future, CAP Fabrication has become a beacon of resilience, craftsmanship, and ingenuity in the architectural millwork industry. As Christopher continues to steer the company toward new opportunities, CAP Fabrication remains a leader in delivering high-quality, custom solutions for clients across the country and around the world.
Looking ahead, Christopher is working on a prototype to filter ambient air in manufacturing facilities and construction sites to improve safety. "The dust collector only removes the visible pieces of cut materials, but not the very fine dust that you can’t see," he explained. Partnering with an organization, Christopher hopes to develop a system that eliminates harmful micro-dust without the need for substrate filters. With a new retail space, a growing portfolio of prestigious projects, and innovative ideas on the horizon, CAP Fabrication is poised for continued success.

Transforming Spaces with Custom Glass Solutions
For FGD Glass Solutions, the art of creating architectural glass goes far beyond function. It's a blend of craftsmanship, passion, and vision. Founded in 1984 as On-Site Systems, the company began by offering a unique service: mobile glass etching during business hours without disrupting daily operations. Today, that small, innovative venture has grown into FGD Glass Solutions, a leader in the decorative and architectural glass industry, trusted for its ability to combine artistry with cutting-edge solutions. John Rose, Marketing Director at FGD Glass, reveals that the company’s journey began with a simple idea: to meet the demand for high-quality, on-site etched glass. "It was revolutionary back in the ‘80s," Rose recalls. "We could go into a high-rise building, etch room numbers on door plates while the company was still open, and not cause a disturbance." This innovative spirit fueled the company’s early success and laid the foundation for the wide-ranging services FGD Glass Solutions now offers. From Etching to Architectural Mastery: Expanding Horizons The company quickly expanded beyond etching, evolving in response to customer demand. "We were known for etching glass, but customers started asking us to do more—laminating, back-painting, digitally printing. It all grew from there," Rose explains.

The ability to pivot and grow based on client needs is a hallmark of FGD’s success. Today, the company provides a vast array of products, from shower doors and barn doors to custom glass creations for commercial spaces. Scott Hoover, VP of Sales, emphasizes the breadth of what FGD Glass offers. "We have a wide range of products. You might find a competitor who does one thing well, but we do it all—etching, laminating, printing, even antique mirrors. That’s what sets us apart." This comprehensive approach allows FGD to serve a diverse range of clients, from corporate offices and hotels to high-profile public spaces. The Artisan Touch: A
Commitment to Craftsmanship
What truly distinguishes FGD Glass isn’t just the products themselves, but the way they’re made. "Everything that we fabricate is done by hand," Rose says proudly. "We don’t just call our workers ‘laborers’—we call them ‘artisans.’" This respect for the craft runs deep within the company’s culture. Each piece of glass is meticulously handled, inspected, and shaped by skilled individuals who take pride in their work. Rose points out that many of FGD’s employees are artists in their own right, contributing not only to the fabrication but also to the design of FGD’s exclusive products. "The person who operates our printer actually came up with our entire line of Moray glass patterns," he shares.

In an industry driven by cost and efficiency, FGD Glass thrives by focusing on something more personal: relationships. "Show up," Rose says, when asked how the company has managed to maintain long-standing partnerships. "Every time, show up, be present, and attend to their needs. That’s what builds loyalty." This simple philosophy has turned FGD into a trusted partner for many high-profile clients, including Fortune 500 companies and well-known architectural firms. Scott Hoover echoes this sentiment, adding that the company’s size allows it to maintain a personal touch that larger competitors often lack. "We’re under 50 employees, so when clients call, they’re talking to someone they know. There’s no turnover, no passing the buck. We build relationships with our clients, and they call us directly for their next project because they trust us," Hoover explains. FGD’s clients often stay with the company even as they move to new roles or firms. "People who’ve worked with us move companies, and they keep bringing us with them," Rose says. "It’s not just business— it’s personal. They know we’ll be there for them, no matter what." Relationships Built to Last: The Power of Showing Up Solving Complex Problems: Innovation Meets Flexibility
One of the reasons FGD Glass is a go-to solutions provider is its ability to think creatively and solve complex design challenges. "We often get calls from architects or designers who don’t know if what they want can even be done," Hoover says. "That’s where we excel. We figure out how to make it happen." This problem-solving ability has led to some of FGD’s most interesting projects, including creating etched metal signs for the US- Canadian border crossing and working on decorative glass for the College Football Hall of Fame. "We’ve done everything from laminated glass to metal etching for some of the most iconic spaces," Rose shares.

FGD’s drive to innovate is coupled with a deep sense of responsibility—to its clients, to its employees, and to the art of glassmaking itself. "We never want to be the company that says, ‘We can’t do that,’" Rose emphasizes. "We want our clients to know that if they can dream it, we can make it." A Legacy of Excellence in Every Pane FGD Glass Solution’s story is one of relentless innovation, unmatched craftsmanship, and a deep commitment to its clients. What started as a small, revolutionary glass etching service has grown into a leading name in architectural glass, trusted by some of the world’s biggest companies to deliver not just products, but solutions. With every piece of glass they create, FGD Glass brings together tradition and innovation, artistry and precision. And as they continue to expand their reach, one thing remains clear: FGD Glass isn’t just shaping glass—they’re shaping the future of architectural design. As John Rose puts it, "We don’t just make glass. We make art, and we make it for people who appreciate that."
The world of Coca-Cola, the Army and Navy service agencies, and even custom work for hotels are just a few examples of the diverse projects FGD has tackled with their artisan touch. And it’s not just about large-scale projects. FGD’s flexibility allows them to take on custom work of any size, from a single bespoke glass panel for a small business to thousands of identical glass units for a major hotel chain. "We can handle everything from one-off pieces to large corporate orders," Rose says. "That’s one of the things our clients love about us. We can scale up or down depending on their needs."
