BHG Better Connect communication app so you can stay connected with your team.

What is BHG Better Connect?

BHG Better Connect is BHG Financial's enterprise communication platform designed to keep our team connected, informed, and productive. It serves as the central hub for internal messaging, team collaboration, announcements, and real-time communication across the organization.

Open the App Store Tap the blue App Store icon on your iPhone home screen.

Search for the App Tap the Search icon at the bottom right, then type "BHG Better Connect" in the search bar.

Download Tap GET next to the BHG Better Connect app listing. You may be prompted to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password. Wait for Installation The app will download and install automatically. This typically takes less than 60 seconds on a standard Wi-Fi connection. Open the App Tap OPEN when the download completes, or find the BHG Better Connect icon on your home screen.

Open the Google Play Store Tap the Play Store icon on your Android device home screen or app drawer.

Search for the App Tap the search bar at the top of the screen and type "BHG Better Connect".

Install Tap the BHG Better Connect listing, then tap INSTALL. Grant any requested permissions to proceed. Wait for Installation The app will download and install automatically. Ensure you have a stable internet connection.

Launch the App Tap OPEN after installation or find the app in your app drawer to get started.

Visit the Download Portal Open your web browser and navigate to: connect.bhgfinancial.com/download

Select Your Operating System Choose either Windows (.exe installer) or macOS (.dmg file) depending on your computer.

Run the Installer Open the downloaded file. On Windows, click Run; on Mac, open the .dmg and drag the app to your Applications folder. Complete Setup Follow the on-screen setup wizard prompts. Accept the license agreement and choose an installation location. Launch the Application Double-click the BHG Better Connect icon on your desktop or locate it in your applications to open it.

💡 Tip For IT-managed company devices, your IT administrator may have pre-installed BHG Better Connect. Check your desktop or applications folder before downloading. Contact the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@bhgfinancial.com if you need assistance.

SECTION 3 | Setting Up Your Account

First-Time Login & Account Setup

Once you have downloaded and installed the app, follow these steps to set up your BHG Better Connect account.

Launch BHG Better Connect Open the app on your device. You will see the BHG Better Connect welcome screen.

Sign In with Your BHG Credentials Enter your BHG company email address (firstname.lastname@bhgfinancial.com) and your network password. Complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) You will receive a verification code via text message or your authenticator app. Enter the 6- digit code when prompted. Review & Accept Terms Read and accept the BHG Acceptable Use Policy and Communication Guidelines. Tap or click Accept to continue. Set Up Your Profile Upload a professional profile photo, confirm your display name, job title, and department information.

Configure Notifications Choose your notification preferences — you can enable push alerts for direct messages, channel mentions, and announcements. Explore & Connect You are all set! Browse your assigned channels, send your first message, and connect with your team.

Joining Channels & Teams

After logging in, you will be automatically added to your department channel and company-wide announcements. You can also join additional channels:

• Tap or click the + icon in the left sidebar next to Channels • Browse the directory or search by channel name • Select a channel and tap Join to subscribe • You can also be added by a Channel Admin or Manager

BHG Better Connect is an official company communication tool. All interactions are subject to BHG's Code of Conduct and Acceptable Use Policy. Please follow these guidelines when using the platform:

Professional Standards • Maintain a respectful and professional tone in all communications • Use clear, concise language — avoid jargon or ambiguous messages • Do not share confidential client data, PHI, or sensitive financial information via chat • Think before you post — messages are logged and may be reviewed for compliance Effective Communication Tips • Use @mentions to alert specific team members: @firstname or @channel • Use threads to keep conversations organized and reduce channel clutter • Set your status to reflect your availability so colleagues know when you are reachable • Use the correct channel for your message — avoid posting unrelated content • Acknowledge messages with reactions ( 👍 ) to confirm receipt without extra replies

Response Time Expectations • Direct Messages from managers or leadership: respond within 2 business hours • Channel mentions: respond within 4 business hours during business hours

Common Issues & Solutions

Cannot log in

Verify your BHG email and password are correct. Try resetting your password via the SSO portal at portal.bhgfinancial.com. If the issue persists, contact the IT Help Desk. Check notification permissions in your device settings. Go to Settings > Apps > BHG Better Connect > Notifications and ensure they are enabled. Force close the app and reopen it. If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall the app. Check that your device OS meets minimum requirements. Use the Search function and try their full name or email. They may not have completed their profile setup yet. Contact your manager for assistance.

Not receiving notifications

App crashes on launch

Cannot find a colleague

Messages not loading

Check your internet connection. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Restart the app if messages remain unavailable.

Cannot join a channel

Some channels are private and require an invite. Contact the Channel Admin or your manager to be added to restricted spaces. Ensure the app has permission to access your microphone and camera in device settings. Close other apps that may be using these resources.
