Da bi se stari podsetili, a mladi osetili miris pleve pod vršalicom, treću godinu zaredom u selu Kolubarski Leskovac 25. avgusta organizovana je Moba za nezaborav . Ova manifestacija vratila nas je pola veka unatrag i pokazala nam kako se vršidba obavljala starim mašinama i oruđem. One of the most difficult field jobs used to be threshing, separating the grains of cereals from straw. In order to remind the elderly and for youngsters to feel the scent of chaff under the threshing machine, the village of Kolubarski Leksovac will organise an unforgettable Mob for the third consecutive year on 25 th August. This event taks us back half a century and shows us how threshing was done using antiquated machines and tools.

Ivan Medenica studirao je filozofiju na Filozofskom fakultetu i dramaturgiju na Fakultetu dramskih umetnosti, gde je i diplomirao, a zatim magistrirao i doktorirao. Vanredni je profesor, bio je selektor i umetnički direktor Sterijinog pozorja , ali nam se u ovom broju predstavlja kao umetnički direktor i selektor Bitefa koji piše o 52. izdanju festivala. Ivan Medenica studied philosophy and dramatic composition. At the Faculty of Dramatic Arts he graduated and then earned his masters’ and doctoral degrees. He is an associate professor and has been a selector and art director of the Sterijino Pozorje Festival, but for this issue he presents himself to us as the artistic director and selector of Bitef and writes about the 52 nd edition of this festival.
Nevena Dimitrijević se oprobala u raznim formama, ali najviše uživa u otkrivanju skrivenih mesta i divnih ljudi u Srbiji. Zato ne čudi što je reportaža njen prvi izbor, a zanimljive ljudske priče su ono što je ispunjava i motiviše. U ovom broju razgovarala je sa veoma neobičnom ženom, fotografom iz Jerusalima Gali Tibon. Nevena Dimitrijević has tried her hand in various forms, but she most enjoys revealing the hidden places and wonderful people of Serbia. It is thus no surprise that features are her first choice, and human-interest stories are what fulfil and motivate her. For this issue she spoke with an unusual woman – Jerusalem- born photographer Gali Tibbon.

Ana Kalaba is editor of the culture section of portal NOIZZ. rs. Having worked in journalism for almost 15 years, she has been in rock ‘n’ roll, the art world and Belgrade stories for a lot longer. She has been following the rhythm of the town since the start of her cooperation with Elevate, and for this issue she presents major grape harvests and some of Belgrade’s most beautiful love stories.

London Park and walk campaign The City of London authorities have invited residents of the British capital to wear comfortable shoes for walking, because they want to turn London into a city where people mostly walk. This is just the first campaign that forms part of a broader strategy that aims to ensure walking, cycling and public transport represent 80 per cent of the city’s urban movements by 2041. Behind the plan is the office of Mayor Sadiq Khan, while the goal is to improve health and reduce pollution in this city of 8.8 million people by making the streets more suitable for pedestrians. Studies have shown that almost 9,500 people die prematurely in London annually due to extended exposure to air pollution.
Gradske vlasti u Londonu pozvale su stanovnike britanske prestonice da obuju udobne cipele za hodanje jer žele da od Londona naprave grad u kojem se najviše hoda. To je samo prva akcija i deo šire strategije, po kojoj bi hodanje, vožnja biciklom i javnim prevozom do 2041. godine predstavljala 80 odsto kretanja ovim gradom. Iza plana stoji kancelarija Sadika Kana, gradonačelnika Londona, a cilj je da se unapredi zdravlje i smanji zagađenje u gradu u kojem živi 8,8 miliona ljudi, tako što će ulice postati prikladnije za pešake. Istraživanja su pokazala da godišnje gotovo 9.500 stanovnika Londona preuranjeno umre usled dugotrajne izloženosti zagađenom vazduhu.

Ljubljana Nova tura u čast žena Posetiocima Ljubljane odnedavno je dostupna nova tura, koja istoriju, kulturu i društvene prilike grada prikazuje iz sasvim novog ugla, to jest kroz priče o njegovim istaknutim umetnicama, političarkama i arhitektama. Tura duga dva i po kilometra počinje svakog dana u 18 časova i otkriva da je samo dva odsto ljubljanskih spomenika podignuto u čast žena, dok su ulice koje nose njihova imena često zabačene i slepe. U okviru ture obilaze se Stari grad, Prešernov trg, Trg republike i Nacionalna i Univerzitetska biblioteka.

Brisel 60. rođendan Štrumpfova Ove godine mali plavi likovi iz čuvenog crtaća Štrumpfovi pune 60 godina i u njihovu čast je u hali Brisel ekspo-centra otvoreno pravo štrumpfovsko selo. Atrakcija nazvana The Smurf Experience posetiocima nudi jedinstvenu priliku da urone u magični svet simpatičnih šumskih stvorenja. Tako ljubitelji ovog crtaća mogu da obiđu selo sa pečurkama ljudske veličine u obliku kućica i krenu u virtuelni obilazak šume dok traje borba protiv Gargamela. Selo je za posetioce otvoreno do kraja januara naredne godine, a organizatori se nadaju da će u narednih pet godina ovu atrakciju postaviti u još nekim evropskim zemljama.
Brussels Smurfs’ 60 th birthday The little blue characters from the famous Smurf cartoons turn 60 this year, and in their honour a genuine Smurf village has been opened in the hall of the Brussels Expo Centre. The Smurf Experience attraction provides visitors with a unique opportunity to dive into the magical world of these lovable forest creatures. As such, lovers of this cartoon can tour the village with human-sized mushrooms in the shape of cottages and embark on a virtual tour of the forest while the battle against Gargamel continues. The village will be open to visitors until the end of January next year, while organisers hope to take this attraction to some other European countries over the next five years.

Seventh Puppetry Festival
Vienna World’s top city for quality of life The annual rankings list of renowned British magazine The Economist has seen Vienna dethrone the Australian city of Melbourne as the world’s best city to live in for the first time in seven years. The Economist Intelligence Unit Global Survey compared 140 cities based on factors such as political stability, social security, access to health services and education. Vienna has held a solid second place in all previous years, only to finally outdo Melbourne this year. he 7th International Festival of Puppetry will be held within the scope of the Podgorica Summer of Culture Festival in the Montenegrin capital from 12 th to 16 th September. Participation in this event, which has a competitive character, has been announced by puppet theatres from five countries: Poland, Macedonia, Turkey, Serbia and Ukraine, as well as from the host country. Awards will be decided by an international jury of experts and, as in previous years, entrance to all elements of the Festival will be free of charge.

Prague “Il Divo” ready for a spectacle
The popular “Il Divo” international quartet will make a guest performance at the Prague Congress Centre on 12 th September, as part of its “Timeless” world tour, named after the quartet’s latest album. This fantastic foursome, which has fused classical music with pop sounds, began its current tour in Mexico City back in April. The new album celebrates 15 years of the existence of this quartet, which still comprises its original members: Carlos Marin, Urs Buhler, Sebastien Izambard and David Miller. They have already sold 30 million discs, and in 2006 were included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most commercially successful band performing classical music, which remains a label that they carry today.

Kao čovek koji mnogo putuje i koristi razne avio-kompani- je, LaKuan kaže da je bio prezadovo- ljan ponudom i uslugom Er Srbije , a da je naročito bio odušeljen kabin- skim osobljem, koje mu je let učini- lo veoma udobnim. – Er Srbija ima veoma elegantne i šik zaposlene, veoma mi se, zapra- vo, dopao način i kriterijum na osno- vu kojih se biraju ljudi. To nije samo posao, to nije samo lep izgled, to je pre svega stav koji govori o tome šta Er Srbija predstavlja. Zaista sam ve- oma zadovoljan, prvi put sam leteo Er Srbijom i bilo mi je baš udobno. Kažete da je osoblje „Er Srbi- je“ veoma elegantno... Šta mi- slite o ženama u Srbiji, da li se može reći da prate svetske modne trendove? – Bio sam u Srbiji samo dva puta i nisam siguran da sam sasvim kom- petentan da procenjujem, ali ono što sa sigurnošću mogu da tvrdim jeste da vaše dame vole da se lepo oblače. Postoji tržište za luksuzne proizvode i to je primetno. Divim se eleganciji žena u Srbiji, a pre svega činjenici da su veoma šik. Onako, njujorški šik!

Kompanija koju sam osnovao i modna linija koju promovišem slavi žene, slavi život, slavi iden- titet i sve ono što znači biti lep i seksi. Želim žene koje su autentične, koje se nikome ni zbog čega ne izvinjava- ju. Kreativni proces je veoma intiman, a žene koje obla- čim to i reflektuju. Kad smo kod žena koje oblačite, spisak je zaista im- presivan. To su najveća imena svetskog šou-biznisa? – Da, radio sam sa Serenom i Rijanom, oblačio Bijonse,

Te divne žene u mojim kreacija- ma izvlače emocije napolje i kažu – evo kako izgleda biti apsolutno seksi! Za vas moda nije samo posao već način života. He arrived via business class with Air Serbia from New York, only for his journey to take him onwards to Porto Montenegro, where he presented his Autumn/Winter 2018 col- lection. A market for luxury products exists and that’s noticeable. I ad- mire the elegance of women in Serbia, and above all the fact that they are very chic; like, New York chic! You’re famous for promoting your designs with sexy women who aren’t ashamed of themselves... - I’m from New York, and what I do is de- sign clothes for the modern woman who isn’t ashamed of being totally and openly sexy. I promote celebrate women, celebrate life, celebrate identity and everything it means to be beautiful and sexy. I want women who are authentic, who do not apologise to any- one for anything. The creative process is very intimate, and the women I dress reflect that. While we’re talking about the women you dress, that list is truly impressive. – Zavisi od toga da li putujem sama ili sa de- com. Ako sam sa decom, onda obavezno nosim razne flašice za njih. Kada putujem sama, onda nosim neku knjigu, to je retka prilika da mogu na miru da uživam u či- tanju. Desilo mi se nekoliko puta da sam zaboravila da ponesem knjigu, što je bez- veze kad su duga putovanja u pitanju. On- da čitam Elevejt , naučim ga napamet.
WHAT DO YOU ALWAYS CARRY WITH YOU ABOARD A PLANE?
That depends on whether I’m travelling alone or with my children. If I’m with my children, then its mandatory for me to carry various little bottles for them. It happened a few times that I forgot to carry a book, which is no good when it comes to long journeys. Then I read Ele- vate and learn it by heart. Po statisti- ci, avioni su najsigurnije prevozno sredstvo, što mi mnogo znači otkad sam dobila decu. To mi je omiljeno prevozno sredstvo, prvo zbog sigurnosti, a zatim zato što je to naj- komfornije za klince. WHY DO YOU LOVE PLANES? I love them because they carry us closer to dreams. You are a step away from a desired destination without heat, crowds and bouncing around. Statistically, aeroplanes rep- resent the safest means of transport, which has meant a lot to me since the birth of my children. It’s my favourite means of transport primarily due to the level of safety, and then because it’s the most comfortable for kids. – Definitivno mi je najdraže putovanje na Island. To je najlepša zemlja na svetu, kao stvorena za mene. Prele- pi krajolici, izgleda nestvarno, kao neka scenografija, ne možeš da veruješ da je to prirodno. Ogromna zemlja, ve- liko prostranstvo s veoma malo ljudi koji tamo žive, tako da si često sam na putu. Ta me je zemlja bukvalo odu- vala! Uvek bih se vratila na Island. Kad budem u penzi- ji, ako budem mogla sebi to da priuštim zbog njihovog standarda, volela bih da tamo živim. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION? My most beloved trip was certainly to Iceland. That’s the most beautiful land in the world, as though it was created for me. Beautiful landscapes with an unreal appearance, like some set design; you can’t believe it’s natural. A huge land, vast spaces with very few people who live there, so you’re often alone on the road. That country literally blew me away! I would always return to Iceland. 2CELLOS NA KALEMEGDANU 8. SEPTEMBRA Neverovatni, mladi i već uveli- ko slavni virtuozi na violončeli- ma, Luka Šulić i Stjepan Hauser, svetu poznatiji kao 2CELLOS , po- novo će doći u Beograd 8. sep- tembra 2018. i prirediti koncer- tni spektakl na otvorenom, na Kalemegdanu! U Beograd se vraćaju sa najnovijim albumom Score , koji je snimljen u Engle- skoj s Londonskim simfonijskim orkestrom. Ovog puta momci nam donose i neke nove stilo- ve, ali će, naravno, svirati i svet- ske melodije, kao i klasike na- pisane za savremene filmove i televiziju.
2CELLOS ON KALEMEGDAN, 8 TH SEPTEMBER The amazing, young and already-fa- mous virtuoso cellists Luka Šu- lić and Stjepan Hauser, more com- monly known around the world as 2CELLOS, will again arrive in Bel- grade on 8 th September 2018, whe- re they will stage an open-air con- cert in Kalemegdan fortress park! They return to Belgrade with their latest album,“Score”, which was re- corded in England with the London Symphony Orchestra. This time wi- ll also see these guys bring us some new styles, though they will of cour- se perform global melodies and cla- ssics written for contemporary films and television shows.

NARODNO POZORIŠTE POKLANJA KONCERT Povodom 150 godina od osnivanja Na- rodnog pozorišta u Beogradu, 15. sep- tembra u 19.30 časova, na otvorenom prostoru pored Save, u okviru Beogra - da na vodi , muzički ansambl nacional- nog teatra održaće koncert za pam- ćenje. Program ovog spektakla pod vedrim nebom, u ekskluzivnom ambi- jentu pored reke, sačinjavaće delovi iz operskih dela najznačajnijih svetskih autora. Ovo će biti svojevrsni poklon domaćoj publici, ljubiteljima muzike i svim gostima Beograda koji te večeri dođu na beogradsku obalu Save.
To commemorate the 150 th anniversary of the establishment of the National Theatre in Bel- grade, an unforgettable free concert of the musical ensemble of the National Theatre wi- ll be held on 15 th September at 7.30pm, in the open space beside the River Sava within the Belgrade Waterfront complex. The program- me of this open-air spectacle in an exclusive riverside ambience will comprise sections of the works of the world’s most significant aut- hors. This event will represent a kind of gift to the local public, music lovers and all guests of Belgrade visiting the bank of the Sava during that evening.
BALKAN TUBE FEST u Beogradu Balkan Tube Fest je festival posvećen fanovima Ju - tjub kulture i najpopularnijim jutjuberima na ovim prostorima. BTF predstavlja direktan susret Jutjub zvezda sa ovih prostora i njihovih fanova, kao i svo- jevrsnu reviju najboljih klipova u protekloj sezoni. BTF će biti održan 29. i 30. septembra u prostorijama Kombank dvorane na Trgu Nikole Pašića, u samom centru Beograda.
BALKAN TUBE FEST IN BELGRADE!! The Balkan Tube Fest is a festival devoted to fans of YouTube culture and the most popular Youtubers in this region. The Yo- uTube community has been growing exponentially in recent years, while the popularity enjoyed by some authors measu- res in the hundreds of thousands of subscribers. BTF will be held on 29 th and 30 th September in the premises of the Kom- bank Hall on Nikola Pašić Square, in the very centre of down- town Belgrade.
