Ako upravljam avi- onom, u pilotsku torbu stane sve: AIP, vazduhoplovne karte, lenjiri-ploteri, do- zvole, log-book i civilna garderoba.

WHAT DON’T YOU TRAVEL WITHOUT? Jovana: Until I got children, I didn’t carry hand luggage, just a handbag. Since I got my first child, I always have a bot- tle of water, some biscuits and a change of clothing. Srđan: Considering that I’m also a pi- lot, it all depends on whether I’m flying the plane or am just a passenger. If I’m going on holiday, I carry as little luggage as possible, in order to avoid crowds when checking in and collecting my suitcase. If I’m flying an aircraft, everything fits in my pilot bag: AIP, aeronautical charts, protractor-plotter, per- mits, log book and civilian clothes.

DO YOU RECALL YOUR FIRST TRIP ABROAD? Jovana : My parents took me on long trips from the time I was born, so we wer- en’t in Belgrade for three months a year. I remember that we went to Trieste and Ven- ice, and those cities still stir some special emotions in me when I visit them today. Srđan: While I was still a child I often went with my family to Vienna. That’s a city I remember for the sweets that kids buy on every corner. When a regular flight was later established, we also often went to the Austrian capital, only now much faster and more comfortably.

KOJA MESTA NAJVIŠE VOLITE U

WHICH PLACES DO YOU LOVE THE MOST IN BELGRADE? Jovana: Belgrade is a city that I really love very much, where generations of my fam- ily grew up. I love it because it changes and because it accepts outsiders, and I enjoy myself the most in its parks – the beauti- ful Tašmajdan, Kalemegdan and Topčider Park. Srđan: In Belgrade I most like the rivers, which emanate tranquillity and relax you from an everyday life that is more than dynamic. I have also ac- customed my children to them, so we often enjoy fishing and spending days in nature right beside the city.

BEOGRADU? Jovana: Beo-

| 17

KAKO BISTE SE UKRATKO PREDSTAVILI? Jovana: Ja sam obična, normal- na i ponosna majka troje dece. Vred- na sam, volim svoj posao i svog muža. Srđan: Zaljubljenik u televiziju i avione. Diplomirani komunikolog i pi- lot. HOW WOULD YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF? Jovana: I am an ordinary, normal and proud mother of three children. I am hard- working, and I love my job and my children. Srđan: A lover of television and planes. A graduate communications ex- pert and pilot. On television I prefer watching shows about aviation, while on planes I like to watch television. ČEMU STE POSVE ENI NA POSLOVNOM PLANU Jovana: Promena radne sredine i televizije donela mi je novu energi- ju i radost. Srđan: Imamo sjajan i mnogo- brojan tim, odlične produkcijske uslo- ve i jedva čekamo ponedeljak 5. mart da svima kažemo Dobro jutro. WHAT ARE YOU DEDICATED TO ON THE WORK FRONT? Jovana: The change in the work- ing environment and television compa- ny brought me new energy and joy. I am dedicated to establishing the morning pro- gramme on TV Prva, the contents it will in- clude, as well as its visual identity. Manage- ment gave us the opportunity to create the programme in the way that we would like. I hope the viewers will also be satisfied. Srđan: We have a brilliant and large team, as well as excellent production condi- tions, and we can hardly wait to wish every- one a good morning on Monday 5 th March.

KOJE PUTOVANJE PAMTITE? Jovana: Volim putovanja i u nji- ma uživam.

WHICH JOURNEYS DO YOU RECALL? Jovana: I love travelling and en- joy it. I think a person is only as rich as the things they’ve seen and the places they’ve visited. I couldn’t set aside any trip in particular, because I enjoyed them all. In the near fu- ture I’d like to tour South America and Australia. Srđan : Thanks to the work I do, I have been fortunate enough to tour plenty of countries and see and learn a lot. I had the most beauti- ful feelings in Jerusalem, America is unforgettable, France will always have a special place in my recollec- tions, while Africa seems to be con- stantly calling for us to meet again.

Amsterdam Prva parking-garaža ispod kanala

Amsterdam First parking garage under a canal

Amsterdam is set to become the world’s first city to have a parking garage under an existing canal. The garage will have room for 600 cars and 60 bicycles and will liberate space above the ground for pedestrians, cyclists and greenery. This is the first time that such a facility has been constructed in Amsterdam, which is why the project has gained so much attention among the professional public. The project has a price tag of 35 million euros, while the price of parking will be the same as a street-level. This subterranean garage should open during the course of this year. New York Exhibition of Yugoslav architecture New York’s famous MoMa, Museum of Modern Art, will present an exhibition of Yugoslav architecture this summer entitled “Towards a Concrete Utopia: Architecture in Yugoslavia 1948-1980”. This will be the first major U.S. exhibition addressing the architecture of the former Yugoslavia, and visitors will be able to view more than 400 sketches, photographs, models and film footage from city archives and private and museum collections. The exhibition will run from 15 th July 2018 until 13 th January 2019.

London Oxford Street becomes pedestrian zone London’s Oxford Street, famous as a venue for shopping, will be converted into a pedestrian zone by 2020, announced city authorities. This street, which is traversed by around four million people a week, has become synonymous with traffic congestion and is one of the city’s largest sources of air pollution. That’s why things are soon set to change. In addition, the announced construction of completely new infrastructure for bicycles is aimed at turning London into a city tailored to people and nature. Vienna Time for Easter bazaars Vienna’s Easter markets have become a genuine magnet for tourists, with many choosing the specific period of the Easter holidays to visit this imperial city. From as early as 17 th March, on the bazaar in front of the imperial backdrop of Schönbrunn Palace, 60 exhibitors will present a variety of home-made specialities and a large selection of Easter decorations to curious visitors. Meanwhile, on Freyung Square, as in previous years, Europe’s largest hill of decorated Easter eggs will also erected, while a bazaar offering special ideas for handmade Easter gifts will also open on Am Hof Square.

Scena / The Scene

WHAT WOULD

DEGAS SAY

Impressionism was born in the studio of a famous pho- tographer who permitted young painters gathered in the “Association of Unknown Artists, Painters, Sculptors, Graph- ic Artists and Others”to exhibit their works. The connection between impressionism and photography has remained unbreakable since that first exhibition to this day. In the second half of the 19 th and the early 20 th centuries, pho- tography had a great impact on the impressionists, while the influences on photography today, judging by the pho- tograph in front of you, flow from the direction of fine art. The impressionist painters sought to record the mo- ment and movement in the same way as the camera. Yet they also wanted to escape its black and white monoto- ny, which led to the start of an incredible and unprece- dented dance of colours and light. It was precisely by us- ing colours that impressionists succeeded in preserving the importance of paintings and preventing the photo- graphic image from completely replacing painted pictures. But with this picture photographer Mitar Mitrović shows us that it is also possible to reverse the process. With the use of the technique of prolonged exposure, he breathed the spirit of impressionism into an ordinary photograph of a rainy midday on Belgrade’s Knez Mihailova Street. The dance of light continues, and the boundaries are erased...

VESELO MODNO PROLEĆE JOYFUL SPRING OF FASHION B J E SU NA NAŠOJ STRANI

Tekst / Words: Sofija Kuzmanović Fotografije / Photography: Profimedia.rs

Milano razradio, a Pariz dao poslednju reč. Modna sezona proleće–leto 2018. i zvanično počinje Njujork je predstavio nove trendove, London ih je nadogradio, new trends, London upgraded them, Milan elaborated them, and Paris gave them the finishing touch. And the spring- summer 2018 fashion season can officially begin... C New York presented lassic pieces survive, slip dresses don’t capitulate and dark jeans rule. The full colour palette is in play, with both bright and pastel colours worn, redesigned trench coats and three-dimensional de- tails. There is a lot that’s permitted, but beware, there’s a thin line be- tween chic and shock. Here we pres- ent ten trends that will bring colour to spring in 2018.

COLOURS ARE ON OUR SIDE

26 |

Arrange all of your pastel coloured piec- es in the central part of your wardrobe. The famous Coco Chanel taught us to se- lect colours according to tones and not ac- cording to trends, so it’s sufficient for you to know that cold tones are in play. Ex- pressed in the language of sport, pieces in pastel tones are a safe bet and simultane- ously make you appear younger. ALL SHADES OF ICE CREAM

TRANSPARENT ON POLKA DOTS A trend which, alongside its undoubted attrac- tiveness, aims to see us walking around in our underwear in 2018! Is it a creators’ conspiracy or indulgence in a generally accepted trend? Every fashion week has featured transparent dresses made of airy materials. They do not leave any- thing to the imagination, everything is on show, but in some strange way they still appear so- phisticated. Milan Fashion Week passed in the sign of tulle.

2

POVRATAK TAMNOG DŽINSA

Kad Tom Ford i Nina Riči propuste tamni džins kroz svoje skice, dobijete modele ko- je bi svaka žena poželela u garderoberu, ia- ko smo ih se lako odrekli 15 godina ranije. Pored inspiracije tamnim džinsom name- njenim svim prilikama i onim neobrađenih ivica iz kruz kolekcija, drugo pravilo je – od glave do pete.

THE RETURN OF DARK DENIM season is – from head to toe. 3

When Tom Ford and Nina Ricci sketch dark denim, we get pieces that every woman would desire in her wardrobe, even though we abandoned them effortlessly fifteen years ago. Alongside being an inspiration, with dark denim intended for all occasions and having those untailored edges from the cruise collection, the other rule to them this

A HUNDRED FACES OF THE TRENCH COAT

Opt for one piece from a base of basic models and exploit it to the max. This is a regular prac- tise in both life and fashion. The new updated version of this classic coat follows all the latest innovations; there are deconstructed versions, doubled ones, and those with metallic edges.

POWERFUL VIBRANT PALETTE If you have sufficient trust in fashion designer Roksanda, you won’t avoid wearing outfits with strong primary colours this season. Yes, you will be at the centre of attention and will have to consider every piece you wear, but if you know how and have the desire, the effect will be irresistible. One col- our from head to toe or a combination of pieces in several strong colours, as a so-called colour block, everything is in play.

PENSIL-SUKNJA ODUVEK I ZAUVEK

PENCIL SKIRTS, ALWAYS AND FOREVER Balenciaga and Hermes built their col- lections around the irresistible pencil skirt. You may think it impossible to in- novate such a classic again and again, breathing freshness and modernity in- to the design, but try it with little socks and shoes with whale heels and an ul- tramodern upper part, like a sweat- shirt or translucent blouse.

| 29 of how you wear it, the end result is al- ways a sophisti- cated look. 7

WILL WE WEAR PLASTIC? Last autumn saw Raf Simons create autum- nal pieces from vinyl. Beyond all expecta- tion, the idea was accepted by many, but they were implemented a season later - in the spring collections. From the once current pelerine capes, to dresses and ankle boots. The pieces appear unexpected and futur- istic, but we have yet to see whether they will really come to life on the streets. Legs are likely to remain dry, but vapoury boots aren’t really challenging except in Venice, on St Mark’s Square, if rain is forecast.

Ipak, mini-suknje spakujte do daljnjeg. SHORTS Slim legs are always in fashion. And their proud owners aren’t reluctant to show them off. However, you should pack away your miniskirts for the fore- seeable future. Spring is ruled by shorts. Short, long, deep, wide, pleated or narrow cycling shorts. It’s not important which. It’s only important that those wanting to highlight their slender legs this season do so in shorts. With a jacket or without. You decide. SLIP-HALJINE SE NE PREDAJU

Slip haljine, one nalik spavaćicama, i dalje suvereno vladaju modnim pista- ma. Opušteni izgled zaboravite, mora- ju da budu upadljive, sjajne i seksi. Kao da ste pošli u diskoteku osamdesetih. SLIP DRESSES DON’T CAPITULATE The slip dress or night gown still walks freely along fashion catwalks. Forget the relaxed look, now they must be striking, shiny and sexy. As though you’re head- ing for a 1980s discotheque.

DETAILS THAT CONQUER SPACE

Leave your imagination to its will and wear some piece which has marabou waving on the edges, or a collar trimmed with feathers. There are also polka dots that have matured into little balls, as well as tassels that continue to seductively swing around clothes. These kinds of details were dominant in the collections pre- sented in Italy.

SOCKS IN THE MAIN ROLE Socks have won us over and we still wear them, alongside san- dals or shoes. The more striking, unusual and original, the bet- ter. However, with this trend there is no joke: there’s a thin line between chic and shock combinations. A new trend is differ- ing socks, so-called odd socks, as well as knee-length ones that flirt skilfully with the womanly-schoolgirl look. TRI MINI-TRENDA THREE MINI TRENDS

0 DÉCOLLETÉ – BOTH DEEP AND WIDE DEKOLTEI - I DUBOKI I ŠIROKI Poput filmskih diva starog Holivuda, ponesite model koji naglašava dekolte. Klasičnoj košulji otkopčajte jedno dugme vi- še i dobićete isti efekat.

DRAPIRAJTE SVE ŠTO MOŽETE Vragolasti volani, nezaobi- lazni prošle godine, nisu baš demode, ali definitivno su ih potisnuli drapirani mode- li. Od majica, bluza, suknji i haljina do pantalona. Ako ih pametno izaberete, eto jed- nog modela koji prikriva i poneki višak ili nabor.

DRAPE EVERYTHING

The writhing steering wheels of the unavoidable previous year are not totally out of fashion, but they are definitely being pushed by draped models. From t-shirts, blouses, skirts and dresses to trousers. If you select them wise- ly you will have a piece that also covers some surplus or blemish.

Like the film divas of old Hollywood, wear a piece that highlights the neck- line. This can even be a plain white shirt. The new versions have a wider neckline that has a glam- orous effect. Unbutton a classic shirt one button lower and you will gain the same effect.

Jelena Atanacković transferred an authentic monastic pattern to jacquard ribbons, combining the tradition and identity of the region with fashion trends and the notion of strong contemporary women

Ornamentika koju je izabrala potiče iz manastira širom bivše Jugoslavije The ornamentation she chooses originates from monasteries throughout the former Yugoslavia

J elena Atanasković is a Cetinje native with a Belgrade address. She is the woman who introduced authentic monastic ornamentation to domestic fashion and thus began the fusion and re- vival of Balkan cultural heritage. The idea of transferring large ornamentation formats to jacquard ribbons and combining them with modern cuts, for both clothing and items for the home, with perseverance and inex- haustible optimism, has gained its final form after less than two years of work, under the name “Fantasia di Yeya”. The driving force behind her work is the belief that people will recognise the importance of cultural heritage represented through this prism, coupled with a desire to preserve the iden- tity of the region in this way. Her fashion line includes shirts, tunics, skirts, dresses etc. However, she links them with something unique: the ornamental mo- tif embedded within them as a vivid and ef- fective detail. - My personal style always had its“final touch”, and thus the brand also gained its own stamp through the fusion of authentic monastic ornamentation with contempo- rary trends. Why ornamentation in particu- lar? Tradition in modern clothing is some- how my characteristic signature which has followed me throughout my life, imposed primarily, on the one side, by the nurturing in my home and growing up in a family that loves and emphasises its origins. But, on the other side, there is also the freedom I had to direct my own life and achieve self-realisa- tion in the roles I aspired to. It’s sometimes hard to strike that balance, but it’s very pos- sible – says Jelena. The ornamentation she chooses origi- nates from monasteries throughout the for- mer Yugoslavia and represents part of the great wealth of the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Balkans. That is also perhaps most evident in the waistbands that Jelena creates. In Serbian folk costumes they are called ‘kanice’, but how do they fit into the style of today’s modern women? - Waistbands have somehow imposed themselves as a trademark. All those no-
