ABOUT GROWTH COACHING INTERNATIONAL

HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE

The GCI story began in the first years of the 21st Century when executive coaching was in its infancy. From humble beginnings in 2002, as a small Aus - tralian team with a shared conviction that coaching could transform education communities, GCI has grown into a globally impactful organisation and recognised leader in our field. Today our team of professionals deliver coaching, training and consultancy across four continents, in government and independent schools, early childhood and tertiary settings, and with a growing number of corporate clients seeking our expertise in adult learning and development. Our purpose is to enhance the quality of conversations in organisations. We believe that when everyone communicates well — with curi- osity, empathy and genuine intent — learning, motivation and wellbeing increase. Coaching, and a coaching approach to working and leading, is the most powerful vehicle we know to make that happen. We are proud to be a mature, established provider with a proven track record. Our course evaluations, coach feedback and participant testimonials consistently point to significant positive impact, not only on professional practice, but on the personal lives of those we work with. There is now a substantial and growing body of empirical research supporting the effectiveness of coaching, and our work is firmly grounded in it. Our values shape everything we do: we seek to be collaborative, research-informed and practitioner-fo - cused, generous, impactful, practical, empathetic and positive.

This guide is organised into sections that reflect the different dimensions of GCI’s work . Whether you are an individual looking to develop your coaching skills, a leader building team or whole-staff capacity, or a system leader designing a whole-organisation development pathway, you will find options relevant to your context. Section 1: Coach Accreditation and Development details our flagship Coaching Accreditation Program and a range of options for developing and sustaining your coaching practice. Section 2: Leadership Development brings together our programs that develop the skills and dispositions that underpin a coaching way of leading across a range of contexts. Section 3: Enhancing Instructional Practice introduces a range of programs focused on Instructional Coaching and Peer Coaching as collaborative approaches to strengthening classroom practice. Section 4: Whole-School Professional Development includes programs designed to extend the application of coaching skills beyond leadership teams, to teachers, support staff and students. Section 5: Coaching Services outlines the individual and team coaching, profiling and facilitation services available from our experienced, credentialed coaches. Section 6: Consultancy and Conferences outlines ways that we can provide tailored consultancy and strategic planning support as well as the conference presentations and workshops our team can deliver.

If you are unsure where to begin, we are here to talk. Our team is always happy to help you identify the entry point that best fits your needs and aspirations.

mentoring and coaching, develop the conversational stances that best support mentee growth and expand your capacity to share expertise in ways that build initiative and responsibility rather than dependence. What You Will Gain: • A clear understanding of high-quality mentoring and how it differs from, and connects to, coaching • Practical conversational skills and frameworks to support and challenge the growth of mentees • The confidence to share knowledge and expertise in ways that empower rather than direct • Enhanced capacity to support succession planning, teacher induction and leadership development in your school

Move beyond telling and become the mentor your colleagues and mentees deserve.

Mentoring is one of the most valued forms of professional support in education, and one of the most commonly misunderstood. Too often it defaults to advice-giving and direction, leaving mentees dependent rather than empowered. High-quality mentoring requires something different: the skill to draw on experience and expertise while keeping the mentee at the centre of every conversation. Drawing on the three elements of effective mentoring and coaching, Essential Skills for Mentors equips mentors and leaders with the skills, knowledge and strategies to develop and empower their mentees. Peer Coaching addresses this challenge by equipping all teaching staff with the coaching skills and structures to work collaboratively with one another, making the benefits of coaching accessible to everyone, not just a few. This course introduces a reciprocal cycle of peer coaching conversations grounded in the principles of partnership and trust. Classroom video is used as a powerful, non-evaluative tool to help teachers build a clear picture of their practice, set student-centred goals and monitor progress together. The result is a school-wide professional learning culture that is rigorous, collaborative and sustainable. The course follows a hybrid delivery model across four modules. 1-1 Leadership Coaching A dedicated space to think clearly, lead confidently and move forward on what matters most. One-to-one coaching is one of the most pow- erful and time-efficient forms of professional learning available to educators and leaders. It is personalised, confidential, flexibly sched - uled and immediately focused on what mat- ters most to you, whether that is navigating a complex leadership challenge, preparing for a critical moment or simply creating the space to think more clearly about where you are headed. Working with a GCI accredited coach, you choose the focus. Your coach provides an im- partial, non-judgemental perspective, asks the questions that help you reach greater clarity, and supports you to identify and act on your next steps. Follow-up sessions provide the accountability to ensure that clarity becomes action.

Coaching is available in flexible blocks of hours to suit your needs and goals. A focused block of two hours across two or three sessions can provide targeted sup- port for a specific challenge or decision. Longer blocks of up to six hours enable the deeper, more sustained development that a full coaching cycle makes possible. HOW CAN COACHING HELP YOU? Coaching for Criticial Moments: Some- times two or three focused sessions are all you need to move forward on a specific decision, conversation or event: preparing for a difficult meeting, a key interview, an important performance conversation or a strategic change you need to communicate. Coaching for Transitions: Three or four sessions can support you through a significant professional transition: moving into a new role, navigating a shift in priorities or gaining clarity on where you want to take your career.

Coaching for Leadership Development: A longer engagement of four or more sessions provides the space to identify and target areas of leadership growth, and can incorporate the use of a psychometric or feedback tool to deepen self-awareness and inform development. Balcony Conversations: Four or more sessions spread across the school year, one per term for example, provide a sustained space for reflection, support and challenge. Your coach helps you take the balcony view: stepping back from the day-to-day to identify what matters, what needs to change and where to focus your energy. Getting on Top of Things: A few targeted sessions can help you build a more effective personal system, address procrastination on a simmering issue or relieve the pressure of something that has been taking up too much mental space. What You Will Gain • Greater clarity, energy and confidence to move forward on your most important priorities • An impartial, non-judgemental space to think through complex challenges and decisions • Increased self-awareness and interpersonal effectiveness as a leader • The accountability to follow through, and the support to do so

applicable strategies for adapting their approach to bring out the best in each person they lead. GCI can administer DiSC profiles and support your team through a structured process. Each partici- pant receives their personalised profile report and works with a GCI coach in an individual debrief and coaching session to explore their results, develop self-awareness and identify strategies for growth. A half or full-day facilitated team debrief then takes the team from individual awareness to shared understanding to practical strategies for working more effectively together, exploring each other’s styles, discussing what each person needs to thrive and leaving with a shared language for navigating differences.

Growing Effective Teams with the DiSC Profile Understand yourself, understand others and build a team that works better together. Everything DiSC is one of the world’s most widely used and trusted workplace profiling tools. Based on decades of research and published by Wiley, it helps individuals and teams develop a practical understanding of their own behavioural style and those of the people around them, building the self-awareness, empathy and communication skills that underpin effective professional relationships. GCI coaches are accredited to administer and de- brief the Everything DiSC suite. We most commonly work with two profiles in educational settings. The DiSC Workplace Profile helps all staff, regard - less of role or level, understand their own prior- ities, preferences and tendencies, recognise the different styles of colleagues and develop strate - gies for more effective working relationships. The result is greater empathy, stronger communication and a more cohesive team culture. The DiSC Management Profile is designed specifically for leaders and managers. It explores how your DiSC style shapes the way you direct and delegate, motivate others, develop your team and manage up. Leaders gain practical, immediately

360-degree feedback tools provide something that self-reflection alone cannot: a clear picture of what it is like to be on the other side of you as a leader. Used well, they surface confirmed strengths, hidden blind spots and patterns that are difficult to see from the inside, and create the conditions for genuine growth. GCI coaches are accredited to administer and debrief a range of leading 360 and psychometric tools. Two we commonly use with educators and leaders are the Genos Emotionally Intelligent Leadership Assessment , which measures how well leaders demonstrate emotionally intelligent behaviours across six key competencies against global benchmarks; and the Life Styles Inventory (LSI) by Human Synergis- tics , one of the most established self-develop - ment assessments available, which examines the thinking and behavioural styles that shape a leader’s effectiveness, relationships and wellbeing. Seek meaningful feedback, build honest self-awareness and turn insight into action. 360 Feedback Tools and Coaching

What all these tools share is that the real value lies not in the report itself, but in what happens next. A skilled GCI coach works with you to interpret your results, make sense of the feedback and develop a concrete plan for translating insight into new behaviours and ways of leading. What You Will Gain • Honest, multi-perspective feedback on your leadership that goes beyond your own self-perception • Deeper self-awareness about the thinking, behavioural and emotional patterns shaping your impact • A clear development focus grounded in evidence, not guesswork • Coaching support to translate insights into meaningful, sustainable change in your leadership practice
